Maybe the title could be "Match of the year contender", then at the end of the year do a video revisiting all of the best matches and give them a ranking
Nice idea :) Based on that, I'd say: "Match of the Year Contender 2021 (Clem vs ShoWTimE)" You could also include the matchup in the title (PvZ, ZvT, etc.)
35:06 is when the game should have ended. I guess the players were just too tired. The second mistake was that instead of letting the probes return minerals he decided to just let them die for some reason. Those minerals would let him summon 1 zealot which would have been a massive help.
And mike, Walter, Simon, and jimmy. The hero marines now sitting comfortably in therapy after watching all their friends die. And mourning the loss of Walter during the final battle.
26:20 those are the two most badass, intimidating scv pilots EVER! They scared those stalkers away with pure machismo! Title ideas: SCV Intimidation! SCV fear attack? Clem's Charity: Terran Unit donation drive! Magnetic Purification Novas!? Offensive late-game building push?? "Who called in the fleet?" with 4 marines in thumbnail: "Squad goals" Basically, after recording, you should look at your audio track and check out every spike in volume. If you're yelling into the mic, there's probably a video name there.
I'm choosing to believe the remaining SCV in that standoff was one of the two who repaired the medivacs and took on the shield battery at the end. Best SCV of 2021.
This game is the definition of "I don't know what weapons will be used in world war three, but the ones used in world war four will be sticks and stones"
I think Clem sent the structures at the end to mask the advance of the SCVs. All those blue blips hanging around that area allowed the SCVs to slip through and repair the Medivacs without getting picked off by the Stalkers. And silly Lowko. The correct title of this video was obviously Bronze League Heroes.
Lowko, suggestion for December, you should do a series where you cast a match that you feel defines each of the years 2010-2021, looking at it retrospectively. Like, how much of the way we now play is due to balance changes, how much of it is due to the level of play increasing or new players reshaping the meta?
That would be cool. I would love to go back and watch top games from the early years, but unfortunately that's technologically impossible - there was an update sometime in the middle of the decade that made all replays from beforehand unviewable :(
Very rare you see a epic SC2 battle such as this. Went to the last units and micro was increasingly important. Very surprising. No one plays to the very end. It was extremely nice to finally see a battle to the very end. 2 Stalkers Vs. 4 Marines and Medivacs. Honestly, It was one of the closest matches I have ever seen.
In hindsight, Showtime should have just waited for the stalkers to gain their shields back to full, then sneaking a lot more shots on the medivac when the marines were busy shooting the structures, before blinking away. It seemed like Clem manually and specifically targeted the buildings on many occasions, instead of "A" move, meaning if the medivacs were attacked, the marines wouldn't automatically target the stalkers. It might have been enough to take down at least 1 medivac. And if there was only 1 medivac, he could have out DPSd the heal.
What even was this. I was like "There is no way with that shield there". Then Clem come out with something I think ShowTime had not even considered. Smash it with everything and abuse what must be some of the most stella control I have ever seen. I mean he lost a Marine. In 10 minutes and 30 seconds of cliff-hanging control he lost 1 marine. God I hope he was laughing while doing it, I was laughing watching it! What a hero!
That ending increased my anxiety level to 1000. I usually predict the victor before hand. But this was almost impossible to predict until those 2 scv joined the fight
I'm curious, why Clem after cleaning up the base didn't quickly load up marines in medivacs, fly on boost to the shield battery and kill it before stalkers could get there? I suppose before Showtime realized, the battery would be long gone.
I bet on two factors: long game, you're tired and may not think of it... or just wanting to play it safe. The main way Clem could lose was losing the medivacs. Having the marines in the medivacs means they lack that marine buffer that was keeping them safe. He could probably have evaded the stalkers like you said, but why take the risk? It certainly would have been amazing to watch, that's for sure!
Clem could have saved the last orbital by "simply" lifting it sooner. If he'd lifted it before it started burning, it would have been ok. After it started burning, it felt like he could have flown the CC to his main, which was still walled off, and repaired it there. That would have given him a far more convincing victory as he could have dropped mules. - certified chat GM
@@warnaoh I mean, obviously it's a mistake.. but at the same time, no matter how good you are at the game there's still a limit to the number of things you can focus on at the same time. Pro players can do a lot more than the average person, but lifting off their buildings is still taking away actions from doing something else, and if they're already in the middle of a critical fight it can cost them much more than just losing a building to take their attention away even for a fraction of a second.
Perhaps a numbering system for Starcraft casts would help a bit? Remembering games by players/video name is quite hard and just having a number could be helpful.
