Pete, I had testicular cancer in 1994 (when I was 23). They removed my right testicle and I had radiation therapy. Based on the type of tumor I had they stated I didn't need any chemotherapy. For years I felt fine but as I got into my 30's I started feeling worse and worse (always tired and was gaining weight easily). When I got my blood work done they said I had the T levels of a 90 year old man. They put me on HRT and I've been on it ever since. I take 1 ml (200 mg) every 2 weeks. My wife gives me my shot and it's not that bad. :) I've skipped a shot on accident from time to time and I can definitely tell the difference. Not so much with my energy levels but with my emotions. God forbid a Hallmark commercial comes on! I'm 48 now and unfortunately being a cancer survivor that is on your mind all the time. Any little lump or pain and your brain starts racing and thinking all the wrong things. When I do that I've seen it can also make me physically sick. After my surgery in 93' and waiting on scan results was the worse 2 weeks of my life. I literally told myself daily I was going to die from cancer. I was so physically sick I wasn't able to work. The strange thing is though when I got my results and everything was negative I was immediately healed from what my brain was telling me. Your brain is a powerful thing. Stay focused, stay positive, and keep fighting your fight! You're a beast!

Are you going to ignore what he had eat for so many years? Cancer will come back in other parts if he gonna carry on like that, so much carcinogens and stuff, it was like "cancer fuel" even after he was diagnosed he was eating so much crap straight away. My brother lost both his balls and he was different too until he started the testosterone shots.... he was super lethargic, moody and just generally flat. Once he started the shots he was normal again within a couple of hours he was bouncing off the walls! Hope you have the same results mate! You deserve a good outcome here! Testicular cancer is in my family and so far I’m very lucky to have not been affected but it’s a bitch of a thing to have to deal with. Sorry you are going through this.

So I may not have had testicular cancer, but I did lose my left testicle due to testicular torsion. My doc mis-diagnosed me, and I had to have an emergency operation to have it removed. It had swelled up to the size of a tennis ball and a half. I had to accept the fact that I was losing mine in the course of 30 min. For some reason I was not really bothered by it. I knew when I returned to middle school people would eventually find out through my close friends. So I decided to tell everyone and make joke's about it myself. I would call myself things like "the Uniballer" or "half sack". To my surprise this actually worked because when people tried to use it against me and make fun of me I could not care less. In other words I owned it. I made it apart of who I was and accepted it, and it made me a stronger and more humble person in the end. I know its no where near as bad as loosing both but I guess what I am trying to say Is what does not kill you Pete, make you a stronger and better human. You can do this mate. own it and don't be consumed by it. Love ya man and take care.
More people need to be aware of tesicular torsion very scary only take 5 hours to lose a ball ,worst experience of my life.

Omg, finally someone who had it. I had testicular tortion and my doctor thankfully diagnosed me straight away. He called the hospital ready for an operation. If I didn't go to the doctors I wouldn't have testicles today. I'm sorry that your doctor did not diagnose you correctly. Hope you are doing alright.
I had testicular torsion when I was 12. Worst pain in my life. Fainted at the hospital. Balls be fine now though, phew.

Best regards from Germany! I'm a two times testicular cancer surviver as well and lost my 2nd ball last year. So far no complains about the gel but the blood work next week will show the results.

I feel like all these changes happened so fast. It’s almost like you didn’t have a choice in being able to adjust to the situation but you accepted it like a champ. Whatever comes your way you fight through it. I remember when you battled cancer twice before and I really admired your courage. You already went through so much that it should have been the end of your trials. You are the definition of a true warrior.

My dad had prostate cancer. He went through treatment and did good for about 4 months, then it came back. When it came back the second time, it was more serious. But he had mood swings too because his testosterone was pretty much non-existent. I wouldn't ever take it personal ever because i knew he was fighting for his life at that point. I know men are stubborn, and a lot of it has to do with how much your willing to fight it. On top of that, he was into body building/weight lifting. He went from 205lbs to 155. And when he was feeling better he started weight lifting and his weight was back up to 185 and he was enjoying his free time. He faught it for 6 years until there was nothing left they could do. If they did any more radiation, it was going to burn up his insides, and surgery would have caused the cancer to spread throughout his entire body and kill him much faster. The last 4 to 8 months was so sad to see my daddy go through what he went through, but at the same time was the most intimate bond him and i had ever had. Time is so precious, its okay to cry. You never know what may become of all of this. God holds each and every one of us in the palm of His hands. Im not trying to push religion, just wanting to bring comfort in the best way that I know. Its very difficult for a man to speak up about their health issues because they dont want others to be worried about them. And so what your doing with the vlog speaks volumes about your compassion for others. Just know, your not alone. Your in Gods hands and He is the author and finisher of our faith. My heart goes out to people like this because I understand what they're going through to some degree because of what I saw taking care of my dad. Try not to worry or stress, it could bring your immune system down and make you sick. Feel better Peter. Hope you can find a place of peace and rest for your mind. Prayers going up daily. Get well soon !

Thanks for the video man. Much respect it will definitaley help others with similar cancers. While not your type of cancer, I have accinic cell carcinoma and CT scans and I know waiting for results is rough. I watch youtube videos of people with my kind of cancer and it helps and I know this video is helping others with your kinds of cancer too.
On a side note, I had a buddy who got prosthetic ones. He said they made him feel whole again.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think it’s great for people to share these types of experiences to help others, let yourself vent, create dialogue, etc.
I do self injections every week, not hormones but medication, it’s really quick and easy. They can give you supplies needed if you’ll be traveling. Idk if testosterone injections have to be cold but my medication does and it sounded like a hassle to work around, but there’s insulated packs that last many hours.

Brother Pete, forget about "getting back" - we can only move forward. You're spot on with the "feeling different", and I hate to say it but that rollercoaster is just beginning. Very interested in how the TRT progresses. I was told (in 1980 when I went through it) that TRT was absolutely verboten, that it would cause the cancer to return blah blah. Of course, the chemotherapeutic agent used on me is now a biohazard and not allowed near humans, so there may have been a learning curve involved. The only tumor marker they looked for was alpha feta protein. So you, young warrior, may well help me (a very old and weary warrior) improve overall health. I did do some TRT a couple years back with the gel, and it seemed to help (but I was SO gun-shy about using it!). IM was not available. Problem with the gel is letting it touch anyone else, particularly a female. It's bad for them; and thus it may be annoying to have around. If the IM can be scheduled (and if it works, of course) that may be a better option - but you tell me! Hang in there! While scary and annoying the journey will be fascinating.
