I apologise for the variable sound quality with this video. I think my microphone may have gone rogue!

Love your videos, they take me back to the 18 years of driving my Herald Convertible all year round, as my everyday car.

Thanks Leon, I am so glad you enjoyed this. To be honest, a Herald or Vitesse with the top up is a very warm and snug place to be in our mild East Anglian winters. Driving in snow... That might be another matter 😂

I’m spotting a quintessential English beard. 😊 Now to enjoy your video. Thank-you.

Was tempted to take the TR out but the roads in West Suffolk are a sea of mud. I love coastal Suffolk it has a timeless remoteness despite the fact you are not far from habitation, you can almost feel the history of the area. I won't mention the beard Sean! 😂

    • @seanhumfrey
      @seanhumfrey  9 місяців тому +2

Chaps, what can I say. The beard may prove to be similar to the Roman occupation of Britain... Temporary 😂!

Hello Sean, just to let you know that it is pleasure to join your journeys with your lovely cars. I have learned quite a bit about Suffolk, apparetnly a very nice part of England. Should you ever want to venture off and explore the Moselle area, do let me know. There are beautiful backroads, too, and the wine is wonderful 🙂. I try to get there as often as I can using the convertible. I have to admit, though, that it is only a little more than 30 years old and - of course - of German provenience ... Looking forward to your next video! Greetings from Germany!

Hello Sean! Thanks, as always, for a most enjoyable and informative video.
I have been spending some of my evenings, recently, re-viewing the Netflix series, "The Crown". A few nights ago, while watching Episode 10 of Season 3, what should I see but Earl Snowden driving a royal blue, convertible Mk.1 Vitesse - very much like your own "Tess"! So, Tony had excellent taste in cars!
I do hope you had a very good festive season and that 2024 is being kind to you. Best wishes, Colin.
PS: I like the beard! C.

Hi Colin, so pleased you enjoyed this. So funny that you should have spotted the Vitesse in the crown. I practically jumped out of my chair when I saw it a year or so ago! Happy and prosperous New Year to you and yours 😀

@@seanhumfrey You Tube have just recommended for me a video each on the one and only factory-built Vitesse coupe, an electric Vitesse convertible, and a Vitesse estate! I haven't watched these yet, but I have put them on my watch list, so it will be a while before I do.

Thanks Sean Yes, very excited, much to my wife’s amusement.
Have to confess in the end I went for a Herald, betraying the cause-sorry. But it was too tempting to miss. Genuine unrestored 1969 factory convertible, 38k miles, totally original apart from respray. Looks like a 2 year old car!

Hi Sean, enjoyed the vid, Suffolk roads, so peaceful! Is there a car club you know near us in Framlingham/Southwold area, I joined the SVEC but meets are in Ipswich so bit of a hike?

    • @seanhumfrey

Hi Simon, thank you for your lovely comment. I am a member of the EAPC, but I confess that I never manage to make Club nights. They are a wonderful group and definitely worth joining. I think Suffolks clubs tend towards gathering either nr Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds. What do you drive?

Thanks@@seanhumfrey . Do you have a contact for EAPC? I met you at the Sizewell meet I think, looking for an E-Type or Healey 3000 and enjoying the search. So between classics right now. Living vicariously!
