I am 75 years old and play for the enjoyment of the game so I play the front tees to keep the game enjoyable . My wife does not hit very far so I put her at 200 on the 4s and 225 on the 5s ,if she is getting tired toward the end of the round I move her closer . This way she has fun and still feels she is competing .
I realise that my experience may be different to yours but I disagree with your par 3 strategy. Unless there is water in front, it is always less dangerous to play to the front on a par 3. There is never out of bounds short! Average golfers hitting enough club to get to the back of the green are going to be missing left and right by more than if they played to the front. All but one of the par 3’s on my course are parable from in front of the green but are very difficult to par if you miss pin high or long. Plus for high handicappers, bunkers are generally speaking really dangerous in that they have poor technique and will often leave it in there. Playing short lessens the chance of going in a bunker.
That’s alright if you’re a good striker of the ball like you are but most 20 handicappers Duff their shots are not good strikers of the ball like you that’s why they’re 20 handicappers I noticed you never missed a shot that’s because you’re a goodstriker the ball

"This is a 130 yd par 3, why do you have driver out?"
"Matt told me to take front trouble out of play."
