      He was writing Vagabond at a weekly pace right? He should've said he needed more time to plot the story, a month or so at best. Given how popular the series was at the time, I'm sure some folks would've agreed.

    It's incredible how the masters of their art are never satisfied... Also, heartbreaking to see how many mangakas suffer for their Work. Sure, they're doing what they love. But the amount of effort that goes into a manga like Berserk or Vagabond, both in the art and story, is exceptional... They did not need to go that far, I feel! Most panels from these manga could be framed as fine pieces of art, due to the amount of detail, emotion and passion put into them. Yet, as a reader, my desire to appreciate the details struggles against the desire to know what happens next... :)

    • @Ammuniti0n
      @Ammuniti0n 2 роки тому +26

      I feel the same way! I always try to take a minute to wholeheartedly appreciate the art and the passion behind it but the urge to flip the pages to read what's to come is a very hard thing to resist. Such fine art should be framed and not be hidden between pages in a book, that way the efforts put into those chapters would be vastly more appreciate and loved

      Let's be honest, the deadlines are the problem, not their absolute dedication to the quality of the thing they do. If we all would work on what we do with this intensity and dedication, but give ourselves the time to do it sustainably, what a beautiful society we would inhabit.

    • @hear-and-know
      @hear-and-know Рік тому +3

      @@philippfischer717 yeah, it's the deadlines... There's an expectation from work culture that even something that normally comes spontaneously (ideas, creativity, inspiration) should "come spontaneously until deadline X". Another side-effect of wanting things to be other than they are.

    I think all artists can relate to how he feels. When you're unsatisfied with something, all the praise in the world couldn't satisfy that nagging feeling in the back of your head that it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to. But what's weirder, is every artist is also used to the shock of witnessing a master at work STILL not be satisfied.
    His final drawing didn't satisfy his desires, but it more than got the job done. For the story, for the artwork itself, for the deadline...I mean, the man absolutely crushed it. That panel is seriously amazing.
    Artists are often too critical of themselves, and we're our own worst enemies. We all get so frustrated with where we are, that we forget where we came from.

    Many manga artists suffer from imposter symdrone, which causes them not to see their work and talent as valuable.

    What ppl don't realize is that being an artist/writer takes a toll on us as individuals. To hit that level of spiritual awakening and being a God isn't easy. To create something no one has heard, seen or read is a lot.

      Being a God ? You don't even know what you talking about
      Inoue is just a human being like us he doesn't have power at all
      If he is gone nothing will change in this planet alone in fact if all humans gone nothing will change in this planet
      earth can live without us anyways
