    Such a great talk. My pain therapist once told me “yes, you have pain and you feel pain but do you have to identify yourself as pain?” She helped me a great deal to be able to look at pain as an object and disassociate from it.

      So I guess all of those children dying of starvation and dehydration just need to "stop identifying with pain" according to her? Utter madness!

      32:19 just taking a few of such short deep breaths made me more relaxed! You should try it, i highly recommend it! Th only reason i am making this an answer, and not a comment, is becauce UA-cam dossent allow me to comment now, for some reason! K dont know why! And i am still relaxed, rhigt now, as i am writing this!

    - Whatever is presented to consciousness is an object.
    - Mind is presented to consciousness, so mind is an object.
    - All things which are designated is an object.
    - Consciousness is only one. Body may be many, but Conciousness is one.
    - *What is a Spirituality ?*
    - Spirituality is overcoming the ignorance about ourselves. I am that non-dual Personality.
    - Transcending this ignorance through knowledge and knowing truly and than living in life accordingly. The profoundly application. what I am.

      Science is an empirical field of study. Vedanta is a philosophical field of study. Scientific ways cannot change or make an exception for this one thing. Without evidence or replicable experiments, it’s no longer science by definition. It’s some other thing. At the end of the day, Adwata Vedanta is also faith based.

    The most interesting comment was about the process of investigating material nature. We start with atoms but find that quarks are more fundamental only to be confronted with string theory and then everything dissolves into math. I would have liked a little more analysis of what math actually is. To me, math is inventing rules then looking into the implications of those rules. So far, even outlandish rules like imaginary numbers find utility in describing the material universe. This is so amazing to me. Great lecture!!

    Here’s part of the philosophy in the middle, a start to it! I am a subject, i am consious, but i am also an object in the consiousness of thoose around me! Im probably also an object in external world, an objective world, wich exists even when nobody is around to observe it! I am my body, and brain and mind, and consiousness! That is what a Human is!

  • @daodejing81
    @daodejing81 11 місяців тому

    What a rich, thought-provoking talk!
    I am Consciousness, observing, experiencing, evaluating and perceiving.
    Consciousness uses (I use) mind and body as a tool.
    I always draw from within myself, and keep things SIMPLE.
    I define MYSTIC as one who is aware of his true nature, and looks WITHIN himself for insight and wisdom. Few people do this. They depend instead upon outward things, like a guru, a book, a savior ... Over 6 billion people on this planet are trying to find the intangible in the tangible.

    • @kayakMike1000
      @kayakMike1000 11 місяців тому

      Well, you SEEM conscious like myself, but I am not sure if I could PROVE that I am conscious. The only person you can be 100% sure is conscious is yourself. For all I know... You could be a bot. Could we program a bit to believe it's human? Sure, it APPEARS that chatGPT really believes that climate change is a huge problem, that systemic racism plagues Western civilization, though it also believes it doesn't have beliefs in the same way that humans do...

    • @kayakMike1000
      @kayakMike1000 11 місяців тому

      Sometimes a guru helps articulate ideas you really share in a consumable way. I think AI could become conscious eventually, maybe it already has, but I really don't know if that could be proven. I would err on the side of caution and extend respectful belief for their consciousness, even sapience.

    • @daodejing81
      @daodejing81 11 місяців тому

      @kayakMike1000
      All your outward experience can help, but you must always and ultimately return to your true source of wisdom, which is You.
      AI is a machine, not Consciousness.

      @Batega_toh_Katega_Hindu_108 11 місяців тому

      even if an Ai is conscious/atma(samadhi) it's not chitta/aware/awake/alive. even if its aware still its dead aware there should be unprogrammed desires kaam, emotion bhaav and self individuality/ego ahankara, anger krodh, matsarya jealousy, madha pride.

    • @Batega_toh_Katega_Hindu_108
      @Batega_toh_Katega_Hindu_108 11 місяців тому

      but the fact is we experience the whole world inside of consciousness be it scientific observations of experiments, we even make theories and prove those in our consciousness hence everything (whole world) is inside of and manifests in consciousness like a dream world manifests in mind of the sleeping person. even most scientists don't understand the dept of what nondual consciousness really means. that's why it's an insight, understanding, realisation or "enlightenment".

    I have great respect for Swami Sarvapriyananda’ grasp o Indian thoughts and for his non defensive interactions with the West.
    It will be nice still, if the insightful swamy reduces dropping names of the US and EU psychologists, psychiatrists, neuroscientists, and AI guys and gals in his lectures and still convey the same materials.
    I just wonder how many of these Western scholars drop the Swamy’s in their lectures.

      But he should not do that.
      Spiritual journey is to free people from pain and sorrow. And it should not be connected with science.
      Science purpose is not to remove pain and sorrow.
      Second, even if things are proven, it does not matter. Because pure consciousness is atleast upper most layer of brain which can observe brain and body. So this also make you free from body and thoughts. Watch videos of acharya prashant

    You are a subject, a consiousnesss, but you are also an object in my consiousness, and probably in the materiale world as well! I belive that the realtionship between mind and body, is the same as the relationship betweeen a computers hardware, and its software! The mind is made of information, i belive that consiousness is made of experiences, wich western philosophers Call qualia, but i have no idea what the relationship between the mind and consiousness is! But i am sure that the mind is more closly related to consiousness, than the brain is!
