Ekko/Heimer and Jayce were each sent to different timelines/realities to show them what they needed in order to go back to their own and to try and save it. Ekko needed to be reminded that even in his darker timeline, there were people worth saving, that there was a path to a brighter future. Heimer needed to have his stagnant and reactive viewpoint jarred in such a way that he would go against his sometimes prohibitively cautious nature and take action to help stop it at any cost. Jayce needed to see the full consequences of his meddling in the Arcane so that he would have the strength kill his best friend who, no matter what, would eventually be consume but that power. It is also important to understand the outcomes of S2,Ep6; - Isha's sacrifice neutralized the Vander/Warwick beast - Singed (shimmer scientist dude) could still use what was left of his monster to help Viktor survive but at the cost the remnants of all the people Viktor has "saved" in his creepy little hivemind; including the progress he had made on Vander. -Jayce's attack on Viktor would have killed him if not for the meddling of Singed -Singed fusing the "apex" shimmer blood from Warwick with the "apex" hextech in Viktor's dying form is what made him survive but it kind of obliterated the last bit of Viktor's humanity (or willpower) to resist or redirect the natural impulse of the hextech core. All that was left was this hextech corrupted vision of what Viktor wanted for his people. By saving Viktor, Singed was able to secure a method that may assist in his research to "cure death". From the moment Jayce fused Viktor's dying body with the hextech core in S2,Act1,Ep1 Viktor's humanity was on a timer. Singed mentions it in S2,Act2, E6. Every person that Viktor cured or helped with his power was essentially draining away his humanity, taking away their freewill and strengthening hextech's innate consumptive impulse since Viktor would eventually be too weak to control it. Edit: Andrew nailed it.
Ok, now that we know what Jayce saw in the future, can we now acknowledge he may have had a good reason for blasting Victor through the chest meat like he did?
they basically just announced a 'spinoff series' that will take place is Noxus. You guys said you wanted to know more about The black rose so that will answer all your questions.
@ no, they did the same thing with arcane. They are announcing updated skins and the new season but this stuff will 100% be linked to the new show they'll make.

My understanding is that Sky is basically the embodiment of Viktor’s remaining humanity, which he has now chosen to sacrifice by doing the thing he wouldn't in episode 6: killing Vander in order to ensure his own survival Because Viktor's intention is still to help humanity, but he has now come to believe that he must live no matter the cost in order to do this, and also that humanity cannot be helped until he removes the thing that makes them hurt themselves and each other in the first place: their emotions. Then they will only make the most logical choices to achieve peace and prosperity and scientific progress (this is what his speech at the end of episode 6 was about)
in case there's any confusion about Mel and her mom, this is what I gathered I'm pretty sure what Ambessa meant by "I did what you could not, for you" was that the Black Rose came looking for her child after finding out (somehow) that they were born with magical abilities. Kino went in too deep trying to find out Ambessa's history with them, so she had to 'forsake one child, to save another' i.e give up Kino to save Mel, who ACTUALLY had the gift. Ambessa despises mages since they violate all core Noxian principles, so she wanted to use runes that could negate magic and wield an undying army to ensure she & her family were never again at their mercy.
Arcane was really good at dropping a few of those moments to really make you cringe and cause a lasting impact. The boy Jayce killed in the shimmer factory hitting the floor; the Mercury Hammer breaking Jayce's leg. That last moment of Viktor's final evolution was the hardest-hitting for me, though. Absolutely skin-crawling stuff when his face splits as the last of his humanity is torn away. Body horror done really bloody well. Also, I'm not surprised that you were a bit confused about Viktor here. A lot of his story arc ended up as very much a between-the-lines sort of thing and is one of a couple of areas where the season really needed a couple more episodes to expand on it (the showrunners wanted to, but they were refused no matter how hard they pushed). It's never explicitly stated, we just get crumbs of it as the whole show goes on. But, it's heavily implied that the Arcane (or SOMETHING) has been influencing him. Viktor spent the most time in the lab closest to the Hex crystals, especially once Jayce was made a councillor. The "whispers" started and influenced him to make the Hexcore. All Viktor ever wanted to do was make life better for people, especially in Zaun and at his core, he wanted to survive to accomplish this; it was why he hyper-fixated on the possibilities of the Hexcore in the first place. After, when it was mutated and had evolved, he tried to destroy it. Yes, he couldn't bear to actually do it. But, he still THOUGHT about doing it. Despite being able to run along the docks a few scenes before, the Hexcore punishes him for this betrayal and he collapses when it induces pain in his augmented leg and also zaps him in the head. The next we see of him, he is using his crutch again, as heavily as he ever did. Once he's fused with the Hexcore, his thoughts and opinions are ultimately of his own making, but I always got the impression that it's a bit like he's high or inebriated; his ideals and dreams twisted into almost unrecognisable versions. Then, as time has gone on and the Arcane took him over more and more with each augment, he got more and more radical and even his mannerisms changed; he spoke rather informally and was one of the most facially emotive characters, at first. By the time Vi and Jinx meet him, his speech is really formal and almost overly eloquent. Until, eventually, he decides to do away with his humanity altogether. Humanity is the root of all feeling, both good and bad; ultimately the cause of all his suffering, and therefore of everyone else's too. If everybody were of one mind, there would be no more war: No more suffering. No more death. Humanity will survive. But then. What is the point of surviving, if you cannot live?
You're not supposed to know it's the same timeline until you watch the last episode, even if it's heavily implied and Jayce himself is convinced of it. You just spoiled yourselves 😂. Nothing major though. Personally I was extremely against Victor the second they showed he could take over his cult members' bodies. Nope to creepy hive minds.
16:45 the pacing is the one thing truly holding this season back. They crammed way too much into one season. They should’ve had at least another season
"the cause of our greatest good, and our greatest evil.... to sides of the same coin"... sentimentality.. feelings.... hate and love. what if got rid of those? would we achieve our maximun potential? would we achieve... the glorious evolution?
Maybe because I'm a gay guy, but the..."explicit" scene with Cait and Vi in the jail cell did not really move me. That might also be because the cell housed Vi's sister who VERY CLEARLY was going to commit irl deletion, so them doing the deed...doesn't feel that great 😅
@nedzed3663 I mean, that's basically what the scene is 🤣 Like, okay, I wouldn't have an issue if Cait got Vi out of the cell, and they did in like the hall, or something It's really the cell and the context of Jinx's last words to Vi that ruins the mood for me
Vi had taken way too much punishment and needed to feel something good in her life for once, this is especially apparent when Vi says to Caitlyn "I don't fucking care." It easier for us to judge Vi for not trying everything to go after her but if you were in her position...? Everyone has a breaking point.
@@nedzed3663 Like, Cait can still say her line, but then it hard cuts to her bed or something Like, they didn't need to do it IN THE CELL where Vi's sister was very distressed and broken for a period of time 🤣🤣

It strikes me that Cait is begging Just me to give her an excuse for Mercy. But Jin’s had given up and resigned herself to the noose.
