Just heard this same program tonight in Dallas. An amazing experience. The lushness of the Ramaeu was
unexpected and swept me away. This guy wrings so much music from the composition, if you know what I mean. The Mozart was bright, yet had an ache, an undercurrent of melancholy. The Mendelssohn was thrilling. An incredible evening.
I heard the same one in Madrid a few months ago. It was truly amazing

Ich liebe es, wie einfühlsam Daniil Trifonov Rameau interpretiert ! Das ganze Programm dieses außergewöhnlichen Konzerts ist wunderschön zusammengestellt und sehr anspruchsvoll, was er aber wie immer brilliant meistert ! Beethoven' s Hammerklavier , eine grosse Herausforderung für jeden Pianisten spielt er sehr eindrücklich und wunderschön , als Meister des Pianos . Die Encores einfach bezaubernd !
Ich hatte das Glück das ganze Konzert als Live Stream zu bekommen, samt Interview mit Daniil, und Kommentaren der Veranstalter . Die Carnegie Hall war voll ausverkauft ,und mehr als 100 Zuhoerer bekamen sogar Plätze auf der Bühne selbst. Leider ist das Konzert nur mit Standbild gesendet.
Daniil machte beim Interview einen sehr glücklichen und ruhigen Eindruck. Seine Freude über diesen letzten Auftritt war nicht zu überhören .
Versuchen Sie doch über Face Book " Daniil Trifonov" ob Sie es erhalten können . Es ist klanglich besser, und auch die kurzen Pausen zwischen den einzelnen Stücken eingehalten.
Hoffe, Sie finden den Zugang ! ❤
Übrigens wurde Daniil mit Standing Ovations gefeiert!

I was there too, it was an amazing experience. Sometimes I come back here to listen to it again, especially the Rameau Gavotte and 6 doubles, that's become one of my favourite pieces.
Many thanks to BARRON de SCHLÖZER! It´s a really a great thig for me to see and to hear DANIIL TRIFONOV, one of my favourites on the piano, with the same program he played in Munich only some few days later. His concert was a big sensation in the local press, too.

Zuerst muss ich mich korrigieren: München war vorher, nämlich am 6. Dezember in der Neuen Philharmonie); Carnegie, mit vorliegender (leider nur Audio-)Aufzeichnung, also 6 Tage danach, am 12.12.. Mein unmittelbares Erlebnis in der Neuen Philharmonie war natürlich großartig, aber auch die hiesige Kritik (SZ, Merkur) überschlug sich vor Begeisterung und streute Superlative aus wie allerschönste Blumen. Mein Vergleich: Trifonov spielte in München noch relativ verhalten, in New York, vor neu-(!)heimischer Kulisse aber freier, gelöster, freudiger - und mit noch mehr Einsatz (heißt, technischer und musikalischer Intensität)... Im einzelnen: Rameau leuchtet bei diesem m.E. zur Zeit weltbesten Pianisten wie ein buntes Kaleidoskop ungeahnter Arpeggien; Mozarts frühe F-Dur Sonate war für mich vielleicht stilistisch etwas "zu" brilliant (und aggressiv?); Beethovens titanisches Hauptwerk, "die" Hammerklavier opus 106, ist "so" performt wohl nicht mehr zu überbieten - Mendelssohns "Variations serieuses" allerdings gestaltet (nach meinem persönlichen Geschmack) ein Sviatoslav Richter (1966 in Brooklyn) noch eindringlicher - und zusammenhängender.@@marionmeyer3622

Вам нрвится его фантастическая музыкальность. Так никто не играл,разве Гульд.Но он,по-моему велик только в Бахе и Бетховине,аТрифонов во всем за,что берется.
Я давно знаю Да ню,еще с конкурса'Щелкунчик,где он выграл золотого Щелкунчика,сыграв 4-минутную бетховенскую каденцию в 1 части 20 концерта Моцарта.Ему было 13лет. Тогда был ТV.
У меня было много виниловых пластинок,но электрофон сломался. В2014 году мой внук 8лет научил меня пользоваться you tube.. и я увидела юного музыканта,играю9
щего 23концерт Моцарта.Он тогда был похож на ангела.Закончилась1часть.,ангел достал из кармана платочек,вытер лицо и руки,началась2 часть...Ангел заиграл,как и следует божественную мелодию.У меня перехватило дыхание и просто брызнули слезы из глаз.
Заканчиваю,итак нащелкала целый 'роман'.Извините, если утомила.Мне летом исполится 72года,а старухи любят поболтать.Ирина

Ja Ihren Danechka,wie Sie ihn manchmal noch nennen, habe ich hierauf You Tube gesehen ,wie er die Mozart Cadenza spielte am Nussknacker Wettbewerb. Damals schon völlig der Musik hingegeben .was für ein gefühlvoller Anschlag schon damals !
Ich sehe ,dass wir auch dies teilen : nicht nur die grosse Liebe zu seiner Musik, sondern auch die Liebe zu Daniil als Menschen. Die Sorge um ihn. Wenn ich das Werk eines großen Künstlers liebe, ist immer auch die Liebe zu dem Menschen dabei. Das Konzert in dem er das Taschentuch hervorzogen, nach einer schüchternen Frage an den Dirigenten berührte mich ebenfalls sehr ! ❤

His Rameau is very different from the one of Sokolov but no less beautiful.
I think Sokolovs Rameau is wayyyy superior. This is tepid and unduly romanticized. Tries to sound improvisatory but is just undisciplined.
@@Pogouldangeliwitz I have to agree. As much as it goes against all principles of music making, sometimes someone achieves something so close to perfection that there seems to be no point in trying something different. However, I wonder why Sokolov has avoided this suite in particular.

The "Hammerklavier" starts at 59' 55". I'm sorry if this sounds naive, but it is the main work in this concert. Shouldn't there have been a longer pause before it, and shouldn't the "more" tell us where each work begins? I'm sure that it can be done even now.

In no outer Concertplace are so much People coughing and making all Kinds of Noise as in this famous Carnegie Hall !
Certainly a truth in it, but ringtones from telefons are definitely not worth becomming a Standard.
Do I mistake or is Trifonov in op 106 technically a bit shaky? Maybe he doesn't play the work for so long or is nervously overwhelmed. In any case, he is not as confident as Sokolov or Pollini in his good years.
His fragile site in this Performance is very charming, I feel. Very simple emotionally, therefore very deep.
The opening bars of Op 106 sounded pretty smudged and blustery to me.
I mean, opus 106 is suuuuper difficult and Le Trif is technically just OK, but nothing to write home about. So no wonder he struggles here. In all fairness, greater musicians than he will ever be have been tested to their limits by the first and the last movement. The fugue is just pure horror. One of the best live renditions of the Hammerklavier I keep coming back too is Alexander Lonquichs. He's no crowd pleaser but unlike Le Trif he's such a profound, thoughtful musician.

Rameau is transitional and lends itself beautifully to what Trifonov brings to it. There are intrinsic flaws in this music due to Rameau's "theories". Trifonov overcomes that, miraculously and plentifully.
I don't think there are "flaws". This music simply requires a pianist like Trifonov or Sokolov to "see"...

For some reason that Rameau suite is a half tone low, whereas the other pieces are on pitch (though a tiny tad low). Does he actually play it in a flat !?
Ia, er spielt das Stück ganz bewusst in e flat minor. Ich hörte das ganze Recital mit einem Interview Daniil Trifonov's in einem Life Stream. Seine Erklärung zu diesem Stück von Rameau war sehr aufschlussreich. Unter Anderem erwähnte er, dass Rameau auf einer Harpsichord komponiert und gespielt hat ( ich denke Sie wissen,dass es im 17 Jahrhundert noch weder Keyboards noch Klavier gab) und das hatte nicht dieselben Qualitäten wie ein heutiges Klavier. Auf Daniil Trifonov ist Verlass. Er weiß genau wie eine Komposition am besten zur Geltung kommt, sein Spiel ist auch immer eine Hommage an den Komponisten und nie eine Selbstdarstellung.

A partir des Variations Sérieuses, M. Trifonov semble pris d’une maladie de vessie, qu’il est pourtant trop jeune pour connaître…C’est dommage car les pages splendides de Mendelssohn se trouvent réduites à l’état de bouillie, l’auditeur perd le contrepoint, la variété des attaques la grandeur tragique du final. Bref un massacre. On pourrait poursuivre avec la Hammerklavier, si vite expédiée qu’on croirait entendre une sonate de Haydn. Et encore, j’aime beaucoup HaydnW cela gâche un Rameau magnifique et un Mozart brillant.
A peu près d'accord. Pour les variations sérieuses, Brendel, what else ? Ici, la délicatesse extraordinaire de cette musique et de Mendelssohn est malmenée au profit d'une virtuosité sans intérêt. Oui, il semble qu'il a une envie pressante. Dommage, ce n'est pas le meilleur Trifonov. Même chose pour le Hammerklavier. Beethoven n'est pas une brute. Et les sonates de Haydn, oh oui, du grand génie et j'ai envie de redire pour elles : Brendel, what else ? Mais cette interprétation du Hammerklavier ne me rappelle rien du délicat Haydn, sur ce point je suis en désaccord avec vous. Je crois plutôt que Trifonov, que j'admire à bien des égards, est ici la victime de cette école russe, qui a fait tant de merveilles, mais n'a jamais rien compris (j'exagère) au romantisme allemand. J'ai entendu en décembre dernier, Anne Queffelec dans les trois dernières de Beethoven. On pense ce que l'on en veut, mais il y avait une intégrité musicale et intellectuelle qui, pour moi, fait la musique véritable. Bien à vous.
@@ZettaufrayMelanie-gx8bc pas forcément Brendel, les versions de Chamayou, de Cortot, d’Horowitz sont merveilleuses, et quelqu’un comme Yuja Wang ( sans parler de Pollini) le bouleverse étonnamment dans la Hammerklavier. Brendel a fait pour moi les disques les plus impeccablement ennuyeux du monde. Non, Trifonov rate, pour le moment, des auteurs majeurs. Ses Debussy sont calamiteux, sans réflexion sur le son, la résonance ; pourtant son op 111 à Lyon, était renversant. Étranges méandres du courant musical.
@@Nicolas-io5hj Eh bien, cher Monsieur, nous ne serons pas d'accord sur Brendel. Ennuyeux ? C'est votre ressenti, pas le mien. Quant à Yuja Wang, je ne la supporte pas, un peu mieux quand même que Buniatishvili. Nous n'allons pas nous écharper pour si peu ! J'ai entendu des choses merveilleuses par Chamayou. Je fais un blocage sur Brendel, je le déplore et reconnais l’immense pianiste qu’il est. Wang, c’est plutôt la surprise d’une tell n profondeur dans l’op 106 que ses tenues de l’Alcazar et des minauderies d’enfant prodige qui m’a frappé. Je pense que nous serons souvent d’accord et m’en réjouis
@@Nicolas-io5hj Cher Monsieur, Il est bon de parler musique avec des gens ouverts, même si les goûts divergent. Je dois avouer que les jeunes virtuoses féminines avec des jupes courtes pour montrer la beauté sculpturale de leurs jambes provoque en moi un blocage, comme vous avec Brendel. Mais je vais essayer d'écouter la 106 par Wang. Pour, peut-être, me débloquer. Mais j'ai un souvenir terrible de Wang dans Mozart. De votre côté, écoutez au moins les sonates de Haydn par Brendel. Ca pétille, humour et profondeur se fécondent mutuellement. Pas d'ennui, je vous le garantis. Pour moi, c'est merveilleux et je ne connais rien de tel dans ce répertoire.

Encore un concours de vitesse .... dommage avec autant de capacités. Couperin estimait qu'il valait mieux pêcher par lenteur que par vitesse (quitte à pêcher !). Après 52mn d'audition ... je renonce. Pauvre Mendelssohn ...
