Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. If we want to satisfy the desires of our flesh, we're constantly monitoring the stick market, watching pornography, etc. It's just a tool.

Again... This entire existence in totality is not new to me. The Dark God existed before in another iteration of existence. It may return again, because Mankind made contact with malevolent forces.

The reason why I believe Cliffe over other's arguments is because he doesn't argue from emotional standing. In fact, he quotes his source of information and through logical thinking A+B=C, so then B-C=A. I don't really see anyone quoting the studies of great agnostic scientists or agnostic philosiphers, instead their arguments consist of "God is bad, because I FEEL that way."

Cliffe travels around and speaks on many different campuses! Yes, we are supposed to adopt the same attitudes that Jesus had and to show His love through us. If we’re truly saved, we have the Holy Spirit (God in us) who helps us to follow Him and guides our consciousness.

Do the same logical rules that apply to the moral relativist also apply to the subjective Scriptural interpreter? The worldview of the moral relativist has no objective standard of morality, but neither does the paradigm of subjective Scriptural interpretation. So, in the same way that the opposite view of the moral relativist is equally valid, wouldn't the opposite of one's subjective interpretation of Scriptural be equally valid as well?

Nonsense "values" are subjective BY DEFINITION. The word "value" discribes a relationship of worth between a "valuer" and that which is "valued." When we discuss moral values WE are the "valuer"
To a man dying of thirst and stranded in the midst of a vast desert a cup of water would hold immense incalculable "value" However to a man drowning in the midst of a vast lake the same cup of water would hold no "value" whatsoever.
It is however possible to make statements of objectivity, from with a pre determined subjective and arbitrarily concieved of framework. For example an old photo or memento of a lost loved one may hold real "intrinsic" value to the family and friends of said loved one. However once one leaves that specific subjective reference framework that same photo or memento may be something thats thrown in the bin without a second thought by others.

As my days go on, i find myself more and more wanting a connection with God. To be forgiven and to have that help. I want it. But im scared i dont deserve it. That forgiveness wouldnt be had. How i would ever be cleansed of my sins, which i feel are innumerable.
Yet, i have always felt...safe? Protected? At ease. Whenever im in a church; no matter how few times i find myself in them.
Cliffe and his son are helping me to feel comfortable, i guess, with approaching God. And i am grateful.

@bonnie43uk God was an aspect of my life as a child because I had no other choice. As I got older I fell further from God, and for many years and as much as I hate to say it even recently I struggle with lust, and succumbing to desire. Unfortunate exposure at a young age, that has done nothing but sit there like a lingering shadow. But I could be a better son, better brother. I don't even know how many others I may have committed.
I say "innumerable" when talking about my sin because that's how they feel to me. That I've done it so much, that there IS so much.

I have a totally different take on lust, I think it's perfectly natural and it's something I embrace, sex is one of life's free pleasures and there are plenty of ways to enjoy it, I embrace that sexual desire, we're bombarded with sexual images, it's one of the most natural things in the world. I certainly don't buy this "If you look at a woman with lust, you are committing adultery in your heart", that's nonsense. Women look at men with lust all the time, we are sexual creatures, if you try and supress those thoughts it can drive you crazy 🙂
The book,mere Christianity by c.s Lewis, is a great short book!!! We are saved by grace (gods unmerited favour. Grace is getting what we don’t deserve. We never deserve forgiveness, we deserve punishment for our sins, but God is merciful. I’d say that your heart is being softened towards God, and he is drawing you near, god bless.
I trust Jesus though, not you. If Jesus is the son of God, then I take his word above yours. Jesus says that if you look upon a woman lustfully, then you have committed lust, he’s right. Yes sexual urges are common, but it’s still wrong to have premarital sex, or to even look at a woman lustfully. It’s a sin to live after your desires like that. Walk in the spirit not in the flesh. Jesus says the flesh is weak, but the soul is willing. You do have a choice in what religion you choose actually, don’t give me that nonsense! We all have free will, so don’t act like you’re in pure subjection to how you grow up. I grew up Christian but became an athiest, then found my way to Christ. Muslims have converted, and many people from all walks of life have converted. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and you have a choice to make, to accept him or deny him. To follow him, or not. You’d be wise to.

Did cyber crime exist in biblical times?, of course not, so, when computers were invented we also invented the term cyber crime, and came up with laws to prevent it. Humans are incredibly adaptable when it comes to making new laws, no God is required.

Hey , im a christian but im confused about one thing, if anyone could answer me that would be great.So it took god seven days to create the earth and science says that the universe is about 14billion years old so if god built the earth in seven days you would expect that a star or another planet would take about 1 day, and there are 200 sextillion stars in the universe which is 2 000000000000000000000.if you divided this number by 365 it would still lead to a way bigger number that 14 billion, so my question is how did god have time to crate all the stars,planets,meteorites and black holes in enough time if it took him 7 days to create the earth?
clearly, the bible was written by people who had no way of knowing anything about stars and galaxies. Think about it, lets suppose we were born into this world and did not have the astronomical knowledge we're privileged to have, that knowledge took thousands of years to glean, and we learned more and more over hundreds and hundreds of years. Only about 100 years ago we had no idea that galaxies are moving away at incredible speeds and the Universe is expanding. As much as we do know, it's a tiny drop in the ocean of knowledge regarding the cosmos. Now think about people living a few thousand years ago, their knowledge would have been a tiny fraction of what we know today. So, in order to try and make sense of the world and beyond, they came up with simple stories to explain things, that's why it took so long for mankind to figure out that we're actually not the center of the universe, and the Sun does not orbit us, it's completely the other way round, but our eyes and senses deceive us and it looks to all intense and purpose as though the Sun is moving and we're sitting still, but science showed us the truth.
Don't use that science standart to measuring bible because bible is not meant to be scientific book.

If I steal the last loaf of bread from a starving family is that just as evil as if they steal a loaf of bread from someone who has plenty?
Why would morality being relative mean that I would be okay with people doing anything? There are countless reasons to stop others from doing things other than morality being objective.

What atheist fail to realize is that morality is mere opinion without God.
I believe that is precisely what atheists are saying, in other words, it's relative to each one of us. Fortunately, the most of us do share the same or similar moral values throughout, regardless of race, gender, culture, history, language, etc.

@@tTtt-ho3tq well, morals have to do with how we treat others and what is deemed as acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, whether something is beneficial to ourselves and others, so morals are not always a clear black and white issue, eg: is it moral to smack a child? .. that would depend on that persons opinions whether it was going to be beneficial or harmful in the long run, parents disagree wildly on corporal punishment. There is no ultimate "absolute answer" as far as I'm aware.

I would believe in God any God and Religion if there was actually evidence. I been an atheist majority of my life but an uneducated none believer when I was younger who didn’t know anything about science and evidence against Religions/Gods especially Christianity. In 2004 age 19 I was going through a deep depression and I was given Lee Strobel books from deeply religious uncle. I fell for Christian apologetics and creationism because I didn’t know any better. Wasn’t until I researched science and counter apologetics for the first time. Lee Strobel and others like him lie for profits, their arguments reinforced there no evidence for Christianity. Lee Strobel and other like minded apologetics use bible as evidence for the Bible, like the eye witness to Jesus resurrection, empty tomb and etc. with no evidence outside the bible supporting it. Even the exact location of Jesus tomb hasn’t been discovered, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Talpiot Tomb, Roza Bal, The Garden Tomb, Kirisuto no haka, are popular beliefs of tomb location with no solid evidence for resurrection from any tomb.
There are suicide cults like Havens Gate who also castrated male members who died for a lie (Doctrin) they deeply sincerely believed in, even the cult leader Marshall Applewhite believed what he preached, he suffered from mental illness. There other suicide cults to. Also none of the gospel writers were actual friends of Jesus, they were written in Greek decades even a century later as is the case of Gospel of John. Writers are anonymous who used the names of Jesus friends, wrote down the oral stories about Jesus, which was common among the minority of literate people/Christians at time period. There was a lot of different gospels written and in 325 AD the Council of Nicaea choose which writings made it into the bible. I recommend you read Bart D Ehrman books to learn factual infomation. Even if they were eyewitness of Jesus resurrection, there are people alive today who claimed to have seen, big foot, fairies, space aliens and etc. if you unwilling to dedicate your life to people you can talk to today, why dedicate your life to claims of people who lived thousands of years ago?
The old testament ancient Jews and modern day Muslims sacrifice animals to the Abrahamic God, God wants animal sacrifices which seems stereotypical satanic ritualistic. Was God unable to have come up with better options than animal sacrifices, maybe God has limitations which contradict with Gods attributes I get into later.
Reasons for animal sacrifices is due to repentance for original sin caused by Adam and Eve bringing sin into the world which makes no sense. God created Adam and Eve without the knowledge of good and evil aka right, and wrong much like a baby understanding. God supposed to be all knowing, all powerful and perfect somehow expected adults with a baby like comprehension of right and wrong to obey him and not eat the forbidden fruit in which God created and placed in their midts (garden of eden). It like if parents placed a poisonous plant into theirs babies play pen and get angry their baby didn’t listen to them about not eating poison plant. Such parents deserve to spend rest of their lives in prison.
Christianity is self refuting, Jesus and God supposedly one and the same, therefore God cannot be all powerful, all knowing, all loving, forgiving and perfect because God has limitations by not being able to just forgive humanity, instead God went through all the trouble of turning himself into a human in order to sacrifice (human sacrifice) himself to himself to please himself which we told is why Christians don’t have to commit animal sacrifices.

A lot of passages support slavery and some can be interpreted against it, no biblical laws clearly against owning humans as property. There no scripture in bible supporting democracy nor mention of anything similar to democracy, USA founding fathers was influenced by ancient Greece democracy and USA founding was a product of the secular age of enlightenment, a lot of the founding fathers were not even Christians example Thomas Jefferson was a Deist, read his Jefferson Bible.
No passage In bible supports democracy nor anything close to a democracy like the USA Democratic Republic form of government, no scripture clearly supports child labor laws, no scripture supports women having equal rights as men. I can go on and on. Your God probably doesn’t exist and your religion is bullshit. The bible doesn’t have timeless morality it a product of the time period it was written in and the good morals in bible are nothing special, majority of societies and religions around the world have laws against murder, it not unique to Abraham religions and predates them, it a natural survival instinct to not want to live in a society with rampant murders. Religion are all man made and humanity needs to move away from and all other dogmatism to including political dogma, communism, fascism and etc.

This idea has been going around for years and is pushed by numerous groups that want to advance the corrupted scripture idea. Cliffe is correct here. According to the entire New Testament you are saved by grace and sanctified by the Holy Spirit. This process of sanctification makes a person more holy as they now desire to do the will of God and hate sin. So yes. Faith is dead without works. Paul would agree.

Cliffe is wrong about Paul and James. Paul never said we had to abstain from sin for the sake of salvation. Neither did James. Paul wrote, clearly, we are saved by faith, not of works. We are not saved through faith and living out anything. Cliffe blew that one.
