mantis would crush that spider out of the web. the spider would probably run away from the mantis. and yes...the mantis will continue chewing away even when its doomed in a life or death fight.
This isn't much of a versus battle... It's completely one-sided. Once an insect is trapped in a venomous spiders web, unless the trapped insect can spew a flame from its body It's pretty much over. A venomous spider in their web just has too many advantages. Out of the web the mantis stands a much better chance with its razor sharp mandibles, spiked claws & voracious appetite
That's not how it usually happens. What usually happens is that the mantis blunders into the spider's web while flying, and the spider will wrap it up and eat it! Otherwise okay video. I've seen flying preying mantises blunder into large spider webs and they will always lose to the spider, who instinctively wraps them up to eat.
Yellow garden spiders are large, orb-weaving arachnids, meaning they spin a circular web. Most spiders have two claws on each foot, but orb weavers have an additional claw to help them spin their complex webs. In females, the top side of the abdomen is black with symmetrical patches of bright yellow. The legs are reddish brown at the base and black toward the tips. Males are less striking in appearance-they are smaller with brownish legs and less yellow coloration on their abdomens. Females average 0.75 to 1.1 inches (19 to 28 millimeters) in body length, which is up to three times larger than the males.
Black and yellow garden spiders usually build their webs in fairly open areas as opposed to dense shrubs or inside shelters. Because all spiders are carnivores that feed primarily on insects, their presence helps rather than harms landscape and garden plants.
The spider has common sense to know that the praying mantis wasn't worth the trouble It can simply wait for a bee or a moth to Tire itself out but a praying mantis can in some cases claw their way out of the sticky silk with their mandibles and spiky arms, even even some grasshoppers can use their spring-loaded Spike decorated back legs to kick the eggs out of spiders that try to come near them in the web Encounter with a praying mantis can end up with the spider losing some legs at best and losing a decent chunk of fresh at medium case scenario we're losing its life at worst case scenario Spiders will however gladly help themselves to a baby praying mantis or at most very small young one
Spiders are smarter than people think they are and the spider knows that a fully grown praying mantis is not an easy meal like a butterfly or Bumblebee and even grasshoppers can kick the living daylight out of them with their catapult back legs Even when caught in the web the praying mantis can really teach spider some manners if it doesn't end up as much for a praying mantis it'll have some legs missing Praying mantises are kind of the apex predators of insects and feel like insect I've seen to take down a praying mantis is the Japanese giant hornet and even for them it's a Gamble
Unfortunately he took the wrong leg he needed to take one of those back spinning legs so she couldn't wrap that sheet of silk around em...live by the sword and die by the sword...
I know this is old but people, honeybees are an invasive species and both wasps and flies are the same important for flower's reproduction. Actually hundreds of flowers depend only on wasps to reproduce.
Mantis could easily kill the spider if you dickheads didn't threw it in the spider's web, and still the mantis got its leg and locked the spider with its sharp legs... SO SO said is humankind....

I hope in 9 years that dear young child has learned the answer to “ what’s the spider doing “ and why he wasn’t “tired “ Cute
A big meal but it came at a high price.
Great video ngl, awesome
Why are you feeding beneficial insects to a spider? Do you have a brain injury? This is ridiculous.
For people who make these videos,,maybe they should be shrunk to an inch and thrornn into a web,,see how great that would be.
I would squish them both and be done with it!
Yea the mantis won cause u always safed it insted of letting the spider continue.
Love this!

Did the spider get out from inside its own web/mantis' leg?
So many people need to see this that was crazy

The praying mantis became the hunted, being the hunter still means other things can prey on you like this spider.
It's predator vs predator, but the spider didn't seem to like being harassed with by a praying mantis like that. I guess the spider was too scared.

I’ve only ever seen 1 mantis in my life time in the last 24 years
crazy how aware and good he is with his webbing even while being held
Unfortunately he took the wrong leg he needed to take one of those back spinning legs so she couldn't wrap that sheet of silk around em...live by the sword and die by the sword...
Amazing shot
You threw the praying mantis into the web didn't you????
Go Mantis!!
Only thing you did was destroy its web.
I know this is old but people, honeybees are an invasive species and both wasps and flies are the same important for flower's reproduction. Actually hundreds of flowers depend only on wasps to reproduce.
Id throw a hornet or two in
The 23 dislikes are from members of that bee's hive

Mantis could easily kill the spider if you dickheads didn't threw it in the spider's web, and still the mantis got its leg and locked the spider with its sharp legs... SO SO said is humankind....
