There was a blacksmith doing demos at a local ranch back when I was a kid and he made a meat turner for my brother and I and we thought it was the coolest thing ever being able to see it made in front of our eyes. Still have and use it to this day too!

Why does he need stainless steel utensils? I'm sure by the looks of the color/temp he brought the bolt up to, anything harmful attached to it, is completely disintegrated and by "seasoning" it by heating and applying oil to it, will be useful for 25+years!

If so, you must a) be quite wealthy as there are a lot of such things and they aren’t always cheap/or you have a workshop with almost every niche tool imaginable to emulate the output of factories on a much smaller scale and b) have a lot of storage and possibly a wife who is really good at storing and labeling things. Alternatively maybe you don’t go out that much? None of this is me trying to be rude, just noting how much money or effort a personal rule of this magnitude would exact on a person.

Thats pretty sick...reminds me of how more than once I made molds of crescent wrenches I didn't have and cast them from a lower melting bronze mix [more tin and lead] cuz it melted easy and i only needed to use it once so if it broke or bent it didn't matter but I was abke to use it to finish the job I was doing...this was me at 16 years old before I had the funds for real full sets of wrenches.
