There's this other girl I helped named Sherry, maybe you two could become partners." Seriously, that could be such a cool idea!
For those who don't know, this game also incudes the whole campaings of RE2 and Code Veronica (in shooter format of course). I'd really love a remaster of this and Umbrella Chronicles.
Also while we're in topic, would also love a remaster for Dead Space Extraction, the prequel to Dead Space.
I'd love that too, but if it did, I'd also love a resurgence of official light gun controllers to happen along with that.
I also remember having fond memories of RE Dead Aim on PS2 for not being your usual railshooter and walking the fine line between a fully explorable over the shoulder RE game and a lightgun game.
And the funny thing is that this game also actually makes Steve Burnside a LEGITIMATELY GOOD-WRITTEN CHARACTER

Just POURING filler into the lore holes.
I played this on the Wii and adored it for what it was. I do NOT remember the camera being quite this bad with the shakes. Holy moly. I must have adjusted pretty quickly back then. Now it just makes me want to lay down.
I think it's easier to track when you're playing the game vs. watching it.

Well that is the "bad" ending. There's a second ending if Manuela doesn't use her abilities too much in the boss fight.
Leon must save Yuna - I mean Manuela - so that she can live to sing another day.

I know some people trashed on these railshooters back in the day *cough* woolie *cough* but I thought they were fun re-imaginings. I just wish Capcom would put them on PC since when you use the mouse on Dolphin to shoot, it feels really fun. My only complaint was that I felt Umbrella Chronicles was really, really tough with it's scoring system by not only counting headshots and collectibles but also the amount you destroy in the environment otherwise, they're both still really fun to spend some time.
The spiders camping inside the house isn't that weird, I would like it more if they also camped in the soil outside. The girl singing might be an Iara (river mermaid) reference, and the shaky camera could be inspired by cryptid sightings in South America... Okay that last one is a stretch.

@@Lucios1995 Yeah, I am mostly a Console player, but it's getting absurd that from a narrative standpoint, you have the whole RE storyline on PC, but no version of CV at all neither the original or Darkside.
My problem with the camera shake in this game wasn't even that it threw off my aim, it's that it would always make me motion sick.
Which is a pity because I liked Umbrella Chronicles, and really wanted to like this one too.
Like many things in RE. I feel like Krauser could be a great protag for his own game, sure he seems straight out of a MGS game but having an arc with him, and using a hardened military guy in a tough survival situation instead of Chris again would be cool. Its kinda like Hunk. So many characters we wont see again. I am not sure if capcom would even risk it, the remakes are super competent, but I think in terms of story and writing they are playing it extremely safe. Maybe because the re5 and 6 era was so dumb they are compensating.
Should totally play Resident Evil: Dead Aim... its complete with bad dub, miss match subtitles, and multiple input methods to play the game.

Now would be a good chance for Capcom do a remake of THIS game - along with Code Veronica - and make it Resident Evil 4 style.

That is the most seizure inducing game I ever saw. I'm not feeling well after watching this video. It's like nobody on the dev team played it for more than 10 minutes straight.
I was always confused about Krauset when I played RE4. This game made so much more sense afterwards

I loved this game and Umbrella Chronicles, I RENTED them so long ago they feel like a fever dream so this was really fun to watch again.

Like with Umbrella chronicles, many assets from this game came from the Outbreak series. For example, that hunter is the gamma variant that appears in the first Outbreak.
I really wanted to play an RE game in this style, but yeah, the shaky camera is awful and disorienting (they should have tweak it to reduce the amount of shakiness). This game also recreates the events of RE2 and Code:Veronica, but obviously in the format of a rail shooter. Most of the stuff in the RE2 parts are quite similar but with both characters in this style, however, the Code:veronica parts are a little different in the terms of lore , which can be a little weird for some fans.
And about the final boss, he may be one of the biggest, but i think the uroboros monster in RE5 (that takes a whole ship) maybe the biggest or the sea monster the first Revelations that may be the biggest monster in the entire series.
Edit: Matt , you should give a try to the outbreak series.
The Resident Evil 3 campaign for Umbrella Chronicles was like ALL Outbreak assets.
He's never played Outbreak?!? He should look into those japanese servers with the PS2 emulator, I did it! It was really cool but a player blew us up inside the last campaign's university with a friend of mine minutes away from the end and we never came back to Outbreak 1 because of it, or finished File 2, not sure of why to the second one.
I really want to see Code Veronica, Darkside Chronicles, and maybe even Wesker's escape from the Arklay Mansion get the Revelations treatment...
(Could even add heat survival mechanics to it, with subzero Arctic & boiling Rainforest temperatures.)
To answer your question @31:30, the biggest Resident evil Boss Should be the T-Virus infected Whale of Revelation 1, if there one bigger than that beast I'd like to know too
I got really far into Revelation 1, but never finished, so this probably checks out.
This, Umbrella Chronicles and the Dead Space game are among my favorite Wii titles.

This game was freaking fantastic. I'm a huge fan of rail shooters/light gun games so this was nothing but fun.
10:00 Those look like Gamma Hunter types from the OG RE3 Nemesis on PS1. In that game they were pretty dangerous, even more so than the Beta ones, though the latter would spawn far more commonly in the city.

Actually, the remske changes and deletes this entirely. In the document found ok krauser's tent, the document describes that the operation jacuer was not a bow mission, just a drug lord mission where only krauser survives, leon isn't even there

One of my favorite light gun games is Darkside Chronicles enjoyed the prequel story to RE4.
Tsk tsk Matt, you mixed up the Hunter Gamma (bipedal frog) from RE3 and the Outbreak duo games, with the Gulper (large normal frog) from RE0

So who else was containing the urge to start typing "Actually" when Matt wet to rant about the Lurkers of RE Zero and how lame they are, while pointing at the Hunters Gamma from RE3 Namesis/Outbreak? And sure, the Lurkers are actually lamer, but still! And yes, I know I am basically just attempting my way around to an "actually" comment here, but let me have this! Though, as side note, the Lurkers in Zero spawn fairly late in the game, at the very tail end of the game in fact, so that's quite a long while to catch on the over use of regular animals as enemies!

Nah, dude, give me Darkside Chronicles over Umbrella Chronicles all day. It's a far superior game with no bullshit with the headshots. Some zombies simply don't feel the headshot on that one, it's quite bad.

Anyone else really hope that Capcom add Operation Javier DLC to RE4 2023? When they showed the flashback it really got my hopes up we'd get to play that outside of The Darkside Chronicles.
I think it's possible! The easy bet is just Assignment Ada though. I doubt they would make tons of new assets for Javier.
@@flophouseplays The dataminers already found references to Separate Ways (The Another Mission) so at least half of the Ada content is confirmed (unless cut.)
The additional resouces for Javier make it unlikely, but I do hope it happens, I doubt there's enough for it to ever get it's own game.
It would likely be easier to make it as DLC for an RE5 remake.... so I wonder if (if they did it at all) they'd add it to 5, or just use those assets to add it to 4 much later?

Yeah, if you beat certain conditions, you can play through the last two Leon missions as Krauser and hear his internal monologue. He basically spends the game moaning about how his career is over because he got injured in a boss fight. (Even though he's mowing down zombies as easily as before) Then he witnesses Javier turn into a giant flesh shambler and he's all "That is awesome! I should totally inject a virus into myself someday!"
Kinda diminished Krauser's whole character for me, tbh.

Some details of Operation Javier is retconned (Krauser leading another squad and got left for dead). I thought they scrapped the whole story but he still mentions Leon was with him in that jungle). It should still be pretty much the same story.

Ugh, the shakey cam, was in my local arcade and played through the first House of the Dead and Time Crisis II, and noticed how much good lightgun games have you slide like a camera on a dolly.
I got this on the wii, once I realised you could upgrade the pistol to max by constantly replaying the same leve (which I'm pretty sure you cant do in Umbrella Chronicles) l, I just did the RE4 prequel over and over, and then got bored and didnt play it again.
I'll happily take Umbrella Chronicles over this any day. Mainly because it doesn't make me sick because good God was this camera a mistake.

I have both games on Wii, and Umbrella Chronicles is by far the best. Darkside was such a letdown.
My favorite line, "Maybe he doesn't like door to door salesman!?" And that skinny thing you thought was a monkey is called Anubis. Honestly, it's a distrace to the name. There's also a separate mission for Krauser single player only where it provides his internal monologue.

I would love to be able to play the 2 chronicles games(the new stories in them that is) the same way we play the other Resident Evil games. I can't stand games where you have no control over the characters movement
