Black and yellow garden spiders usually build their webs in fairly open areas as opposed to dense shrubs or inside shelters. Because all spiders are carnivores that feed primarily on insects, their presence helps rather than harms landscape and garden plants.
mantis won only because you tore the web apart with the stick had you found a way to get the mantis in the web without the stick the spider would have won hands down, the mantis had the unfair advantage
Except it's not just the mantis, he's got unlimited high ground thanks to you. It wouldn't even be a fight normally cause the mantis would never just walk into her web and the spider would already have bigger problems if she was walking around the garden but building a home.
That's not how it usually happens. What usually happens is that the mantis blunders into the spider's web while flying, and the spider will wrap it up and eat it! Otherwise okay video. I've seen flying preying mantises blunder into large spider webs and they will always lose to the spider, who instinctively wraps them up to eat.
The spider has common sense to know that the praying mantis wasn't worth the trouble It can simply wait for a bee or a moth to Tire itself out but a praying mantis can in some cases claw their way out of the sticky silk with their mandibles and spiky arms, even even some grasshoppers can use their spring-loaded Spike decorated back legs to kick the eggs out of spiders that try to come near them in the web Encounter with a praying mantis can end up with the spider losing some legs at best and losing a decent chunk of fresh at medium case scenario we're losing its life at worst case scenario Spiders will however gladly help themselves to a baby praying mantis or at most very small young one
Spiders are smarter than people think they are and the spider knows that a fully grown praying mantis is not an easy meal like a butterfly or Bumblebee and even grasshoppers can kick the living daylight out of them with their catapult back legs Even when caught in the web the praying mantis can really teach spider some manners if it doesn't end up as much for a praying mantis it'll have some legs missing Praying mantises are kind of the apex predators of insects and feel like insect I've seen to take down a praying mantis is the Japanese giant hornet and even for them it's a Gamble
some Lame its comical...if the mantis is caught its lunch...take spider out of web, make it even. Most likely they will do what most predators do to other predators...walk away...
It is not right or fair to throw those insects in that web, bees and Praying mantis insects help the garden. Sure give him locusts and cucumber beatles and other such undesirables.
@its Impossible to make me angry Are you seriously so small minded that you think using derogatory terms will make you seem smart? ‘Haha, hey look at me I just called a random person a fag’.
And how would you feel if you got thrown into a spider web for absolutely nothing and get paralyzed by a vicious spider when you helped by eating wasps, that could have stung you, and eating bad bugs. You have to think before your actions, this is curvin mccathern and I'm texting this on my dad's phone... This is absolutely cruel. And I'm 11 now, I typed the last thing when I was 10
Not fair the mantis had a epic mount.
epic flying mount
Mantis is like "come at me Bruh"

Yea the mantis won cause u always safed it insted of letting the spider continue.
I have two big garden spiders in my garden I feed daily. They grow pretty quickly.
"So I get up in the morning and went outside omfg a yellow spider bit me"
This is literally the equivalent of a dog fight. Just because most people don’t like them doesn’t mean they deserve this cruelty.
Exactly @blu wolf
No it's "literally" not. Otherwise there would be dogs involved. It's "practically" an insect fight therefore nobody cares.
mantis won only because you tore the web apart with the stick had you found a way to get the mantis in the web without the stick the spider would have won hands down, the mantis had the unfair advantage
Yeah
Except it's not just the mantis, he's got unlimited high ground thanks to you. It wouldn't even be a fight normally cause the mantis would never just walk into her web and the spider would already have bigger problems if she was walking around the garden but building a home.

That spider will run away from anything larger than it. It saw you so it was on guard.
mantis is actually awesome
Agreed
Only thing you did was destroy its web.
Uhh yeah that spider didn’t want no part because you were holding the dang thing
I seen a spider like that (like about 1 1/2 or 2 feet long from top to bottom) when I was little
ik that people won't believe me but it is true
but since I was little I forgot how big it was
sounds like I keep on adding, but I was like about 4 or 5 years old when it happened
okay well that's bullshit.
Yikes
The spider has common sense to know that the praying mantis wasn't worth the trouble

Lol that's kind of cruel and besides u never even get them to fight lol :P
You are correct!
Yeah exactly
It's predator vs predator, but the spider didn't seem to like being harassed with by a praying mantis like that. I guess the spider was too scared.
Spiders are smarter than people think they are and the spider knows that a fully grown praying mantis is not an easy meal like a butterfly or Bumblebee and even grasshoppers can kick the living daylight out of them with their catapult back legs
Even when caught in the web the praying mantis can really teach spider some manners if it doesn't end up as much for a praying mantis it'll have some legs missing
Praying mantises are kind of the apex predators of insects and feel like insect I've seen to take down a praying mantis is the Japanese giant hornet and even for them it's a Gamble
That spider is actually female.
So is the mantis
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT
I really want someone to edit this with cartoonish punching sounds
Go Mantis!!
some Lame its comical...if the mantis is caught its lunch...take spider out of web, make it even. Most likely they will do what most predators do to other predators...walk away...
silk golden orb

I will report you for trying to hurt one of God's best creatures, and plus I love praying mantises. and I will not tolerate this peace of crap!
Shut up hashbrown
Try me
