Rosemary & Garlic Infused Oil ~ Noreen's Garden

Greetings! This week we are continuing our Botanical Holiday, Gifts from the Garden series with a rosemary and garlic infused oil that can be given as a lovely gift and the recipient can use it as an addition to salad dressings or as a dipping oil.
This can be done with home grown and home harvested produce or you can gather your bounty from the farmer's market or grocery store. No matter where it comes from, this is a gift that is easy to make in bulk and give away to friends and neighbors this coming holiday season.
When you make this, be sure to wash and dry your garlic and herbs well. Heating them in the oil helps to reduce the risk of botulism and salmonella. If you wish, you can store this in the refrigerator. You can make this up to two weeks in advance of gift giving. You can also opt not to add the additional herbs and cloves in the finished product. If you should see anything worrisome, please be sure to discard. There is a very low risk with this product but nothing that I would worry too much about. Especially if you have used properly grown, handled and clean ingredients.
