When I saw them (on this tour, I think) they were playing with Pillorian, Haughm's short lived band after Agalloch. Pretty cool show.

Using a keyboard for bass really makes sense when you have three guitars. Normal bass might sound muddled.

id guess to see the fret board, having played on stage i know the pain of playing the wrong fret because you cant see shit xD
I saw them live in Cincy and wondered the same thing... As a guitarist myself I could see the functionality being to illuminate the fretboard a bit to see in the dark like the guy said, but I tried to look up a product and couldnt find one.. So if anyone knows where to find one let me know haha
They used too (and probably still do) play a lot of DIY venues with the absolute minimal lighting possible and tons of fog.
So, yea, I saw them play outside on the loading dock of a factory with Thou and it was nothing short of magical. The LEDs are much better in person.
This is the first album cycle where there are real stage lights. On former tours there was MASSIVE fog and almost no lights. The blue lights were all I could see and I guess them too.
