Laptop Inverter Board Replacement to FIX DIM VIDEO

In this video I replace the inverter board of a Dell Inspiron 6400. The reason the inverter board needed to be replaced is because the display was VERY dim. If you can barely see what is displayed on your LCD Screen you may need a new inverter board.

Just used this video jun2015 to replace my inverter. Great video! Got almost identical inverter for $7 shipped to Canada in 9 days from laptopz-outlet on Ebay. Some details to help others:there is a small screw to remove with small phillips on front of left of inverter. When you remove screen & flip over you must also pinch the upper 30pin connector on both sides & gently lift & wiggle down. Then bottom silver metal connection of ribbon on right side of inverter need to be pulled/pried gently up. I was able to easily remove old inverter off the steel piece holding it without removing the steel piece by sliding gently to one side & wiggling it out. Much easier then trying to remove & reinstall the metal piece. Hope this helps!

Great video, I had the same problem with the dim screen, however after replacing the inverter, the screen is still dim. Any ideas as to what the cause of the screen still being dim would be? Thanks

Great video. Question: my Inspiron sometimes turns on and the screen works, but when I move it, it turns black, or very dim to see (video board is ok, since I can see on an LCD for example) and I have to move the screen to get image. Now it has stopped completely (the laptop works fine, only the screen). From your experience, is the inverter what is failing?

Is there a screw on the inverter to remove it from the plate, or did you just pull it off by like lifting the metal tabs?

one question though as i cant really tell from the vid..you just hold the two blue strips and pull the connector from the inverter? or do you kind of rock it out. Sorry for the newb question lol

to bad my invertor board aint just loose...its actually melting a bit when the screen is medium to max brightness(and its damn near impossible to see when its dim)

If your screen is going black you need to replace the CCFL bulb inside the monitor not the inverter board

hey there! we have here a toshiba satellite laptop here. my problem is that, sometimes the laptop screen is dim which you could barely see what's in the screen and we restart it to see if it might get back to normal when done, and yes it goes back to normal. sometimes too, the screen flickers whenever we turn it on. how will i repair this? thank you. :)
