1:28 "You know you love your car when every time you park you look back." Busted! I still drive a 2013 Z4 and still look back at it every time I park. Can't help it, even though the wife keeps saying "why don't you look at me like that?" lol.

Yeah, I have to agree. I also have an E89, and I was so scared that they'd announce the new one it would be so cool and I'd no longer like my "old" E89, but... that didn't happen. Much prefer the E89 design.
yup, the 2019 model is stupidly aggressive. Hey BMW, it's okay to make cars look _beautiful_ instead of "uhhh ahh oomph gonna kill someone" design.

@@colinmack2566 It's interesting how different the E85, E89 and G29 are, all three appeal to totally different drivers. E85 is the true small roadster experience, the E89 is a sporty luxury cruiser and the G29 goes full showoff overkill mode.

You obviously love this car... and I don't blame you. I had a previous generation and found that I couldn't keep it. At 6'5" it played havoc with my back.
I think it's a beautiful car and would happily have this generation ... if only I would fit !
I watched the video after you’d not long bought your Z4, and now this, two years on. Your enthusiasm is brilliant and, having one of these cars myself, I get every bit of it! They’re just brilliant cars - just make you smile! I also have a Z3... whole different car, but equally brilliant despite the older technology!
Hi Nez, recently bought a 2012 28i after a lot of searching. Watched a lot of videos and reviews but in particular enjoyed your Z4 passion and videos as well as 'It'sJoel' videos. Your interest and passion in your car kept me motivated whilst looking for my car. Bought as a 'Sunday' drive I manage to find time to drive it every day. Love it. Keep up the good work and enjoy, in particular, your Z4 content.

Nice video !!! Great car !! I like your enthusiasm and I can understand why.You sound like a great guy. I, myself, have a 35is ,white with black leather and aluminium trim same as yours.19 inch wheels , sport suspension, extended light package etc...all the bells and whistles (comes standard on the 35is models) You should consider getting one. You'll love it. When I'm out driving it's always a toss up as to listening to the great sound system inside the cabin or listening to the engine roar on the outside. Happy motoring

Love my E89.
Noticed the same thing about the seat belt. Black shoe polish works well to recolor. A leather protector reduces the damage.
The E89 looks much better than the new Z4 in my opinion. I like that BMW let's them look different than the others in the lineup.
+Zimba Motoring get a icarly OBD reader. I believe there is a option once you go in the OBD to program the car so you can also close the top with the remote. My 3 series windows went down with the remote control but didn't go up. I bought the icarly and programmed it to go up. Its not that hard all you have to do is check the box options and that's it. There were a ton of options to program all sorts of things that BMW left out. you can even get a digital speedo on the dash too. check it out
Great vid - thinking about buying one of these. Would have been good to know a bit more about which engine this has, and your servicing costs over the 2 years… but man, the shape of yours so much better than anything in BMWs current lineup.

Re: cup holders, they added an extra one in the states that plugs into the side of the center console .... because Americans love their cup holders.
Yeah, I was wondering why he didn't have the "real cupholder" on the passenger-side like in mine.. must be something they did for us slovenly Americans, but I'm glad they did :)

Good vid +1 mate. Z4 is a head turner that's for sure. Where I live in West Yorkshire, I've not seen a Z4 for over 2 years, but I see quite a few Audi TT around.
My e46 has the auto dimming mirrors also. It's a seriously underrated feature of BMWs. I don't know how common it is now on other cars but it was a godsend to me when I bought my e46.

I have the 2016 Z4 35I M version of your car. LOVE IT. Also black on black. The car looks like no other car on the road, everyone calls it The Bat Mobile ! Sleek, unique, and stately. LOVE IT.

The car can be coded to close the Convertible Top & Windows Up with the key, outside the car... It is done like you said by holding the Lock Button down on the Key Fob.
Same goes for the closing of the windows & sun roof with keyfob on an E90 or E92.
HOWEVER, an option needs to be changed by many call coding or basically just changing options that arent able to be changed in the car without normal methods. A coder will use with a K/Dcan(OBD2) to USB cable and a PC laptop. It takes 10 minutes to do and is easy and very straightforward. You can also change some other settings like some cool options in the I drive, digital speedo, ASD off, etc...

Do you still have the car 2 years after the 2 years? Do the seats do any sort of reclining at all? Can 2 small people fit in 1 seat? #AskingForAFriend
Amien Phillips e89 35i is a great car, great engine! I still have the car, it’s brilliant. The seats do recline, but to be honest not sure if you can fit 2 people on one seat. They are quite slim and snug seats.

Just got the 2.0 Sdrive from my sister with the same color and rims and its real fun especially when its a little bit wet i can drift around the corner or make 180° U-Turn also the exhaust sound is fun..think i will go myself for the m2 f87 as my next car

Very contagious, your love of this model. What transmission is that and what year? You don't miss a true manual? One can put it into Sport mode on any E89 from this year, or is that an option. I'm a bit in shock you don't have a true manual, but perhaps those days are behind us, given paddle shifters. Lovely stying.

Get a Smarttop unit and you can have all the flexibility in the world regarding your roof's operation. Easy to self install too.
I drove this version of the Z4 from 2013 to 2018 and miss it ever since. Fantastic car.

I have a 2014 Z4 in the States which I bought new in 2013. It has been the best car I think I have ever owned (I have owned many). 5 years on now and it still performs like a trooper. My convertible top DOES raise and lower with the remote, so you might want to check with your local service shop. In general I couldn't agree with you more about this car. Love it.

Dude, I got my Z4 after watching one of your Videos one year ago. Exactly the same model/engine/colors. Now that I'm moving from GER to the UK I'm going to lease my beauty to a friend. Though I'm about to head to the Nürburgring tomorrow for one last trip, I already feel guilty leaving my Z4 with someone else. Its such a great car and its looks - amazing. I like the enthusiasm, which I share and should be the default for those in convertibles. I will soon have to decide on either a new z4 or another of my beloved 440i convertibles..tough decision!
Completely agree with you on it being the nicest looking car. Considered the SLK but cant stop turning away from the Z4. Looking to get the white with red leather interior.
My wife has the SLK. It sits next to my Z4 in the garage. So similar yet day and night. Always thought of White over Red as the traditional Corvette colors. But the BMW would look good in any color.

Looks good, i had a hard time to decide between mercedes slk and bmw z4 ( 2012 models) , i chose slk in the end just because i like the design more, but man z4 looks good too. I get so many heads turned in my slk, people just love the non usual cars.

Thanks, great video. Interesting that my new (to me) 2015 Z4 35i will let me close my roof with the remote but I can't open it. I don't have the comfort access package so maybe that's why. Like you, I absolutely love this car maybe more than my E46 M3 that it replaced
