If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

Timely for me, Ariel. Fell on stairs when cat raced down them into me and broke my ankle. 3 gardens all bursting with produce needing something done and of course all the daily chores and I'm sitting with leg elevated and ice packs. @@gigiw.7650 Thanks for the kind reply! I've had ME/CFS for 41 years and have found what is most important for maintaining a workable level of symptoms is to most importantly eat only organic anything. Some supplements are also essential and I've gotten most help by using only organic A2 cow's milk that I use to make kefir. Kefir has completely healed all of the gut issues I had for so many years of ME/CFS, I'm not 'cured' of course but a major difference in symptoms after taking kefir every day.

My husband and I had @ 4 acres with sheep, chickens, and geese out in the willywags of Vermont. In mid winter one year he came home from work and wasn't feeling well so I drove him to the doctor's for treatment. By the time we got into the car to come home I knew I was coming down with it too. It was a robust case of the flu and both of us headed for bed. We shared a puke bucket during the night since our only bathroom in our 1846 farmhouse was downstairs. It snowed all night and by morning one of us had to water and feed the critters. I drew the short straw so I hauled myself out of bed, suited up, and waded out into thigh high snow towards the barns out in the yard. All my joints were killing me, I had a fever, and even my skin and hair hurt. I hauled water and feed to the appropriate recipients, and made sure everyone was alright. I made it back to the house, kicked off my boots, and crawled back into bed. It was nip and tuck there for a while but somehow you rise to the task at hand particularly if you have animals depending on you. That was 35 years ago, but when I think about it I smile that I was able to get it done. I hear what you say about having a plan B for the just in cases and I admire your grit and fortitude when it comes to the work you do.

Was so rotten oral surgeon pulled it out with his fingers. Yup. Pretty bad. Then he put a bone graft in there and that helped bone grow. NOW oral surgeon said he would do another implant free. Glad you're on the path to recovery. I've only had two fillings in my life... and lost both teeth so I'm not having any more. One led to a root canal and now I'm feeling grateful the tooth shattered before it could be filled! Not a fan of the messing around (or the bills) as they try to save it. Had another tooth pulled under lockdown rather than risk the complications / expense but I have to say that infection & recovery was HARD. I'm at a point where falsies aren't so scary; especially as I'm caring for my mum and can't be out of action more than is unavoidable.

I am glad you are on the upswing. I make a soup of cabbage, can tomatoes, onions, green pepper, carrot and celery some Italian seasoning, garlic salt and pepper for winter. Maybe add fresh cilantro a supposed metal detox in case of things stewing in there desolving metals and spreading throughout you. The soup seems to cut down invaders in the first half and not on the upswing but you may want to try a little to see since you are still sleeping every day. 1/4-1/2 cup watered down. Dandelion or liver detox. Research and check with your physician first.

I’m surprised you got a root canal. Those are very bad and would recommend you having that pulled out. The reason being is that it will always harbor bacteria and can also be a source of cancer but they won’t tell you that at the dentist office. You should do some research on this and see what you think. There is information on UA-cam.

Hawaii was locked down longer than all other states. I nursed an abcess for over 1 year with cloves along the gum line. When I finally got to the dentist, root canal or extraction were my options. I was referred to this incredible endodontist. If you ever need another intervention, fly to Oahu and see my endodontist. Dr. Paulo G. Nogueira 🏝🌋🌊

Oh Ariel, sorry you were down and out 😔 We pray for your full-recovery sooner than later. Hope your infection heals up. Sometimes the medicines (antibiotics) can also wipe you out. Be careful, afterwards you need to build up your microbiome again with probiotics. Also Vit. D3, K2, C, Magnesium and Zink. Oh yeah, plenty of onions (quercetin), garlic, salt, etc can boost your immune system. But you probably know all of this already.
Epsom-salt foot baths also help to detox, relax and replenish magnesium.
    Godspeed
    🙏

    Hi , Ariel
Just watching your channel and heard the ordeal you had with the tooth! Sounds awful - in the nhs in uk I had terrible tooth ache - offered root canal work over several visits - ( not an option - as live too far and work)! Had it excised but had so much pain for several weeks. I understand ! Glad you are ok now - looking forward to watching your vlogs

My dentist told me that he doesn't do root canals because they can cause underlying silent infections because they can never truly be cleaned. Teeth are made of many small tubes and it's impossible to clean them out completely and with root canal some infection could be constantly incubating in there. If you keep having problems I wonder if it wouldn't be more healthy to remove the tooth and look at other options.Take care and I hope you can heal this issue.

that is interesting that a dentist does not recommend them! I agree with your dentist -- while I have had them at a younger age - at this point, my position is pull it out because how many times are they done then the tooth is pulled out anyway!!

Good that you are OK. The health of your teeth will affect the whole body. It's too bad that the medical insurance industry treats teeth as fancy bones that comes under a whole other insurance.

Ariel, I'm so sorry to hear that you've not been well. I did notice that it's been longer than usual between posts, and yes, you popped into my head. I'm glad you're feeling better and I'm sure that your lifestyle causes things to get behind because you haven't been able to do them. Hugs my good friend.

Ah girl, root canal! I've had it twice and twice ended up in hospital with severe infections, despite me following the advice given to the letter. Never again, I'd rather give birth to triplets than go through that pain ever again. If I'm told I need root canal now? I'll have them take the tooth out, get rid, job done. (saying that I've also had an infection from tooth removal, just not one that's lasted on a low level for months on end!) Tooth pain is the absolute worst, I'm glad you're feeling better now. Without being rude you do sound short of breath whilst talking, maybe get that checked too xx

Bacterial infections of any kind should not be taken lightly, they can cause blood infection and poisoning. You should have been put on antibiotics right away. simple stuff like this killed people in the old world, many were lucky to make it past their 40's. Back then a scratch that got dirty could kill you. There are ways to deal with this in the middle of nowhere, but it must be done quickly. I had an abscess in the gum below a tooth once, it was pusy and painful. I used a hypodermic needle filled it with hydrogen peroxide and pushed the needle into the abscess and flushed out the infection, pain relief was immediate. I did this several times while waiting for the day of the dentist. There are many things you can do to save yourself agony, but if your queasy, you better get over it or possible die or suffer long term heart problems brought on by infections that migrate into the blood. If your going off grid, make sure you know how to save yourself from the small ailments that can develop into serious life threatening situations.

Don't you have anybody to help you when you are sick? If not, try and build a support system around yourself for the future.
