Thomson Airways - TUI - 787-8 Dreamliner Premium Club Review Edinburgh (EDI) - Sanford (SFB)

- Опубліковано 6 сер 2015
- On the 19th July 2015 Matthew, one of the members of MT Aviation, flew to Sanford, Orlando from Edinburgh on board Thomson's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner G-TUIA in Premium.
On arrival to check-in at Edinburgh airport we were greeted to a nice quick check in with a special desk for premium passengers. With security fast track we blitzed through security and through to the No.1 lounge at Edinburgh which premium passengers get access to. After snack and a hot meal we went to the gate where premium passengers were invited to board first. On boarding we were handed a glass of orange juice or champagne and a hot towel along with a bottle of water. For dinner we were offered chicken or beef along with a salad, desert and bread roll also with a glass of wine or water. This was all served in plates and glasses with metal cutlery. After dinner ice creams were handed out along with snacks such as crisps. There were a great variety of films on offer and the seat was extremely comfortable with a very good recline and footrest along with adjustable headrest and armrest with a tray table. The seat was very soft and had plenty of leg room. The premium cabin was made up of 47 seats and had 2 toilets just for premium passengers. The cabin crew were very pleasant and friendly and were constantly offering drinks.
Overall i was very impressed with the service Thomson Premium club offered and would recommend the upgrade from economy as the perks that are offered add to the thrill of your holiday.

This is great thanks, we just booked premium seats today :))
cool, have a great tip wherever you're going
Super video, we flew TUI to the Dom Rep at begin of Feb, had extra legroom, wasn't to sure what the premium was like, love to go back to the Dom Rep again, but even in the extra leg room was still a little cramped for a 9 hour flight, but your vid on the premium will defo make Dom Rep another holiday, just have to bang in some more OT at work, but defo Premium looks the choice for such a long flight, thanks for all the info, sure looks like more room as back in our bit the layout was 3x3x3, can see its 2x3x2 layout in Premium.
Worth doing if affordable. It's not just the extra room. You definitely get much more seat space, legroom and comfort, but you also get your exec airport lounges, priority check in, fast track security, extra luggage allowance...everything else as well. So makes it a generally less stressful experience. The crew service is more attentive as well in premium.
We flew back from the Dominican Republic in Premium and it was very pleasant, much more comfortable and spacious than ecomony
+rallycorsa1600 glad you had a good flight! :-)
I flew on a 787 draamliner same plane ✈️ I believe it was 787-7 but still felt pretty Nora, but big difference was a lot quieter than most plans still really enjoyed the flight part from the return flight as unfortunately I broke my leg 🦵 and was in a wheelchair for a short period and then crutches not very easy man over or use the toilet on the plane a few kids stood on my stuck but well I’m fine now the 787 Dreamline performers brilliantly and I always enjoy travelling with Thomson’s
Very good informative video... Thanks for posting.
+alan jackson we have another review video coming very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that! :-)
Awesome video!!!
***** thanks
What a terrific video! Thank you so much for the time and effort you've put in to this. Its so helpful and the sort of thing I wish the airlines themselves would provide instead of computer generated, stylised wishful-thinking fantasy images and seating plans that are SO far from the reality of most peoples' actual flying experience!
Just booked a Tui flight on this plane and, having seen your video, am quite looking forward to the flight to Goa!
Great flight review video.
scotrail82 thanks!!
Flying to cancun from Amsterdam soon, the 90euro extra for premium seems like a good deal
yeah, its well worth to for that price
do u get TV etc on this and can you charge phone etc
yes, you get a screen and a USB port
I'm flying to Orlando with them in 3 weeks! I've been once before but I really don't like long haul flights ☹️😊
the seats are so much better
very nice! Looks amazing! Liked!
planemadvideos thanks!!
I’m flying to Mexico next week on this jet, does economy have the tv screens ?
Yes
Do the back row seats recline too?
I fly the 787 as crew. We have a mid-galley at doors 2. Do they only have the two galleys on the TUI 787?
Just booked up to go cancun have booked extra space seating but may pay the extra for premium as get better lugfage allowance too
have a good flight! :-)
Can I ask how much it was to upgrade to premium? Were you able to select your seats? Would rather be seated in a row of 2 and with possibility to leave my possessions in front of my feet xx
+tsunimee I don't know the difference in price but its not too different to economy. row 2 looks excellent, and thanks for watching! :-)
It was £900 return for me and one other to upgrade to and from Barbados in a couple of months. Have known it cheaper but..everything is going up.
What about the seat recline i watch the whole video hoping there would be a segment on how much more recline you get in premium compared to economy
there's a good amount of seat recline, much more than economy, but TUI's economy is good too
Is it worth 400 extra to mexico return ?
I wonder whats the price difference to economy and is it really worth it ?
for us 300 pounds. thats 2 meals (dinner and tea) legroom, unlimited bar, better seats, 2 toilets just for premium passengers, more hand and suitcase luggage it works out cheap. dinner is 4 course meal
Going to Dominican Republic later this year and paid for premium and can choose just now to either sit on the 2 seats at the very front of premium or 2 at the back with no one behind you, any tips ??
row 1 has tv's out of the arm which are at an angle so not perfect. legroom is good enough on other seats so personally go for the back 2.
Go for front or middle. We are going to Jamaica on Monday. Booked premium in July and chose our seats rows 8 and 9. When checking in on line our seats weren't there. After 2 hours on phone and being pushed from pillow to post, we were told they had changed the configuration of plane. Premium only went to rows 7. We have been given premium seats but none of the four of us are sitting together. Great for a 10 hour flight. Well done Tui.
gary miller we had seats in the front row once and the tables and tv's both fold out the armrests which isn't helpful if you have to get up
Really enjoyed this video, we fly into sanford with thomon in may next year, would you say the premium upgrade is worth the money?
Up to a point yes. Its a quieter cabin, better food and overall service, and more space etc, but if you're paying £300 on top per seat, maybe it isn't worth it. Thanks for watching! :-)
Thank you, we decided to opt for the upgrade, we required some extra baggage and would have had to pay to book our seats anyway so once we took this off the cost we paid it worked out around £100 each way, the quieter cabin was what sold it for me, im a nervous flyer so anything i can do to reduce stress really helps me out.
Daniel Knott I find being a member of the mile high club really helps with my stress
Just a question. Do you know why they don't fly to Orlando intl airport
Natzoo cost would be the biggest reason, lot cheaper, and therefore bigger profits
I thought the screens came out from the seat ? Is this on certain models or on a certain row ?
They were the old seats. People complained and so they changed the premium seats for all of TUI/Thomson's 787's. thanks for watching! :-)
Oh I thought the old seats were better
I want to link my iPad to the screen. If I have a movie saved on my iPad can I link it to the screen and watch it that way?
i believe so, although I'm not 100% sure :-)
+MT Aviation thank you
Is this the premium economy class then?
yes
Are there any screens in the front seats ?
yes, they're in the arm rests
Tom Ware i
Beau travail men
thank you
Was this Premium or Economy? I thought in Premium the TVs come out of the armrests too?
+Tom Burnard Premium, Thomson changed the seats after the first summer as they didn't work as designed, thanks for watching
@@MTAviation the original premium seats TUI had were so bad that the passenger by the window or in the centre seat had to climb over the adjacent seat to get out if the seat in front was reclined! 🙂
I am flying to Orlando next year what airline do you prefer Thomson to Thomas cook
If you are travelling in Premium then definitely fly Thomson. If you are travelling in economy, then depends on your group number, what you prefer, food, seats etc, but you can't go wrong with either if I'm honest. Thomas Cook have comfier seats that are wider but 1 inch less legroom, and if you are travelling as a 2 or a 4 then Thomas Cooks configuration is better. But Thomson's long haul aircraft the 787 Dreamliner is far superior in overall comfort. Thanks for watching! :-)
Menouver?
Flaing next year on Dreamliner to cancun, in premium seats. An anyone tell me how the seat recline and an tips for good seats
row 7 has no windows, and row 6 on the right doesn't fully recline due to toilet module behind, other than that, all good seats. seat reclines by pulling a lever, thanks from watching! :-)
Me and the mrs just booked cancun next year debating premium seats
I think for that length off time it will be worth it
+neil robertson been ibiza and zante with thomson always had extra space seat they were always good but yeah this is a long flight so may have to
Naff, obviously a bit over excited
we to have looked into the upgrade but it's a lot of Money and they can't guarantee that you will get two seats together ? like hello.
when you book you will be able to choose your seats. if you book late then there might not be the 2 seats you wanted but there are will mostly be 2 seats together.
we had a situation where we booked extra space seating "too early". It was 11 months ahead of departure but at the time I guess the plane hadn't been decided on so we couldn't select a seat. Later we went to reserve seating to sit together many 6 months ahead of departure and found there was no seating together anywhere in economy, extra space or extra leg room. After much to-and-fro with TUI (and their telling me seating is never guaranteed) the only way to get a seat together at this point was to upgrade to premium at cost, which is what we did and what lead me here - so thanks for the vid! Good to see what we'll be getting.
not sure its worth the extra, but at least we'll be sat together.
Moral of the story, don't pay for upgrades/extra space/extra legroom with TUI unless they explicitly allow you to reserve the seating.
what does it mean when it says plug and.play
you can put a lead from your device into the screens port, and you can put whats in your divide onto the screen.
Jake Ellaby it means your seat has a built in Amp in case you want to play your electric guitar
I just watched a video with G-tuia in it
+Ted Rovai nice aircraft! Thanks for watching! :-)
mt 2 sons and me are going to nl this year
I'm flying to sfb airport from Ncl in 3. Weeks and 6 days
Nice. Have a great trip! :-)
MT Aviation it was amazing, thanks ☺️
YT in the sky Lol
good what economy like
+Ty D economy is very good too. Thanks for watching! :-)
It would be better without the music.
Not convinced by that tbh
+Mark O'Donnell its a premium , so its not as bad as economy but not as good as business, thanks for watching! :-)
Thompson BiH
Cavoglave
+Oliver Pezer wenn kommt: geil!!!
Not worth the extra cost . flew home from Barbados last weekend, cabin crew very unfriendly
carol murray I find that hard to believe as you don't even give an example of how, perhaps you were expecting treatment as if you were flying BA First and were being unfriendly to them because of your own disappointment
Judging by a lot of the reviews online they appear to have a reputation for it
Looks very disappointing and yes the food looked awful! :(
Andrew Moorhouse but it’s tastes amazing :)
