Very sad to see what's become of Stoke on Trent. So much architectural vandalism and economic mismanagement. I suppose the Daily Heil is still as full of it today, some things never change.
We've lost, or almost lost, most of our major industries i.e. coal, steel, and pottery. Cutbacks in government grants. Online shopping resulting in. shops closing and consequently the loss of business rates Lots of reasons. Almost a perfect storm.
And emigrants destroyed the culture and replaced by there’s churches converted into Mosques what do you expect we are being replaced you have to be blind not to see it.shame we will never recover from this our country has been destroyed.
Lovely photos !Has anyone got any old photos of Bryan Street, Hanley when there were houses there. My great grandparents lived there.
I'll be posting some more soon
I can remember some of those places.
Loved the old baths. Used to scoop the cockroaches out before could swim in there
Yes I too remember the cockroaches in the swimming baths. Particularly Burslem!
