  • Visual artist based in New York, who has gained international recognition by his work made of trash and recyclable materials. From his notions and experiences as a visual artist, Muñiz offers an enriched and multidimensional concept of perception, making connections with the concept of materiality and the context of reference to artistic production and consumption.

His series of installations made with garbage and waste (2006) inspired Wasteland, a documentary nominated for the Oscars awards, which narrates the process of an artistic intervention in a huge landfill in Rio de Janeiro.
