Well I invest with a top trader Investor Ashton Edwards you might have heard of him.. I can correctly say he's the best top trader in the world, an investment advisor as his diversification skills are great, I say this because i see that in his results as my portfolio grows by averages of 25% to 35% on a weekly basis, unlike i can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along. my portfolio just mirrors what he place and not just on some particular industries of my choosing. He gave me that financial freedom I needed

Hi Mohnish, I am very grateful that I came across this channel. Thank you so much for helping us mere mortals to undestand the fundamentals of investing.
sir how to identify moat? In your book dhandho investor you mention that good businesses with good moat generate high return of invested capital.Warren mention that you want to analysis all competitors .But there are more then 75 peer companies are there and 3 big company in the same industry.
I think Technical analysis combined with value investing is a great way to get best price .. I like the Stanley Drunkenmiller school in the case of entry ..
Agree on IBM, same with Tesco. Agree on Apple. The other factor to mention will be a lower PE valuation the larger and slower growing it becomes. If you buy at 25 and it re rates to 18 what might be considered a solid 12% pa return over a decade becomes a 7%pa. Eg I'd rather own Google at today's prices than Apple, which I do. Does Mohnish still think Meta is still worth $400 a share? Why did Li Lu sell Meta? Great company and metrics but uncertain future and poor capital allocation? I hold Meta at an average under $200 but feel uncomfortable with the investment given the uncertainty, it's one that could stagnate or 5X.
“In identifying director nominees, the Governance Committee does not seek diversity, however defined. Instead, as previously discussed, the Governance Committee looks for individuals who have very high integrity, business savvy, an owner-oriented attitude and a deep genuine interest in the Company.” -WB
The woman might not be the brightest bulb in box: if she is substituting meritocracy with diversity, but also setting performance as a goal, there might not be a committment to any goal at all. I am reminded of central banks that sought price stability, then price stability and employment maximization, then considered climate stability. What next? Social or political stability? Profit maximization? Diversity? Human happiness? If the goal becomes everything, it also becomes nothing.

I dont think so at all. Looking at his portfolio daily doesnt mean acting on it daily through buy and sell decision. Infrequent trading is what makes a long-term investor. It doesnt mean that youre not allowed to keep up with markets.
@@johnlayman7466 I am not talking about daily but a short period of time. He does not hold on a stock for too long. He lost money on baba when he sold. You
Yes, that might be true. But still I think nothing wrong with that. If the facts change, you should change. Even if your analysis of the facts change, you should change. Im very sure Mohnish would like nothing more than to end up only owning business he could hold for years. Yet, reality is different sometimes. I think it is about, in theory, having the long-term mindset when youre entering an investment at first. However, Buffett is the same way, actually selling most of his holdings and not keeping all of them „forever“. Its a statistic that surprised me at first as well, yet it goes to show the openness to being wrong with your thesis. I guess you wouldnt call Warren Buffett short-sighted because of that
Mohnish - great as always. Awesome at compounding, even better at teaching. The ESG-diversity-buzzword lady sure was a drag on quality though, although Mohnish handled her dull questions with grace. I think she is kind of the opposite of Mohnish - whenever he opens his mouth, you get essence, nuanced points and condensed wisdom. Whatever the lady said basically meant nothing. Also I feel like she didnt get Mohnish‘s nuanced criticism of ESG at all. I guesss she is the kind of person who scores high in agreeableness (thats probably why she‘s in that position right now of ESG committee spokesperson or whatever) and that is why she felt the urge to make it seem like they totally agreed on ESG policies in investing. Or, I genuinely believe that could be the case, she simply didnt get his point at all. Mohnish was basically saying that no arbitrary and strict exclusion of investment opportunities makes sense, and that it is shortsighted if not even morally questionable to label a company like Exxon „uninvestable“. Mohnish said he would go beyond ESG labelling to inspect what makes a good corporate citizen. She then basically replied like „Yeah, totally, we think ESG is awesome too!“ She then proceeded by saying they also like to „go the extra mile“, because they are just so ethically conscious and alert. I could almost guarantee you, that she thinks of „going the extra mile“ in a completely different sense than Mohnish does. But hey, if that‘s the competition in investing, and it becomes even more crowded with „ESG-diversity-equity-first“ investment committees, more power to her. That should lead to awesome mispricing and opportunities in the long run for anyone who can still see beyond modern-day propaganda and herd-thinking.
