    Gregor, I am so happy for you and for what you've done for the airgun community. Kudos also to Huben for embracing your creativity, and producing this pistol from your vision. I'm going to wait a while before buying the pistol. I want to see it regulated first. Keep on it, man!

    It is virtually perfect to me. I put an aftermarket receiver plate on for a rear mounted red dot and that made a huge difference in accuracy for me. Pretty impressive to get 35-40 shots at 800-825 fps out of that small of a cylinder. Thank you Gregor!

    If you take ur left hand and flip up the safety and wedge ur left thumb between the safety and the pressure gauge. Then Interlace ur right thumb over the left and you get a ROCK SOLID grip with fantastic stability. Oh; index finger underneath trigger guard squeezing up and the w the thumb, push on the gauge with ur thumb. Locks everything in tight. Took a long time to figure out what works the best as far as grip goes and this one has been the best so far.

    I love everything about my GK1 and you Gregor are an inspiration to us all. My only tiny gripe with Huben (if I was to be really picky) is they should have made the rail a Picatinny instead of a Dovetail. 👍🏻

    I suppose the K1 fill port would fit in the front of the air tube? Might get a bit to front heavy but if it is regulated the fill port/cap with pressure gauge would be useful? :-)

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  Рік тому +3

      Yeah, plenty of option, but as you mentioned, K1 fill port with gauge will not only make the cylinder longer and front heavy but also reduce the air capacity as the GK1 end cap is completely hollow. There are ways to make a new fill port pars in the same position as it is now, install the regulator and route the air around it to the tube... But there would be no gauge for unregulated air in that case. Of course pressure gauge is important... but regulated pressure gauge can also be used to know where you are but only once the pressure is under the regulator setting...

Unfortunately, I added a new silencer (moderator) and it blew off as I pulled the trigger. All the internals of the shroud blew off as well, including all the baffles. I do remember when you first presented the prototype and people started bombing you with purchase requests... finally came into production proving that tooth fairy exists. Having already shot 2500 rounds with mine (mainly your's designed casted huben slugs 5.55), I am more than happy with the design operating it at 20 fpe. Following your previous video on trigger adjustment I managed to solve the double shot problem... my gun is a dream now and feels safer. I do agree with you in relation to grip shape and lack of extended rail to the full end of the gun but these are solvable... From my point of view I would like a taller front sight, and a longer back sight for further distance. Extra goodies I am thinking for mine involves a heavy muzzle end with upward exhaust openings to better control rising of the barrel, and a light pistol red dot... Currently I practice shooting at 25-35 m standing, I want to be regulatly able shooting shot gun catridges at 40-55 m... Its great fun (especially I one casts his own ammo)

      I have the reg set to 170 bars on my prototype. I get about 50 joules (37 fpe) max in .25 cal... the rule how to know the power you will get is if you take unregulated pistol / rifle and see what you get at the pressure you intend to set the regulator, and then if the plenum size is "appropriate", you will get about 80 - 90 % of that power...

    Hello from Croatia! I'm a 10m air pistol shooter, that's my discipline. How accurate this pistol actually is if you compare it to well known brands like Walther, Steyr...etc.? I really like the mag. option and the pistol is very stylish and beautiful. I understand that this has a LOT of power, which is very tricky for high level precision shooting. Where in EU is this pistol available for purchase?

      Pistol can be set to any power required from about 10 j up to 100 joules or more. It is not regulated though and also, since it is sem auto, it shoots from the magazine. These two facts contribute to most of its inaccuracy. It is very accurate but I would not use it for competition shooting. Pistol might not be always available, you might need to preoder it. Great juxtaposition review of your "original" GK1 versus the new production iteration! What are your thoughts on the loading mechanism? I think having the GK1 designed with a more accessible open gate version would have made loading much more easier and quicker. I'd be interested in your thoughts on some of the deeper mechanics and potential weak points, such as the tank being able to move about when the pressure is low; or any other weak materials that may need to be replaced with something more durable, such as the mag release lever breaking. But other than these issues and some others, I'm in firm agreement with you that this is an excellent pcp in its' first gen model and suspect Huben will improve on any moderate shortcomings in future iterations.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  Рік тому +1

      I will try to cover as much as possible on the disassembly video I plan to record. In my mind, there is one weak point of the Huben valve design (if we remove the safety issues I already discussed), that if the fact that it is shooting from the magazine. This is something I am mentioning all the time in videos, but is seems that there is not real interest in this. To be clear, this is an issue only concerning accuracy and also, it is not possible to make a gun/pistol that would produce these figures in semi auto any other way. So it is a necessary compromise but I feel that for a pistol, it is more than acceptable compromise. The fact that it is shooting out of the magazine simple means that most ammunition will spiral in flight and that it will be very pellet/slug and also alloy hardness picky. But for pistol, where you only typically shoot at about 20 meters, this effect will not be noticeable.

      That is up to Huben, but there might be limitation due current pistol design. The magazine does not have much more space for bigger holes. Also, the valve system air pass through would start to be a limiting factor although that would not make much difference for a pistol barrel length. Huber would need to redesign the magazine and the action a little bit to be able to do so.

      Not sure exactly what you expect to see in this kind of video, but I explained in in many videos and if you want confirmation, you can ask Huben as well. They don't hide the fact that they developed the pistol based on my idea. I contacted them shortly after I developed my prototype and suggested them to develop it. It took sime time for them to decide they will develop it and then they asked me not to reveal this to the public. We were in cooperation ever since although the final design was completely up to them. Hi. If I understand correctly, when you finished filling the pistol with compressor, the air rushes back to the compressor before you have a chance to disconnect the hose? That could be a one way valve problem. Maybe you can try one thing: When you are finished with charging, bleed the hose very rapidly. Sometimes, the one way valve need a bit of a kick to close. I doubt if it has anything to to with o rings as they prevent the air to escape between the gaps of charging adaptor and your Pistols air tank both ways so you couldn't even let the air in if o rings were not OK or missing. Something internally in your gun isn't functioning.ask the the creator of gk1 to push his company 😉 to be responsible in quality control. I didn't expect a huben pistol has this problem as we always tackle with kral and hatsan and other Turkish Airguns this sort of problems. I believe I have explained this in the video. You can remove the screw fully and the pistol will still function but it might dump air at lower pressure because the valve is too opened. The screw will not go out because of the smaller hole in the grip, but it will clearly reach max opened state before that happens.

In other words at a point of diminishing return you shouldn't open it up any further, that's the point I'm looking for. Can I open it 3 1/2 turns? 4 turns?

      Compressors for scuba tanks are typically able to go over 300 bars but they typically have built in safety valve at 300 or 330 bars. If that safety valve is replaced, they can go higher. The safety valve is there to protect your scuba tank/bottle, and those typically go to only 300 bars. I think finding a scuba tank that can be filled to more than 300 bars will be a bigger issue.
      But there is no need to fill to 350 bars (5000 PSI). The pistol if perfectly happy if you fill it to 300 bars or even less. The only time I filled it to 350 bars was to make the "power" video and I used Huben pump to do that. Otherwise, I just fill it up to 300 bars max from my scuba tank.

      The Yong Heng compressor Is rated for 300 bar but the burst disc won't pop until about 400 bar so the few seconds it takes to fill from 300 to 350 bar every now and then is no problem. Been filling my K1 quite a few times and the only problem so far was that I found out that one of the couplings on the fill hose was not correctly crimped, it came loose and whipped my leg but the hose is thin and I don't bruise easily so it didn't even leave a mark. :-) The hose is rated at WP 630bar so no problem there. However I do not recommend doing this unless you are absolutely sure about what you are doing, due to the small volumes of air it is not very dangerous if you take the necessary precautions. It pumps pretty fast so the set pressure version is recommended as you can then adjust it higher bit by bit until it finally cuts at about 350bar. Or you can use the handpump from 300 to 350 bar, doesn't take many strokes to fill that little tank. :-)

    First of all I have to appreciate for your amazing source of information in the form of honest and professional videos in your channel specially about huben products.I want to consult with you and ask for your opinion as I want to buy my first huben k1 between mainly two items.
    First one is the in my city second hand airgunshop which offers a second hand 2021 synthetic model(unlike you I prefer synthetic) which they have a weird claim that it delivers 150 joules of energy.according to my last bargain they settle with the 1818 euros(without scope and cylinder..). The advantage of this option is the accessibility of dealer as I have purchased a tuned puncher breaker from them 3 months back which was an easy buy.I am gonna attach their pictures and a short video of it.
    Second option Is from a dealer living in another city who has 2023 models which the synthetic one is 1745 euros and a second hand of wooden special edition which I guess it's a 2021 model with price tag of 1618.
    In my first option I have to just call an Uber to go check with a chronograph and shoot 2 magazines(or any other examination you recommend) and Uber it back. But in 2023 cases I have to take a flight in morning travel for approximately 1.5 hours check the gun fly back and send the gun separately as I can't move it via air, which is gonna cost me 55 euros+.and extra risks.
    I appreciate in advance your kind consultation and advises.

      Hi, I am a bit sceptical about the 150 joules claim. In my experiences, you can get 140 max... Maybe at over 200 bars on the regulator, it is possible... Regarding tests, make sure the regulator is operating properly, if possible chorny the shots to see consistency. Other than that, just obvious things like correct semi auto operation, no air dumps, no leaks (you will probably not get a chance to check for slow leaks...). Regarding which option, it is hard to say but if you don't have much experiences with servicing airguns or similar hand crafts, it is good to have a person how can do maintenance / service relative close by... Huben is a relative complex gun. I try to help people as much as I can remotely, but that has it limitations of course.

      Thanks it was very helpful so I have to hit the nearest despite the thrill of risks to get my hand on 2023 model rather than 2021 one. It is tempting and another issue is the lack of pressure gauge on 2021 air tank. I may see it as an issue.I searched your name and surname to find any email address in your name to send the pictures and short videos of respected Airguns.the email was from a cargo like company. Something like car bones.😉

    This is not really semiautomatic. It is a revolver type mechanism.A fully semi automatic mechanism uses a blow back of gas to feed the next bullet into the chamber.

    • @gregorkamensek3923
      @gregorkamensek3923  Рік тому +4

      Actually, that is not true. Yes, the revolver action is not semi auto because even though you can continuously fire it by pulling the trigger (presuming it is a double action revolver), you actually rotate the cylinder and cock the hammer by pulling the trigger. But there are semi auto revolvers (firearms) on the market as well (although very rare). An example is Mateba Autorevolver. Huben GK1 is similar in operation to such revolver. GK1 "re-cocks" and rotates the magazine using the energy of the pressure from the magazine. Si it is a genuine semi auto operation (air operated) revolver.

    It's cool but not practical.
    Too big to carry and too small for home defense, too expensive to just keep in the car.
    Edit:
    Yeah, they took too long to release it. In that time, foldable stocks, and pistol air rifles came out.

      Yeah, you are right in all points, but it was never meant to serve as a self defence carry pistol. If fact, US is one of the few parts of the world where that is even allowed :)

    I really don't understand the UGLY trigger guard on the production model. They really messed it up there. It's not a deal breaker but a barrier to purchase as many would be hesitant to drop 2k on an ugly gun. Fix the trigger guard and it would look much nicer and tip over many people to purchase

      Yeh, I had an issue with it at first as well, but now I am OK with it. Funny, I made a trigger guard like that 10 years ago on my semi auto airgun and I did not like it there either :)

      @@gregorkamensek3923 that's because you have an eye for design as well as talent in engineering Gregor! I will buy one when they fix the trigger. I've talked to multiple enthusiasts about it and they all agreed no joke. It'd be nice if you could pass this onto Huben as they don't really listen to random customers like me. Appreciated as always man.

      @@fizzleshizzle8314 I already passed it forward even before the pistol was released. They showed me a prototype picture and I made some suggestions. This was one of them. Actually, I in general suggested that all the design features that are angled from back side down towards front side up to be changed in different direction (also on the shroud). That would look more aggressive and I specially commented the trigger guard that also have this slope and I suggested a change...

      @@fizzleshizzle8314 I am sure that any manufacturer will listen to customers if there is a large enough base of potential users / customers that would like a specific change. Since there is no technical reason for the changes you suggest, all you need to do is to gather enough people and submit this to Huben and you will probably convince them to make V4 + with those changes. I wish you good luck. I can help you in the final stage when it needs to be presented to Huben.

    Really nice job! Your pistol brought me back to airguns after 30 years..., even if it costs, in my country, the equivalent of US$ 4,000.00 a piece. Yes, you've 'heard' me right. Anyway, price tag apart, I just love it!
