People criticise Goblin Slayer for "needless brutality" but that's the point. Goblins are deemed irredeemable by any sense of the word because this is the reality they live in. If the writer held back on the goblins' evilness, then that would make Goblin Slayer's existence make no sense. This is a story of a man so angry, he made genocide his passion and the monsters he's unleashing it on needs to be deserving of it.
The worst part, is that similar, and even worse, behavior occurs in real life. So arguing “needless violence” is like ignoring the horrors that occur in real life.
Another aspect of Goblin Slayer, you can deal with giant problems that affect the world as a whole, but shouldn’t ignore what others deem to be “little problems”, as they still affect numerous people’s lives. Lesser or Greater evils, doesn’t change the fact that evil is *evil,* no matter what form it takes.

@@nobuffer101 Oh yeah definitely. I still remember watching a documentary about this "sex on a shelf". It's when a kidnapper kept the women locked at home and frequently rape them. Sometimes raising children in that environment. Other times being forced to miscarry. In one documentary, three women are saved only because one of them got hold of the kidnapper's phone.
When the kidnapper was put on trial, he genuinely believe that the environment in that "house" was built with love and care. But when the women were asked, he kidnapped them in their teens (now they're mid 20s-30s) and he was violent and relentless. It was scary to think: How many more like that are still hidden today?
True, fun fact actually, i shown this series to one of my friend and they say that they didnt like it because how unconfortable it is. Then i told them, the LN are far more cruel than the anime.

It's just that since goblins usually target poor small villages, they can't offer big rewards, therefore few even bother cleaning up nests, and probably fewer make up an effort to leave no survivors like GS does. Goblin King was the result of sloppy adventurers not realizing the dangers of letting a goblin run away.
Thus the experience most people has with goblins is just scaring or killing scouts in the open, which even a random farmer can do, therefore the misconception of they being weak monsters.
Two things surprised me:
Their rate of reproduction.
Their ability to use saliva as poison.

Even worse fact, in the manga the fighter girl who threw that *infamous kick of disaster* was found by GS in a pool of Goblin goo… Which was roughly less than an hour before GS showed up. 🤮🤮

@@avichaltiwari6442Here is a taste of information if you want more. You find out in book 12 of the Light Novels, you need Goblins to help make future demon lords but Goblins can’t become demons or demon lords themselves.
The point being goblins live to be cruel even to their own kinds of entertainment. They'll always give you a brutal and slow death. But maot.of.all They're weak and cowardice makes them extremely deadly because they're smart to take advantage that other species are dumb enough to look down on them
Being a war historian I can tell you straight up that human beings have done worse things to the innocent during wartime than anything depicted in Goblin Slayer. Think about that for a moment.

I think the goblins are a metaphor for that very behavior in humans.
In order to destroy the monsters, you need to become a monster.

@@IIIISai when they raid a goblin nest in an abandoned fort, theres an elf woman tied up, it looks like she has been there for days and theres a goblin hiding in ambush behind her. She tries to say something like "kill it" but coulnt speak, only the lips moved, goblin slayer understood what she was saying.
Its badass cuz she didnt say save me, she just wanted to kill those mfs

I'm one of those who thinks the depiction of violence is misused in this series. It has no other purpose than just to cause commotion on readers/expectators. And here comes the real point of questioning in the logical narrative of this series, which makes it hard for me to apreciate it. HOW THE HELL they deem the goblins insignificant monsters in this world? Considering the atrocities they know goblins are capable of, this race of monsters should have been considered humanity's number one enemy. The lack of logic can be clearly noticed just by looking to the main character. A lot of people in this world had some experience similar to that of MC, or even worse (for example, the survivors of the goblin's atrocities), but the MC is shown to us as the only person in this world who is hell bent in exterminating goblins. How can this be possible? Even in the high society there are victims of the goblins, but still, no one gives a damn to them?
I agree with you and the only excuse i can think of is that all the attention is focus on either dragons (we are never explain their level of threat) or a demon king, and maybe conflicts with other species but Goblin Slayer is the only one with a present time mindset

because not much profit made from killing goblin so when the risk is high and profit is low logical people will not take the job
Also want to add that each female they capture is killed quickly or within weeks. On average they should only give birth to a few goblins before dying. Yet goblin nests are constantly destroyed and rebuild by goblins. The amount of females they would need to capture would simply be the number 1 death cause for humanoid races by far.
@@NLwino This is indeed a good point. As the lore says, once impregnated, it takes 3 days for a female human to give birth to a baby goblin. Considering that, while raping and impregnating women, they also keep torturing them, the life expectancy of these captured women isn't long enough to make them having time to give birth to many goblins. On top of that, it is said that in (at least) some cases, the captured women are used as baby producing tools only once, cuz once they give birth, they are used to feed the babies (and I'm not talking about breastfeeding). The numbers, as you said, really don't add. It's sad, but the inconsistencies in the story of the series are so damn much that I find hard to appreciate it. If these inconsistencies didn't exist (or at least were less intense), it would be a great story indeed.
well, a lot of absolutely horrendus things happen in the world on a daily basis, yet most people don't care and even fewer act, including in the societies when these are dire, pressing issues.
Goblins almost exclusively prey upon poor peasants who can't afford to hire elites or beginners adventurers who are basically nobodies. Sure, a lot of people are stroke by the tragedy of goblins attack and end up traumatized, but that's the point: how many of them are actually able to overcome their suffering and retaliate when they already have a hard time just living?

@@emeraly2721 GS is Cruel yet fast and efficient many misunderstand his methods as torture but he himself state that his mind is closer to a Goblin so he can hunt them and expect their actions and use this to think out of the Box with what he has, like using Protection to jail the Goblins in the Elven Fortress while it was burning everyone inside, Priestess thouth is cruel while Goblin Slayer thought it was efficient

Goblin Slayer doesn’t really make sense to me. Everyone thinks Goblins are weak and not worth the effort, but then the story constantly shows just how powerful, brutal, and wide spread they are. There’s entire lands controlled by the little r@pists and people are just like “meh, it’s not a big deal.”
I personally think the series is just torture pr0n, but I ain’t going to be one of those haters that demand censorship or other nonsense like that.

Is it's just me but Goblin represent the sheer level of cruelty just for the sake of it as well as equally sheer levels of lacking of responsibilities? Like a child that is behaving badly, rudely, and cruelly, but the capabilities to inflict cruelty is so much beyond that of a human child?
I dont really get why they torture the females and kill them. I know they are sadistic monsters, but, you’d think they’d get more “entertainment” and use out of keeping a few girls alive, to repopulate way faster.
Keep corpses of the male adventurers to feed the young or for sadistic “fun.”
