Velvet fabric is rich in look and generally this fabric is used to make sarees, salwar suits & sherwani for men in India and Other countries.

Does cotton velvet stretch and is it also light reflective....Would prefer a velvet which does not reflect light

I am looking to make a gown, a column sheath actually and the options I have where I live in India are tacky and that is an understatement :).
