Saugatuck and across the Kalamazoo River, Douglas, also known as the Art Coast of Michigan are cute towns littered with fantastic restaurants, an active local art scene, and one of the top beaches in all of Michigan. We hope you enjoy our one-day exploring Saugatuck Douglas!

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.

Love Saugatuck. I always stay at Saugatuck Cottage Suites (SaugatuckCottageSuites) when I come to beautiful Saugatuck to enjoy so much of Pure Michigan right here in this magical town. Beaches, restaurants, art... Enjoying a bonfire in the backyard of Saugatuck Cottage Suites. So much to do... Convenient, close to everything. Spring flowers and Hololland Tulip Festival, Summer beaches and Summer in Saugatuck, Autum leaves... No matter the time of year, Saugatuck is magical. If you're in Saugatuck go across the river into Douglas. There are some very good art galleries and restaurants there as well.

I live in saugatuck and some of my favorite things to do are go on walks around down town and go to mount bald head with my friends and run to the beach, also it’s so pretty in the winter and you can snowboard or ski down and it’s so fun

Love this video about Saguatuck. When I do the Loop, I'm spending the biggest bulk of the trip exploring Michigan. Jenn, we share a similar taste in salads. For beer, I'd probably do a Porter, Stout, Red Ale or Black and Tan.

We really liked Saugatuck, a fun town!
Jenn, i had to come back to comment on the radar station on top of Mt. Bakdhead. As a child of the Cold War era and the days of the former Soviet Union, the station was one of many NORAD operated throughout Canada and the northern tier of the US to keep watch and warn of an aerial attack by Soviet nuclear bombers and long range attack aurcraft. Such statiins were part of our American military "sheild" against an attack by our major adversary.

Did you see or hear of the Chain ferry? It crosses the river into town from the base of Mt Baldhead every half hour or so…

Keep str8ies out of Saugatuck
What are str8ies?
Nothing wrong with Oval beach, but really the State park beaches at Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon are nicer. They are much larger and the sand is "cleaner". (less sticks and stones and what not). And they have piers to walk out on, and/or fish from. Just a little something else to do.

Just having a problem with the fact that your videos are a year behind. Love your stuff but for some strange reason this bothers me.
For daily videos on the loop it’s impossible to deliver them real-time, even with a full team ! We don’t have the budget of a full time team, but still want to share our daily experiences. So the trade off is the delay! I doubt most would even know these are a year delayed if we didn’t mention it. In two months we will be releasing videos with the same month only a year later
