@@ourlittleeden Ermm...look, as a Bulgarian I do agree with most what you said but you have to admit there are exceptions from the "grey and miserable UK". Couple of years back when my wife and I were still living in UK we had a most glorious couple of summers in London. Sunny, warm and green, it was fabulous. Matter of fact we loved our live in UK except for the food, the fact people talk way too much 😀 but the main reason we went back to Bulgaria was that we had a daughter and it was clear to us London was not the place we wanted to raise her. We miss the parks, the football and especially the museums tho, make no mistake about that.😀

@@Radio280 it really depends on your life habits. For me and my fiance, living in a village next to Plovdiv is not that expensive. Keep in mind that if you're going to produce some of your food in the garden you might need even less. I'll give a small example on our spendings per month: - food - around 500 lv - electricity - 80 - 200 lv (don't know how the winter will be, using heat pump for cooling and heating) - water - usually less than 10 lv - internet (fiber) + TV - 30 lv - we don't spend much on fuel, usually 150 - 200 lv because we both work remotely

I can imagine leaving loved ones behind especially when you have very close friends a family very difficult but like you say they aren’t a million miles away, in this situation you need to think about you. You are and they are a short plane ride away. I wish you so much luck for the future.
It was always going to be hard to leave but when we had Ember we knew it would be harder on our families. But we are in touch with them everyday and apart from feeling their touch we are still very much with each other 🥲❤️

Sooo much strimming! Luckily it's what Phil used to do back in England so he is a seasoned old timer at landscape work - but working in 40 degree temperatures with no breeze is no joke that's for sure!

On my binge watch......the mini, although very sad, ended up being an investment for your future. Every penny counts. When you cried over leaving yout friend,.let me tell you,,, i see my friend 4 times a year, twice i go back to England, twice she comes here,,loaded with the English favs, marmite, tea bags, salad cream etc. Your friendship will take on a new role. Oh and congrats on baby, shes the cutest thing 🤗

One quick thing , please be careful when parking on the fresh grass , I’ve some cars go up in flames from the hot exhaust . Glad you made it there ok . I guess it’s let the work begin . Good luck .
Yes very important tip! The grass here was very green when we arrived, I certainly wouldn't be parking now though when it's all dead and dry. It certainly is let the work begin... We've got a lot to do 🙂 thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment. On this occasion nothing... They didn't even look inside the trailer. But it was all personal possessions and receipts to prove the age of anything that 'looked new' 👍

I've known people who bought property in Bulgaria and there experience wasn't the best from what they said. I'm thinking of going to Bulgaria in my RV and look at land so can live off grid Any advice would be great. Thank you 😊
There's a lot of media coverage about moving to Bulgaria from England. The reality is that the process of residency here is now very difficult for non EU passport holders. We would highly suggest researching areas, there are many who have purchased over here and within a year left again. It all depends on what you are looking for 😊
Finally back to your new home, I am going to go back and watch some of the old vlogs of when you 1st bought the place. Or I know I will ask questions that you have probably already answered. Your son is fantastic as a vlogger. Might need his own channel to show case life for kids moving to Bulgaria. As I am trying to convinve the OH a move to BG would be fun can I ask (apologies if already covered) 1. Language - are you going to classes or learning yourselves? 2. Friends - did you know anyone in BG before the move? Has it been easy to meet people? 3. Medical insurance - expensive? Who did you go with and why? So many more questions, but it ends up feeling like an interrogation. so apologies. I guess I am just trying to make sure that we should sell up and move and the world won't end just because I don't speak the language - got a memory like a sieve so will sturggle to learn.

We are down in the south of Bulgaria, not too far from the Greek and Turkey border. I would suggest having a good explore of the country as every area is very different 😊🇧🇬
Good luck mate on your move but be warned that life won't be easy if you do not speak Bulgarian. I've been here for more than a year and still struggling with the language. Outside of big cities no one speaks English so for all types of social services, paperwork, schooling, etc. you'll need to rely on an interpreter and will need to get all types of docs notarized ;(
It's a very tricky language but not a worry for us. We are learning the language and have reached out and met wonderful locals (and professionals) who have helped us so far. 🙂 we are embracing the Bulgarian way.
That's a very difficult question to answer, as what one person is happy to survive on another is not. Depending on where you are from I would suggest looking into the requirements of moving here first.
I see it's a trend for UK families to move to Bulgaria and buy abandoned ruins and houses in the middle of nowhere. In contrast to the Ukrainian and other Eastern Uropeans who are on the market for holiday homes on the beach. In many cases, luxury homes. I'm just noticing the preferences...
It's amazing how many feel the grass is always greener on the other side 😊 We have always lived near the coast in England, we love the sea but the woods and countryside is where our heart lies. 😊

I get 265 euro a week pension and can pay all my bills , eat well and still save . I don't worry about money anymore!!

One thing that suprised me in Sofia was a Kentucky Fried Chicken a American fast food chain . Wasn't expecting that .

We are down in the south of Bulgaria, not too far from the Greek and Turkey border. I would suggest having a good explore of the country as every area is very different 😊🇧🇬

Good luck mate on your move but be warned that life won't be easy if you do not speak Bulgarian. I've been here for more than a year and still struggling with the language. Outside of big cities no one speaks English so for all types of social services, paperwork, schooling, etc. you'll need to rely on an interpreter and will need to get all types of docs notarized ;(
It's a very tricky language but not a worry for us. We are learning the language and have reached out and met wonderful locals (and professionals) who have helped us so far. 🙂 we are embracing the Bulgarian way.

That's a very difficult question to answer, as what one person is happy to survive on another is not. Depending on where you are from I would suggest looking into the requirements of moving here first.
I see it's a trend for UK families to move to Bulgaria and buy abandoned ruins and houses in the middle of nowhere. In contrast to the Ukrainian and other Eastern Uropeans who are on the market for holiday homes on the beach. In many cases, luxury homes. I'm just noticing the preferences...
It's amazing how many feel the grass is always greener on the other side 😊 We have always lived near the coast in England, we love the sea but the woods and countryside is where our heart lies. 😊
