I’m on eBay rn, and they have a MAG QPXfor $599 and a MPG QRX for $619. Which one should I do? Are they really that different now that they both support firmware updates ?
@nyjay yes, I ran it multiple times. I had over 100hrs on the monitor and they did not go away. You're right, I believe mine was a factory defect. I returned it and l didn't want to chance it so I went for the MAG. So far another UA-camr and I have tested the MAG in 27" and 32". We think they are a safe buy. If you can wait the MPG is safest but we can only tell what we have tested. The MAG is a buy if needed now. Picture quality is equal in sdr and hdr.
Hi Viktor, have you noticed any eye strain issues with these monitors? I ended up returning my MAG 271QPX today. It makes me sad because it was the most beautiful monitor I've ever used. Amazing colors, black levels, motion clarity, refresh rate and responsiveness. But anytime I would use the monitor for more that half an hour, my eyes would start to get so unbelievably fatigued. Been using the monitor nearly every day for about a month and the eye strain just kept getting worse and worse, and it's felt like the eye strain has been hurting my vision even outside of using the monitor. Unlike any sort of eye strain that I've experienced before. I switched back to my LG-GP850 IPS monitor today, and I can instantly tell that the eye strain issues aren't there. I was just curious if you had any opinion / input about this.
Ive read several reviews for these 3rd gen qd oled panels and for whatever reason it seems a small percentage of the population seem to get bad eye strain from them. My eyes are generally very sensitive but fortunately its something I havent seen with my similar alienware 2725df. Whatever is causing it hope the manufacturers can fix it for the few that see it.
The mag u tested in this video is 360hz right? The mag version in my country is 240hz.. do you think that will make a big difference with the picture quality?
@@DisplayRealityto me that seems to be a actual fraud to people who was trying to get the 360hz one, it dont label its refresh rate on the products title😅

MAG wont receive any firmware updates? What does that mean? İts a new prodect, so why while one monitor receives updates, why the other wont! Whats the point here? I mean in my country I can only find the MAG version, and that info about update you shared made me confiused..
@@TheChaylaq when this video was released MSI had said Only the MPG would get updates and the MAG would not. Due to popular demand (ppl requested) just recently in June did MSI change and now the MAG will get updates. Every OLED has VRR flicker that's visible in dark parts of the screen if your framerate is unstable or if the game you're playing stutters. Again, every OLED.
@@DisplayRealityI am confused though. On MSI’s website, it says for both of these that they possess an anti-reflective surface treatment. I just plan to connect a laptop to it through a docking station. Also, can you confirm that the MAG has HDMI 2.1 as well. Il loving your content. This video is great!
That prob means you bought on amazon. When they deliver the shipping label will be on the actual box. If you select hide content... it will put the monitor box in another cardboard box when delivered. This happened to me on a lego set. I like keeping my boxes so I had to reorder. (Also use my links if you do reorder :))
You buy OLED is to show off the live wallpaper...but you can't because of burn-in. What is the point then??? I really want one but my usage is unsuitable. The only way around this is to have 2 monitor. An IPS monitor for everyday use and the OLED only for gaming.
I have played mk11 on them. No issues but I am not sure if vrr was enabled. I just checked rtings.. but this issue would be for consoles. Seems like a firmware needs to fix. Rtings does not seems to be on F010 or F009
Also for everyone reading this on the mag version you cant use MSI gaming intelligence where you could control you monitor settings in software app. I find this really shit from msi because the monitor isn't cheap at all and it should have what the MPG has.

I ended up returning my LG GS model, the vertical lines were too much and i could not unsee them. I went with the MAG and its a much better monitor.
Nice! I have fixed my lines thankfully. Still need to vs them.
I have the GS, and I’m not sure what vertical lines you’re referring to. You probably had a defect? Did you run image clean?
@nyjay yes, I ran it multiple times. I had over 100hrs on the monitor and they did not go away. You're right, I believe mine was a factory defect. I returned it and l didn't want to chance it so I went for the MAG. The GS was a bit brighter and the matte coating did not bother me at all; however, the colors are way better on the MAG and 360hz and cheaper, so I'm happy now.

The E2 is 240hz and the other one is 360hz.
In h, d, R, the mag doesn't let you customize the colors, it's locked.

I really want to upgrade my monitor and the MAG is in stock local to me, but I am paranoid about the firmware updates. Do I wait patiently for MPG or get MAG and hope it never needs anything? 🤔
Not so far but I know what you are talking about. Some comments have been coming in on that. From Alienware to MSI even Asus. :(
Ive read several reviews for these 3rd gen qd oled panels and for whatever reason it seems a small percentage of the population seem to get bad eye strain from them. My eyes are generally very sensitive but fortunately its something I havent seen with my similar alienware 2725df. Whatever is causing it hope the manufacturers can fix it for the few that see it.
Is this more of a matte or gloss or in between? How was the black level? & does it have backlight bleed?
These are both gloss. No backlight bleed
It doesn't have a backlight to bleed.
The mag u tested in this video is 360hz right? The mag version in my country is 240hz.. do you think that will make a big difference with the picture quality?

@gdhgaming basically the e2 is 240hz while the other is 360hz. If you can buy any MPG version. It has native firmware support. The MAG does not and needs to be updated via msi or if newer firmware but we cannot know until bought. Also the MPG 360hz has some cool features that I think would be cool and rgb if you like that.

hope you’re able to asus one, also do you notice any flicker from these monitors?
No flicker. But I have seen comments that say the Alienware version has flicker according to them. Just letting you know.
Every OLED has VRR flicker that's visible in dark parts of the screen if your framerate is unstable or if the game you're playing stutters. Again, every OLED.

It should work. Usually monitors that are not official still work. Ill need to hook mine up again to check.
@@DisplayReality Appreciated.
No need to check. It works. It has a legit Vesa certification which comes with adaptive sync allowing it to work with any modern graphics card. I don't think g-sync is even needed these days with any generic adaptive sink monitor but this one will work with the g-sync. Thank you though!

That prob means you bought on amazon. When they deliver the shipping label will be on the actual box.
