Matt you need to start maping those woods. When you eventually get to redoing the woodland activities you NEED TO BRAND EACH THING.
That way you can have the disclaimer "we are trying to locate and replace various structures throughout the woods, any structures that we have remodeled and are certified 'safe' will be branded with our insignia. Please report any unbranded/unmarked structures to the office."

All of the telephone poles are called pamper poles (worked at a camp that had them) the person belaying uses the rope running through those smaller poles to relieve some of the weight. The climber goes up the one pole and tries to stand on the top (hardest part) then jumps to the trapeze! One of my favorite high ropes activities!!!

A facilitator would give individuals and teams challenges such as getting the team across to the other side without using different parts of the body or being blindfolded. From it's shadowy depths a single man in a baseball cap emerges, clad with a stone tied to the end of a stick. "Welcome back to Off The Ranch", he says to the outstretched stone enthusiastically, "you guys aren't going to believe this but today starts our new series RENOVATING AN ABANDONED PLANET".

And a ton of other models. You should check it out. If some of these buildings aren’t salvageable they might be a good choice! Check ‘em out ! A majority of our stuff stuff is custom. You had two courses. A low course and hogh course. Low course was used to teach the ropes and spotting skills, and then the high course was used to build self confidence. Tree based courses like yours are high maintenance because you have to be careful not to kill the tree. Also, insurance due to liability, got very expensive. I could explain somenof the other pieces if I were down there and could see it in person. You could rebuild the low course and create a corporate retreat to build teamwork. Usually they are either 3 day or 5 day courses.
A course that size would probably need a director and half a dozen to dozen instructors. Each platform would have an instructor, plus ground support between a couple of platforms. Theres a couple of national organizations to certify a course, but based on age, tear it all out and start over

The Pensacola monolithic dome home in Florida has survived multiple major hurricanes (including Katrina) with only cosmetic damage and is the only home to have done so on the beachfront. As these domes are constructed from Shotcrete, they're fireproof, hurricane/tornado-proof, termite proof and - to a large extent - bulletproof. The company that sells these is located in Italy, Texas.
The physics behind the design is rather simple - curved walls divert strong winds around the building rather than slamming into a flat wall.

I’ve never seen Matt fail at ANYTHING he tries. I’m worried that this old Resort may be the biggest challenge. Not just rebuilding this resort, but things have changed so much. New Braunfels/Canyon Lake area has grown to be the epicenter of water fun in Central Texas. He HAS to build RV spots as it seems everyone has an RV nowadays. This place is kind of “remote” for todays society with no stores or restaurants/shopping around or nearby. Now School year ends in June and starts back in the first week or so of August, which shortens vacation season. This is a big undertaking, and if pulled off, Matt would be the one guy who could do it. We are pulling for you and the resurrection of the old place, went their 30 plus years ago and it was in need of updating then. Now it’s so dang hot in Texas, I don’t know if their is enough water in this property for everyone. Maybe build a water park of some sort with pools? Good luck and keep going

Having facilitated a High ropes and Low ropes course, a lot of those seemingly incomplete low ropes areas were probably team building stations with objectives like to use three boards to get everyone across or something similar to that. It looks random until an instructor gives a team of people rules and objectives.

Don't know how familiar you are with disc golf, but with all of the elevation changes, the river, the open areas for big drives and all the trees, you have. great property for championship level course. It would have low impact on the trees, allow for multi-use with hiking, biking, atv trails, and it would bring in a steady flow of people looking to play a new and challenging course in the souther hill country area. The size of the property may even allow 2 courses which would provide several options (woods course and open course). Once you get the facilities up, you would be setup to host larger tournaments and a steady year-round flow of tee fees for those looking to make day trips. The Texas Collegiate Championship is held close to your area, which you might be able to host as I know some are looking for alternate courses for competition.

The ropes course with the trapeze is called a power pole. The short pole is how you belay the person on the taller pole. My parent owned a camp for 34yrs and that was one of their many rope course elements.

I am almost certain that is an old Boy Scout camping site. We have one extremely similar to that here in Missouri! Get a hold of your local troop or the local office and they can look it up. If it is a camp they usually can give you the original layouts and other materials that would be cool to have!

all over in Germany there are exercise trails throughout the forests. They are trails of various lengths, clearly marked with arrow signs along the trees and those trails have different stations with various exercises. The exercises are described on signs and most of the exercise equipment is simple and made from natural materials, such as trees and metal ropes, chains, etc. There are bars for pushups or pullups, balance beams, short posts in the ground for steps etc. I think that corner you showed today might be a great idea for an all natural exercise and workout trail because people do like to exercise outside instead of being in a monkey cage type of gym with 5 treadmills lined up in a row.

I have a 355acre ranch about 119 miles due North of you (in Zephyr TX) and its is interesting to see your grass has turned brown just like on mine ranch. Got a bunch of high dollar mulching and clearing done there this past winter. I also have a water way, the Pecan Bayou, but not nearly as clear wate as the Guadelupe, but lots of deep stagnant sections when the water isn't running. Lots of alligator gar, catfish, and turtles, some perch, crappie. The Turtle and gar are great plinking sport with a 223 from the high bank in the wooded grassy park.
