Kanaha Beach was my first windsurfexperience (1998) in Maui, i love this beach, nice people there (never miss a windy day) , return back in 2018, and we`ll come back soon, aloha from Germany
These video are perfect to learn the most important thing to go out with waves... stay out, get through shorebreaks, pick goog waves. The 98% of the time in real world sailing is not surfing waves, unfortunately. Just a question: how is your quiver and your weight? Board litres, your weight, wind, sail etc.?
@Leonardo Thank you for your feedback🙏 I weigh about 80 Kg and my goto board is 86 L. In super strong winds I will use a smaller board in the 80L. range. For side/side-off wave sailing the sail I use the most is a 4.6 in winds over ≈18 knots. When the wind is super light I switch to a 5.0. When the wind is really howling I prefer to use a 4.3. I typically to use the smallest sail size possible for the conditions even if it means I can't plane until I catch a wave. The benefit being a super light feeling sail that is easy to de-power in the bottom turn.
Ok… thanks for the great vids. I had that question why does the bolt loosen on the base . I separated once.?I haven’t watched it yet. Always excited to see one of your posts, you guys make it look so easy. Thanks
Hi Glenn that was great almost as good as being there it was funny I could call the spot where your going to jibe on the out side. Hope to see you out there some time cheers
Stoked that you watched the video Bryan!! That is the eye of an expert sailor... I am always looking for the smooth trough in between the wind swells to snap those outside jibes. Hope to see you soon brudda!
Looks Great! We are going to Maui in April, 2022. I haven’t wind surfed in 15 years. What is the local protocol for avoiding other surfers when it’s this crowded?
Awesome to hear! The best advice would be to talk to the locals at the beach before you go out. Every beach and day has a different vibe and the local sailors/surfers will give you the best tips to make sure you have fun!
Little bit late but can you tell me what fins you are using, they arent the originals I think? I ordered the 87 2022 cube but it takes a while so I love to whatch my future board in your exelent video,s.
Like the ocean sounds ,not music for periods. Really adds to the feeling.
I’ve sail there before and so miss Maui.
Probably the best channel on UA-cam for windsurfing. Awesome pov, totally need more video!!

Another cracking video, appreciate all the work that goes on behind the scenes. Keeping us going whilst we wait for wind in the UK

Hi Hans, I am using a custom set of MFC G10 fins... I think you can only order them direct from Pio on Maui. Your gonna love your new board!
Super cool video! What month was this filmed in and how many knots were there that day? :D
@Maxime This was filed in November. I am not sure exactly how windy it was that day but my best guess is somewhere between 18 to 22 knots.
Nice video. The back loop is a fun jump. Thanks for sharing :) Are you using a chesty or helmet mount?
Thanks, those backlogs are pretty much my favourite move. I am using a helmet mount.
At last! Good to see you back on board. Can't believe how much height you generate in the back loops with seemingly not much speed?
Thank you! All you need is to be planing and to hit the wave in the right spot where it has the most power to send you upwards😀
looks like before the wing-ding invasion 😂
if its raw and unfiltered, how cometh the bleep when F word is uttered :P
Hi Glenn, what camera are you using?
Aloha, I was using the GoPro Hero 6.
Where is the camera on your head? Looks awesome thankyou!
@@cliffpz I have the camera placed just about my eyebrows on my forehead.
4.6 m2 and 86lt.? Just guessing (or you might indicate these measures in the next session) just talkin bout essentials……
What size is this board?
@Ricardo This board is about 86L.
