Now I want a Legend of Zelda Lego game even more.
It could be amazing!! Heck... it could be the closest thing to a more traditional 3D Zelda we can probably expect in the foreseeable future.
Take my money Nintendo.
“Unfortunately it’s a mixed bag” “repetitive and dull” do people watch the video before they comment?
It depends on many factors. If it's Zelda, it should be open world like Lego City Undercover for example.
And a lego mario game tbh 😊
I like the idea of making cool lighthearted Lego jaunts of otherwise serious games! Plus open world games can be scary and long, having a short alternative is a neat idea
Final Fantasy Lego?
🤔That would be interesting
Lego Gears of War! Loads of blood red bits flying off of chainsaw victims!
Lego The Last of Us 😂
Some of the Negatives that were mentioned are par for the course for LEGO games. So, if you like/Love LEGO games you will be right at home with this one. Can't wait to get this
This exactly. My main concern was whether or not Sony would care enough to make the switch version run well. Glad they seem to have optimized it well.
i might even get it for both consoles. PlayStation and switch
Nah I love a lot of LEGO games but this game ain't it. This is a PS plus game in no time so I'll wait
@@presidentc4are you sure it's coming out on ps plus?
@@presidentc4
Whilst i disagree with subscribing services (renting games and not owning them) I do agree with the fact that this game has absolutely zero Travellers Tales charm embedded into it. It’s a good standalone but I really don’t want this to be the new lego direction.
I bought HZD launch day back on PS4 and I loved it. I have HZD and HZD:FW on steam and of course I have LEGO Horizon adventure on switch.
Ah yes, the humble hybrid console with over 100 million units sold.
Humble hardware compared to PS5 and especially PC.
@@leatherworkstation why compared the Switch against the PS5 or PC? In my opinion the Switch is better than both PS5 and especially PC where if matters most, in the games, neither PS5 or especially PC have the library of exclusives that the Switch has and it’s sold 146 million units for a reason.
@Adamtendo_player_1 because they're the hardware the humble comment is in reference to.
The PS2 is humble compared to the Switch and that's sold 160m units and has an even more impressive library. Doesn't mean from a technical perspective it's not down on power.
There is one costume in LEGO Horizon adventure that intrigues me with possible switch 2 game franchise. After you open the costume shop (very early in game) in the premium tab (I think it's called) there is a Sackboy costume. Sackboy is the main character from the very successful Little Big planet franchise on PlayStation. Just thinking about having a little Big planet type of game (I believe Little Big planet 1 and 2 are dead now, the servers were shut down long ago) on switch 2. Or even a Mario maker type game in the style of Little Big planet.
There is ratchet and clank costumes as well so its just fan service.
Woah, Aloy from Genshin Impact got her own Lego game?
No, from the Horizon franchise
@@marcch72Aloy from Genshin Impact has her own franchise?
@@randombread1456perfect rebuttal lmao
I think the couch co-op is what will make this game shine and make it worthwhile
Nice to see lego games going back to a locked camera.
"A franchise that always took itself a bit too seriously"
Have you played the Horizon games? Sure the main story arc is serious and they nail the dramatic moments better than pretty much everything, but they're full of funny characters and sidequests, and even within that main serious quest there are light hearted moments. It's not a depressing game, as Aloy says, it's about hope.
Even Aloy, despite everything she's going through, is mostly amusing in the interactions she has with everyone who isn't being an ass with her.
Yeah that was weird to hear in the review, idk if they played the actual series or not
He doesn't have played it, Aloy says funny things over the game
idk $60 for this lego game is steep should've been $39 retail price
It likely will be in a few weeks. Lego games tend to drop in price almost as fast as Ubisoft titles.
Agreed
It get harder for penny pinchers each year. gaming goes niche
LEGO Horizon Adventures on Nintendo Switch: because building real life stuff is hard...and expensive. Is it Worth the brickin' price tag? Watch to find out!
Actually you aren't wrong, LEGO is very expensive collecting hobby
There's no Depth of field in Zelda: Echo of Wisdom or Link's Awakening. They are just gradient blur at the top and bottom of the screen. It's just an overlay - it's fake. This game however uses real DoF - it's Unreal Engine 5.
Somehow Horizon doesn't really feel like a good fit for LEGO since it was always about a lot of characters and customizable figurines.
I find it an odd combination as well tbh.
Horizon was practically made for Lego with all the machines
I feel like the game needs to be longer, so hopefully maybe they give us dlc's like the Frozen Wilds from the first Horizon Game!
Im playing right now and I LOVE IT! This new age logo game is so damn fun.
This game seems get a lot hate but I'm about to pick up my preorder and as a 40 yrs old man into mostly hardcore shooters and sports titles and songs heavy hitters I'm looking forward to a light hearted beautiful world game playing as Lego aloy. I think it's well a perfect game for the oled switch !
Not my cup of tea (or coffee), but glad you're having fun.
Is this 8 hour game worth two hours of my day at work? Yes
I don’t know. As someone who doesn’t much care for Horizon and doesn’t mind a short and easy game from time to time, this one looks pretty charming
I’ll wait until this hits that $5-$10 price on Switch if it’s only 8 hours long. Looks great though and looking forward to getting this one for the kids
😂😂😂 penny pinchers jajaja
@ Heck yeah man. I like to buy games on sale. I make enough not to take that approach but the sales happen too often with too many good games on the market not to wait.
When are they porting Sleeping Dogs to Switch?
Do you really have a dog sleeping.
That game was super fun on the Xbox 360 and it should work well on the Switch! ..But maybe all the licensed songs is causing a problem?
@@geminijinxies7258 It's available on the Xbox Series. My guess is that Square Enix is the problem
Or the now defunt united front games no longer exists?@@geminijinxies7258
Not surprising that a Lego game would be repetitive. That's usually the thing that kills them for me.
I've been wanting this game for awhile, and seeing a Sonys IP game on Switch is crazy cool! The game looks fun and doesn't look bad for the switch port, I may pick this one up sense I didn't bother with Test Drive Unlimited nor Funko Fusion.
I was just shocked to discover that this is a £60 game here in the UK. That is equivalent to $76 USD, which is crazy to me. I thought as it’s a Nintendo/ PlayStation partnership it would go for what most full price games are here which is £50 or $63 USD but no it has been priced the same Zelda TOTK which was our first £60 Nintendo game and since then most of even the Nintendo games that have come out have still remained the usual £50 including the recent Zelda Echoes of wisdom and Mario & Luigi brothership both of which are on offer for £40 or $50 USD currently which is surprising but how they think a Lego game regardless of which franchise it is is worth £60 I don’t know. I’m waiting for a sale for this one even if it takes a while as this pricing is crazy. The game looks fun but not £60 fun.
Mental. I would have assumed it would be around £40, definitely not more expensive than a standard switch game
If you want to save money, don’t buy your game from Nintendo buy your game from Amazon instead which most of the time they are cheaper but buying these games directly from Nintendo you get some cool stuff that you don’t get when you buy elsewhere but I agree with you on this game. This game should not be £60.
Does it play like a twin-stick shooter? If so I think I'm interested.
I'm not really interested in this living up to Horizon. I'm interested because I like Horizon, and watching my kids play play the Lego games has intrigued me. So i guess i don't care how it stacks up against Horizon. How does it compare to other Lego games? The only ones i really have experience with are Harry Potter and SW: The Skywalker Saga. Is the level design distractingly linear and repetitive compared to those? Other than Switch graphics, is there a reason that the PS5 version is better, or does "full far experience" just mean prettier? Are there Lego games you would say, no, get these ones instead?
Still want to play this but going to wait for a sale given the reviews and game length
Do you need a PSN account to play it on switch?
😍 these comments pass the vibe check 😍 Horizon machines are perfect for the Lego treatment
6/10 seems a little too low. More like a 7.
I am going to wait for the sale, not sure how long and how much but I have faith it will be here one day.
Nintendo Life: This game is really simplistic and repetitive
Me, a big LEGO game fan: haha, I love it when they do that.
I guess the "repetitive" nature is good for kids?
At the end of the day its a fun ass video game to be a video game. I dont need a long ass game. There are plenty of them, so for me this is exciting
I played this at EGX. It didn't really hook me.
I love to go back to Lego games to unlock characters and find collectibles but once you finish this rather bland game there seems to be little to no reason to go back to it at all. I'll wait for a Sale I think.
I'll be playing this with my son and in short bursts, so the repetition aspect should be mitigated
I would love to get this, but the asking price is so high for a game so short.
“Dull level design” what game are you looking at because this game looks incredible.
It's not about what it looks like, but what it feels like to play it. It's too repetitive according to the reviewer, no matter how pretty it looks. In fact, they complement the visuals AND the performance on the Switch.
I’ve been playing it on PS5, and while the level design is commendable, the simplicity clearly caters to a younger audience rather than seasoned gamers. I’m not expecting a sophisticated Horizon experience reimagined in LEGO form-if I want that level of depth, I’ll revisit Horizon Forbidden West, which I still need to complete. If you have younger siblings give it a go makes it so much more fun.
Wonder why theres a switch version but not for ps4, kinda odd
Sony is forcing their fans to pick up the PS5/Pro versions to sell the newer consoles.
@@atomicsamurai9742 the PS4 is literally 10 years old. You have to let it die at some point.
Y'all be reviewing everything except Ace Combat lol
Is it worth 60 dollars for having repetitive gameplay?
6 - 8 hours of repetitive content is a pass for me. I love Horizon, but this just doesn't sound all that great.
Sounds just like the original game when you put it that way. Though horizons is more like 80 hours of repetitive shallow content.
I love Lego and horizon but $50+ for a 6 to 8 hour game. I'll wait for cheaper but it is a pretty game and I want to play it.
In my mind, there is nothing wrong with a short and… eh, simple game. But it’s the fact that it’s a full priced game, and is 6-8 hours long is what kills it for me.
@@owRekssjfjxjxuurrpqpqssthis is a take that I will never understand, but go off I guess
@arpeggioblue yep, just finished a 75 hour 100% run on Zero Dawn and Frozen Wilds, and it wasn't repetitive at all, unless you think the core concept of a game being done multiple times is repetitive? But then everything is repetitive, GTA "all you do is drive cars and shoot stuff", CoD "all you do is shoot stuff", Dark Souls "all you do is dodge, die, and hit stuff".
Probably one of the most engrossing and interesting worlds you could play a game in with gameplay mechanics that reward strategy and exploration.
Sounds fun but reckon this will go on sale pretty quickly in the new year!
I didin't believe that I'll see the day when Sony's IP like Horizon game is on Nintendo Switch too I think it was possible because this is a lego game, but it's still hard to believe this is true Horizon Lego Adventures game on Switch! Normally i'm not interested about of a lego games, but now i'm a little interested of this because it's Horizon, on Switch and looks surprisilly fun, but 70€ for a lego game is just too much in my opinion, this should pay 45$-55$ still this is one of the most interesting game of the year, but i'm not getting it because Mario & Luigi Brothership is next in my list. I think this game's score is 7/10 good game. After Lego Horizon game I would love to see Lego Unchardet or God of War that would be so awesome! 😆
ill wait till its $19.99 😎💯
I’m just so happy to see a Lego game again, and having played the horizon games (Except the VR cause I’m broke to get one) it’s amazing to see a new IP I love get a Lego game so quick is amazing!
Disappointing to hear that because the game aesthetics look amazing.
Wrong Sylens's actor Lance Reddick died before he could record any voice lines for this game !
😂 Sony is always in Nin's shadow. Even tho there is Lego Mario & Zelda toys there isn't a game yet & Sony knew Nin will make it one day so they beat them 1st to get the early money before Nin Lego games take over 😂.
Oh please Sony is still plenty successful
a woman does the work, the man takes the spotlight
Oh yay zions back
Even if it’s a masterpiece, I severely doubt it’ll get the sales numbers they’re looking for
Feels like Sony made it that way to create artificial bias that Switch isn't a profitability platform.
£58 seems incredibly overpriced to me
Imagine a Lego last of us, especially for part 2 lol.
Good review I’m glad I decided to pass on this game even if it does look impressive on Switch.
playing lego horizons on a switch is like tryng to use airpods with an android phone... its wrong
People forget its a game for children
^^^ this
This game is so good. Especially thr coop.
Probably runs at 20 FPS on Switch
Short answer: YES
Shorter answer: NO
@@ian_searyou’ve been outvoted I’m afraid
Blind. How is a 6, a YES, cow's backside?
bit overpriced for just 10 hours of playtime
No
Got it, really enjoyable. Ground breaking? No. Solid and fun? Yes
The writing and world is so cute and funny. Move over og Horizon
Lego Alloy is a baddie 😘
Whenever I hear that name, I think of Aloe Vera.
I hear Zion, I like.
Nice 👍
The way you review games comes to the point where you shouldn't even be allowed to review them anymore let someone else do it. Lego Games have always been repetitive your always finding small lil nick picks that shouldn't even really affect your gaming experience.
Mario Odyssey was repetitive and i beat that game three times over so your nitpicking and biased i win bye bye - dunkMaster3000
teaming up with Nintendo to make Horizon Zelda style instead of Lego
would've been an instant buy from me
Like that would really happen, lets be realistic.
That would never happen.
@ when sony gets tired of the west, it could be possible with the right mediator
@@Prodbyrichwood oh shut up lol
@@otherprisma7354 tf wrong, you ok?
Look at those fun FPS drops! Gotta love a weak ass system 😂
Disappointing that it’s just a retelling of the original
That’s… have you played a Lego game before? They’re all retellings
@ that’s fine if they’re based off of movies or other media, but making a Lego game based off an already existing game, with the same story and dumbed down gameplay doesn’t make any sense
@@mweeee it makes total sense, that’s what Lego games are
