As an operator it makes every bit of sense to check PEP output of my equipment in stead of going to AM FM CW ETC if this wasn't a valued feature then y is it standard on al pwr/swr meter currently available today
We will cancel this socket in future products as it has not been used. If you really need a serial data output interface, we may produce a dedicated version in the future.
Something is puzzling me, what's the rationale behind having 2 batteries and USB charging instead of a standard 12/13.8V input? I mean if this thing would be 200gr I'd say, ok you can bring it portable but at 1.2kg it stays in the shack and now we have to suss out a different way to power it? There must be a reason I dont see!
@@marklowe7431 well, it's weird to now have to get a noisy 12v to usbc device when you don't really need to... usbc is ubiquitous on devices because normal people dont have 12v everywhere they go :/
Seems to be a great addon wit a lot of features but ssb mode no avg/pep for me it's a big missing, so what i read was half power? correct only in cw/fm .. hope in the future with software upgrade can resolve the problem for ssb mode 73 de iz3qvb
Hello Sir If it is necessary to measure PEP power in SSB mode, a diode must be used. The nonlinear characteristics of the diode will be introduced, causing the measurement results to lose the expected accuracy.
Thank you, Sir. A great question. We can improve it based on customer feedback. Of course, we hope it is automatic range. Usually we use it in SSB mode, and we don't want its range to constantly switch, which can make us confused. How do you want it to determine the range?

The sampling seems very fast compared to others. The screen is super clear. Great choices.
The bar should mark the max for longer. And maybe add a yellow mark showing the median power output.
Looks a great meter but average and PEP setting are a must if this option was available I would purchase to try but not without
Calculating and displaying an inaccurate PEP power result is certainly achievable.
But doing so makes no sense.

Maybe a few years back I would be asking the same but the 3.3v/5v USB-C is somewhat a standard now. Even most handhelds are going that way. VNA's etc.

There are PEP kits for the Bird 43. Please add PEP capabilities with accurate measurement and I'll purchase immediately.
Can you detect the mode and show on the screen? CW, SSB, AM?
