The Bible says over a hundred times that God is "unchanging", the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow. But He sure seems to change His mind a lot.

Christians wrap themselves up in warm, cozy blankies given to them by their pastors and their Sunday school teachers. When I decided to read the Bible cover to cover my wife objected saying that isn't how you are supposed to read it. For many Christians the way to read the Bible is to take bits out of context and try to apply it to their modern lives like their preachers do.

The Bible is more historically attested than any other historical document we have way way more manuscripts than any other literature and we also have earlier sources. Do you believe what you read about Julius Caesar do you really believe what you read about Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle? Because they live before Jesus have way way less manuscripts and the manuscripts come centuries and centuries, some even 1400 years after they lived. So if you believe things that you read about those people then you would be inconsistent to say that the Bible is historically unreliable

The biblical accounts are not reliable. Besides being filled with lies, falsehoods, and logical impossibilities from cover to cover, the bible gets history wrong, is self-contradictory, gets science wrong, etc. 3. We have far more contemporary historical documentation about Julius Caesar than we do about Jesus. There are only one or two small mentions of Jesus in secular texts of the first century; but Julius Caesar was written about by well-known CONTEMPORARY authors (not "900 years later") such as Sallust, Plutarch, Cicero, and Caesar himself (not to mention Suetonius and many others).

It took me so long to shake free from the programming of religion. I'm thankful that I found channels like The Atheist Experience way back in 2013 when I started down the path to becoming an atheist. We're talking decades to clear my brain; I even converted to Judaism way back in 2000. Looking back on it all, I feel kind of dumb that I believed in this nonsense, but I understand WHY I did. I was never as bad as the people who call into the show (there was always some doubt in my mind) but I still believed that Jesus was a real person and that God created everything. In all honesty, when we've been reared with the fear of hell permeated in our brain, it's a scary thing to say the Bible is a mess. It's still a frightening sometimes because it's all I've ever had shoved into my brain from the time I've been able to listen. So I have learned to not do things to upset that unadulterated love that God has shown towards me by allowing me to find him in a ruined sin filled life and he took me and loved me anyways in my most ruined point in my life. Paul is who starts talking about the difference between covenants. So Christians generally listen to the words of Paul over the words of Jesus. Doesn't make sense to me, but that's who they actually listen to.

It took me so long to shake free from the programming of religion. I'm thankful that I found channels like The Atheist Experience way back in 2013 when I started down the path to becoming an atheist. We're talking decades to clear my brain; I even converted to Judaism way back in 2000. Looking back on it all, I feel kind of dumb that I believed in this nonsense, but I understand WHY I did. I was never as bad as the people who call into the show (there was always some doubt in my mind) but I still believed that Jesus was a real person and that God created everything. Wish I had known about Recovering from Religion back in 2013.

In all honesty, when we've been reared with the fear of hell permeated in our brain, it's a scary thing to say the Bible is a mess. It's still a frightening sometimes because it's all I've ever had shoved into my brain from the time I've been able to listen. Eventually, the caller will realize the truth and he already does, he's just scared and I can empathize with that.

U hear a lot of chrisstians saying that its impossible to follow the law in the ot. I never hear them acknowledge that the reason why is because youd have to be both man and woman and a king and a priest at the same time, which would be breaking the law. Obviously you cant follow all of it, but its definitely easily possible to follow all the law that applies to one person. The problem is all the blatantly immoral commandments.

I myself don’t even think about hell or whatever it ultimately is because I have never in my 41 years believing in God have ever felt complete anger from God when I have sinned since believing in God.
I have always been given room to Sin and afterwards I feel bad about doing it knowing God loved me yet while I was in Sin before I found God myself.
So I have learned to not do things to upset that unadulterated love that God has shown towards me by allowing me to find him in a ruined sin filled life and he took me and loved me anyways in my most ruined point in my life.
Don’t allow others to scare you away from finding God yourself because he will meet you right where you are In a sin filled state or not.. rich or poor good or bad it doesn’t even matter just go as you are.. go as your are and be prepared to see what that love is all about GOD IS PURE UNADULTERATED LOVE.. period.
