  • Calm mornings are everything when living on anchor. Today, we wake up to the sounds of birds chirping, the water is like glass, and we get to enjoy it a bit more since we don't have to leave at the crack of dawn. We have one lock on the way to Demopolis, Alabama, but with the flood stage and crazy river current, today might end much differently than it started.
    Thanks for watching!
    Cheers from the Loop,
    Jennifer and Elliot

    ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.
Thank you for following us along our journey!

Wow, the river outside your cabin likes like it’s going by, not at 11 mph, but at car speed!

Boating in the California Delta area during the winter we were always on the look out for weird stuff in the water but never a refrigerator door, lol We had a lot of docks with similar conditions and your plan is spot on.

Oh wow! We had some friends that boated in the delta a lot, looked like an awesome place to cruise 😁

@@SchoandJo It was incredible! We boated all year but in the winter the giant trees floating the Sacramento River was no joke.

That meal! Wow, looked so good. But that river looked awful treacherous.

I would have tied off a second forward bow line for added security.. If the single bow line or a cleat breaks you are going to have your hands full with that current.

If you saw the refrigerator door in the lock, where was the rest of the refrigerator? Still attached? Crazy amount of debris there! Safe cruising - remember warmer weather is coming (eventually!)
