I was going to do this. What a pain in the ass. 8 hours is more valuable to me than buying a set. Thank you for showing a detailed video. I really appreciate it. What wheels are those by the way? They look great!
thanks man. It was something that I honestly really debated for a while and decided against it. Now I have an STi that already has C lights so I guess it worked out 😁

To tell you the truth, I do remember saying that my lights were dim. But, I honestly don't remember if it was because of the paint. The bulbs are pretty weak on it anyway. I bought some LED's shortly after and it was perfect.

I am fairly certain the seal around the headlights can be reused and those lights were designed to be separated without heating. The rest of the video was very good.
I tried...a lot... Trust me. I actually got a headache from straining so much trying to pull them apart There's absolutely no way unless you're the Rock. I finally caved and put them in the oven.
Do not put your headlight in the oven while preheating your headlight. Some oven will use max power to preheat, so it will melt your headlight

That looks sick, i'm going to do this as well!
saw on another video, if you want the c light to stand out don't paint the reflector where the c light seats.
👍
Any issues years later? I'm considering doing this to my 2021 Base WRX, otherwise I might buy the Subispeed ones
Sold the car a while back but no issues for the year that I owned it
You should have installed the LED c light while you had them taken apart
Didn’t want to because my friend did it…and then one side crapped out on him and so he had to take it apart again.
@@CarModGuy good point. Headlights look nice btw🔥

@@CarModGuy Oh damn!🔥🔥🔥 I have a WRX. enjoy that EJ Subie rumble🔥🔥
Will you now wrap them in black tint?
No. Got pulled over once for having tinted headlights. They weren't even badly tinted. No ticket, just a warning.
how long did you let the paint sit before putting it back together
I let it sit overnight.
Good job, what brand is ur front lip?

Looks nice. Just like mine. You didn't add the c light?
Nice, I love the rims too what are they?
Thanks. XXR 527s
Does this effect brightness?

@@CarModGuy what leds did you go with?

What kind of glue did you use
Which black paint did you use? Flat, satin, or gloss?
Flat I believe
URGENT: you actually don't need to bake these headlights, Subaru made them so you don't have to.
Well I tried without baking...for like half an hour...and it didn’t work for me
@@CarModGuy Yeah, I just did them 1.5 weeks ago and didn't have to bake them. I have a 2016, so maybe the adhesive was weakened more than your 2018.
I did this within the first few months of buying the car. The last thing that I wanted to do was to bake them.
@@CarModGuy The good thing is the lights look bad ass! That's all that matters.
Jason F trruuueee that. I have no idea how chrome is cheaper than black or who in their right mind said “hey lets do chrome “
