It was a shortcut by animators who didn't really know The Beatles real personalities, and made them caricatures of themselves to appeal to children for laughs. John Lennon notoriously hated these cartoons in the 1960's, but softened up a bit in the 70's when he showed them to his son Sean . Back in the 60's, he complained "They made us look like the bloody Flintstones." Wrong animation studio, John, but close. George Harrison wasn't too keen on the cartoons either, stating in an interview once, "They're so bad, they're good." I grew up with this cartoon, and I am glad that some (but not all of them yet" are available on UA-cam after years of Apple Records playing hardball with their lawyers to keep these cartoons out of circulation (mostly because of now racist depictions of Asians, Native Americans, & Mexicans, among other ethnic groups depicted in the series. King Features, Inc. did that ethnic stereotyping in many of their cartoons during the Al Brodax years in the 1960's. )
I'm glad that these "Ringo the Substitute Propman " clips are not marked for kids. I mean, I get it’s a kids show, but not every thing of a kid show has to be made for them.

Today, it' s politically incorrect, but still funny. Tex Avery & Friz Freeleng probably got away with explosion/blackface humor more than any cartoonist/animator during the 30's & 40's. Other animators played catch up to them.
There was a lot of racist/ethnic caricatures in many of the King Features cartoons. Popeye, Cool McCool, and Beetle Bailey had them too. It was a common trend in the 1940's-1960's.
