I love that you are willing to spend time helping people to make art accessible on any budget! I have to say that I'm not opposed to using low cost materials for creativity's sake, but frankly I'm astounding at all the PAINT you have at your local haunt. WHERE ARE YOU? I'm in Los Angeles and I'm not finding anything like that here.
I really enjoyed your video. I also like that you mentioned that being more limited with art supplies or free supplies boosts your creativity which I completely agree with. I have a sculpture degree and felt many of my best pieces were from cheap materials and materials other students thew away or gifted to me because they saw I recycled. Your video is very refreshing especially because you don't just critisize the materials and instead find creative alternative for other things you get at the dollar store. I use the ceramic white plates for pallets which otherwise would be very expensive at an art supply store. I also look into kitchen and home supplies.
I painted a couple paintings, landscape scenes, on the dollar tree canvas panels and found them to be very usable and I like the size of the large panel board, Beats painting acrylic on paper. Can’t say I’m wild about their light weight canvas boards. But as a practice platform, they will do. Thanks for your video.
Thanks for the tips. I’m heading to the dollar store tomorrow to pick up a few more panels,a squeegy, and shower curtain. Got more landscape paintings to do😊
