@petervankan1 - Peter, when an artist as big as David Bowie takes the time to learn someone else's song -- a competitor's song -- it's showing respect. It may not be the best version -- it doesn't have to be. It's one artist tipping his hat to another because that artist -- Ray Davies -- is that good. Peter Gabriel did the same. Elvis Costello did it with "Days." I am not a fan of Bowie -- but I like that he tried.
Its nice to hear this loud itied other vid.too low i couldnt hear it at good volume and job.r.i.p.david .i saw bowie 2 nights in a row at towe on 69st upper darby.pa in 1972 or 1973 with spiders fom mars also mott the hoople there too.jjf.west of west phila. Upper darby pa
I love covers if they were made as new versions. Good songs regenerate in time🔥Peter Gabriel is also a genius in versions. Just listen #ScratchMyBack album💜
Great song of course... and I'm a big fan of Ray Davies and the Kinks (my favorite band of all time) and Bowie too but this isn't as good a cover as the one Peter Gabriel did - best option: hearing Ray sing it solo.
Peculiar thing, but as a long time Bowie fan I actually find some of his covers somehow not quite right. The music in this is too straight forward and the song just seeps away its magic
David singing Ray. It doesn’t get better than this ☮️
Two genius together.
Beautiful song by two cool British rock stars!
A song to never be forgotten!
This is a live duet with Ray Davies...terrific!
great tribute by Bowie to The Kinks
-beutifully done
My favourite song by the writer and the changer of my life.
Fabulous version of a fabulous song
Thanx for recognizing this gem !
Merci beaucoup.
Wow what a great version, David putting his stamp on it.
This song is so bowie!
Has to be one of the greatest covers
no good...
David Bowie RIP - gone from us just one year and your star is undimmed.
All-time Favorite!!
👽👽👽
seriously good collaboration by two brilliant artists.
very nice version. love it.
It’s not a cover, David and Ray Davies dueted famously together live, Waterloo Sunset. ❤

I usually hate covers, but Bowie shows his class again, he kept the origins of the song intact and added his own. This is the way covers should be.
❤

This is what happens when the top of the class comes together
FriGGin Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what a song, thanks for uploading this
Love this and posting with Thanks!
great stuff!
cracking version.
where have all the good times gone is the pin ups song
Allo.. Seen dave, dave.......
great!!!
It's a studio version from 1998 you can get it on an album called ' david Bowie secret songs
Found a version on Bowie's Reality-2003 too.......
Great take on a classic Kinks song, but I like the Jackson Browne cover even more.
Jackson's vocals are a better fit for this song.
Yes ,he did it great......but he does not do anything bad! xo
wherefore art thou now David????
@darkmossie633
aint no tribute...its a collaboration
this is first time i have heard this cover. absolutely brill. was it from the PINUPS recordings but not included. anyone out there know
From Pin ups (1973)? His voice was quite different back in those days, no it's much more recent, Reality period

Where's dave... Dave....
Yea,,,, God.

Fantastic cover yet the original is still superior
@MrPeter24evans yip
The Kinks > David Bowie
Not as good as the original.
Idk this just doesn't satisfy me. He doesn't have the best voice for this song in particular.
Terrible version.
