- Doing a teardown of a Datsun L24 inline six cylinder engine. Not much to narrate, just turning things to the left and removing the parts.
Sit back, relax, watch & listen.

Dude well done
Thanks! Theres more to come, finally catching up on some editing these days lol.
The cranks usually only need a polish. Don't be SHOCKED !
Also just put fresh rings it never needs a bore.
The cylinder walls are very hard ,A honing it won't need either. Just clean and fit new ring set.
Only use Japanese timing chain set and Japanese water pump. Or good after market Japanese AISIN water pump. Zcardepot, has OEM, and after market Japanese and Chinese parts. Be sure nothing is Chinese.,in a extremely reliable Datsun Z motor.
Ohhh you'll see what happened in a upcoming video. Three cylinder bores had to get machined .020" to fix it up and each bore was honed to match the new silvolite pistons. You pretty much just called it on the rest, she got the ultimate upgrade and overhaul without going too crazy.
Im editing the next videos now, thanks for the input homie! I appreciate it.
Nice!
What was wrong with it? It looks brand new on the inside.
Low compression, coolant getting into combustion chambers. I didnt have any maintenance history so i rebuilt it. More videos to come of the re-assembly and more in depth look into what repairs were needed.
@@atombawm Oh ok, looking forward.
