Thanks so much. It's hard to find videos like this because people think they're too simple but I have no idea how to use this thing so I need the total noob breakdown lol

I was hoping to watch this video with the intent of figuring out how to rename the bins that clips and projects are stored in, as I can't for the life of me figure that out! Every time I import clips or assets, it defaults by placing them in bins with a date correlating to the time the clip or asset was made. Is there a way to rename those bins and move them around? It would be great to use to further organize clips and FX/assets from outside of FCPX, and I see you have yours labeled with JPEG and Quicktime movie etc. Adobe Premier seems to have this functionality with "bins". Thanks for the content!

FCP doesn't have bins. Instead they use Events to contain your projects and clips. Select an event, press enter, change the name and then press enter again. Does that help?

@@StupidRaisins Within events there are projects and clips, etc. When importing clips into an event, they are auto organized by date. Those "dates" are what I would love to rename to "clip group name xyz" otherwise things start to get messy. I see in your video you have labels such as "JPEG image", "MPEG-4 movie" and "Quicktime movie" instead of dates. Was curious how you were able to achieve that specifically? I haven't seen anything in the official FCPX manual, so I'm at this point assuming it isn't possible until I saw your video!

      Does that help?

How to rename the files on disk based on the new clip name in FCP browser? In FCP 6.x and 7.x that was no problem (versions coming with Studio Pro 2 and Studio Pro 3).

How do you rearrange the status of what you downloaded? I accidentally imported videos and voiceovers and put them in different things. I am confused and need to straighten this out.

You can sort by date created. Check out this vid: ua-cam.com/video/hrKqjfzx18w/v-deo.html

In the Titles sidebar, is there a way to create folders? For example, creating a folder named Stupid Raisins where all their Titles can be placed. Otherwise, the only hierarchy is Titles or Generators 🙁

You can create folders in Motion Templates folder but this will duplicate the plugins on Final Cut Pro. Some plugins will not also work. Then doing so will also create an organization nightmare so it's not advisable to do that.
