  • It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Edward Pola and George Wyle, arr. James Marshall)
A musical season's greetings from The Yehudi Menuhin School. This arrangement of ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year' is performed by members of our orchestra and arranged by James, one of our own pupils, who also features as a solo violinist alongside another pupil, Sasha.
James says: 'It has been a very enjoyable experience arranging and then rehearsing 'It's the Most Wonderful time of the Year'. It is an homage to our founder, Lord Menuhin, who is my biggest inspiration, and to the jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli with whom Menuhin famously collaborated to the delight of audiences around the world. I don't think they ever did a Christmas number together, so perhaps now is the time - the most wonderful time!'

That this light can be brought into the dark months of the northern hemisphere in this truly wonderful production is testament indeed to the towering talents of the students of the Yehudi Menuhin School of Music. This recording should go viral. I'm sending to all my friends instead of a seasonal card. Thank you so much.

@@PrudenceJacques Since when is the truth considered negativity? These kids are supposed to be professionals. I am sorry that you never heard proper playing.

So what is proper playing for you?
Be glad you can see this kind of music and admit it, The Yehudi Menuhin School is one of the best existing school for Music Education.
Even if a passage was out of tune, it’s humane. Yehudi’s teachings were not about perfect interpretation, no, they were completely opposite.
Give a listen to him and his teachings for music and violin in general. Lock in and see how pure his ideas are and how kind he is. Or the other “World Class” Soloist. Do they perfectly in tune all the time? If you think that a student’s ability is determined by their intonation, dear Sir/Madam, then I’m sorry to say but you shouldn’t teach or perform under the Classical Music sector.
These students are getting amazing opportunities, and it showcases how true the school is and how it hasn’t lost its values.
Keep up the good work YMS! Very proud of what you do for the school and the pupils!
A big applause to Sasha and James and to everyone in the crew who made it happen.
Wall of Shame for you commentator who claims the “truth”!

@@PrudenceJacques Misha's teacher was the head of strings at this school, so no need to tell me about it. I know far more than you do. It used to be unthinkable to play out of tune at the concert at this school. Or yes, the student current level of ability of course is determined by their intonation, this is the opinion of the teacher brought in by Menuhin himself. Shame on you, jealous.
