    Hi, can i put glow powder in it? It will glow? Thank you sir.

    • @scibear9944
      @scibear9944 4 роки тому +7

      Probably not. Crystals form from PURE molecules. This means that the crystal forming process will exclude other molecules (like the chemicals in glow powder) that might be in the solution.
      Now, that being said, if the crstalization process is imperfect, some glow chemicals might be included in the final crystal. It would depend on whether or not the glow powder actually dissolves in water. You'll have to experiment for yourself to see.
      Also, DIYBama has other videos with other chemicals, like alum and ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, which can be colored with food colors. You might try getting a cheap hilighter and squeezing the "juice" into the solution. You won't get glow in the dark crystals, but you should get crystals that are fluorescent and glow under black light, which would be pretty cool, too😎

    Do you boil the solution and fissolve the small crytals again before putting the seeds back? Or do you just filter drirectly then soak?

    • @seanbutts6200
      @seanbutts6200 3 роки тому

      it is slightly toxic to the touch so the nail polish protects you. It also stops the crystal from losing or gaining water which can change the color/opacity of it.

    Just a question. I have planned to do this experiment, but I wonder how I should dispose the solution wastes? I have heard and read that copper sulfate is very hazardous. Is Potassium Ferrycyanide as dangerous?

    • @stevenlewis1333
      @stevenlewis1333 Рік тому

      Potassium ferrycyanide has a low toxicity, but can be irritable chemical if was touched by skin or somehow got in your eyes. Always wear protection and if like any chemical dispose of it properly. Chemicals should not be disposed into nature.
