I've never heard of this tool and am just impressed as all get out! Here, in Texas, snakes are a huge problem so picking up wood like that would be a LOT safer! Also, for wheelchair users it saves you from having to bend over the side or leaning foreward and risk tumping yourself out of the chair. What an amazing tool! Thank you, Taras!

Never heard of it? If you have any knowledge on lumberjacking you got to know a pickaroon. I guess your knowledge ends with what an axe is.

they are actually being used a bit different most of the time over here, they were designed to be able and pick up 1m or longer pieces of wood from the ground and then carrying it
for that you go to the piece of wood that is on the floor, pick it on one end, lift it up, take that end with one hand and then pick the other end with the tool once more and you can carry it easily with a straight back ;-)
by the way... even when the yellow one is from a German company, it originally was developed and designed by a Austrian Company that even makes Ice Picks (and this is why it does look like one)

the issue with pickaroons are the durability.
They're built like an axe or pick, but they wear out extremely fast because of the weight distribution from the logs pulling on the end. Pickaroons need to be made of a solid piece of metal all the way to the handle.

Auctully the extra weight would be an advantage because you would have more force in your swing thus causeing it to be less likely to fall out. And the wood handle is better because if hard times come you could make a new handle
