What role do the hubs play in the network of the future? The hubs will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless connections between our 58 services, enabling over 6,000 port-to-port combinations allowing us to optimize transportation routes and ensure efficient delivery to distant destinations🌍🚢
Over the past three years, we've been working to expand our hub capacities. By the time we launch the future network, our hub capacity will have increased by 30%.
Following the completions of the expansions we will have:
🌊19 kilometers of berth space
🏗️200 cranes
🚢Capability to handle 500,000 transshipment moves weekly
"The hubs are a critical component of the network of the future. They will work together with the network design, cooperation agreement, fleet, processes, and technologies to deliver on industry-leading reliability, reach, and speed. All of these aspects are undergoing careful testing and finetuning to be ready for the February 2025 implementation," says Lars Mikael Jensen, Head of Hubs at APM Terminals.
