I know this video is some month old, but I always look forward to see new video from Simon
@@perlarsen8327 thank you very much indeed. Hope you enjoy my future updates. It's a pleasure and well appreciate your following. Thanks buddy
I'm completely new to amateur radio. This was very helpful because it answered a lot of questions in a very clear way. Thank you!
Welcome to the world of amateur radio you are going to have lots of fun getting into the many aspects of the hobby. Satellite is really cool and with a small hand held beam you can do amazing things. Glad you enjoyed this and it was of use to you 👍 good luck and thank you for posting your comment.
Hey bro! Another good sat video/tutorial session. Always good. Have a good night. Hope you had a good weekend. 73 from your "family" across the pond. Talk with you soon.
Thanks Pat. Best 73 your way catch up soon

Excellent video.
Thank you buddy 😁
Excellent tutorial
Thanks Alan 😁
Thanks bro! Lots of good info!
Your very welcome 😁
Hi there, If I were to use a G5500 rotator with 2/70 beams in my back garden how high do you think I would require the aerials to be at? My gutter height is 5m, then another 2.x m worth of pitched roof. My proposed pole position will be around 13m away from my house at the back end of my garden. I was thinking maybe 4m-5m high? With a useable starting Elevation of lets say 5 degrees? The houses at the rear of me also have their back gardens backing onto mine, so those houses are also 14m away from me. Many Thanks Mike M3VDL
@@TheGoose81 hi Mike it will work well. I had mine ground mounted at first and it was fine. I also do well with the tripod mounted arrow on the ground. The best results are away from obstruction rather than height. One thing to remember is that the 435 - 437 MHz feedline is important to have the best quality you can afford as the losses are high on that band which effects the RX quality due to the low signal strength from the birds. So the shortest length required. The G-5500 rotator are great 👍 especially with a RS232 type interface unit hooked up to a cat control cable into the pc. Hope you get it all sorted and look forward to catching you on the sats
Simon are you trying a moon bounce later or iss again
Hi buddy I will be checking out the Satellite tracker and see what's in range. The ISS is now daytime passes so I will miss most due to being at work. EME Sounds cool but I probably would need a decent 2m amp to boost the output to be able to get a signal back. I probably will be able to receive signals from high powered ground stations with my antennas but I think it's usually a digital transmission mode rather than voice. Still it will be good to see if I can receive anything next time the moon is in a decent position. Catch you later bro 73
