What wonderful content, presented by a thoroughly likable pair. I have watched this video two or three times, now. I get more enjoyment out of watching one of Steve's videos for the second or third time than watching most other videos for the first time. It's kind of like re-experiencing a favorite walking route versus a new, dull one. Sometimes you just know that you can't go wrong. I even sit through the commercials instead of skipping them, knowing it helps Steve (and sometimes Alicja) to keep traveling and to share their experiences with the world.
This was so lovely to watch as I have so many fun memories from my childhood of the two original bridges whenever I visited my Scottish grandparents in Fife (good ol' Dunfermline and inverkeithing). Hope to get back there some day. Best wishes Steve from across the channel and congrats on the milestone !
I came across you channel by accident. Great walk. I live in London but visit Scotland regularly. I will be looking at you old videos. Congratulations on 15K subscribers. That is hard to do these days.
What absolutely cracking video mr Steve me and kean went to North Queensferry last year to the Scottish seaside centre as we were watching this video just now the squeals of excitement from my boy were amazing as we too went up the smallest lightower as well he was so exited when he recognised the tower and the train station at Dalmeny thank you for inspiring my son to an our trip in August to your fair land as he has autism your videos get his mind working overtime watching your videos and trying to recognise places we have been in Edinburgh thank you both again for entertaining us and kean says you must have some cold drinks lol thanks again from joff and kean
So very nice to accompany you two on your 20+ mile trek. There was so much beauty. One part was amusing when you were discussing the somewhat disheveled section. As you said the words, you were walking by a gorgeous shrub. :-) Loved the many greenways. Thank you for sharing.
Superb walking video yet again. Your walking trips have inspired me to walk more also. I watched your video on walking between Edinburgh and Glasgow via the canal and have set off to do the same (in wee bites)) from Bowling in the west through to Edinburgh. Today completed Linlithgow to Broxburn alll thanks to your video idea thanks.
Loved this! I walked part of the Fife Coastal Path this past Saturday from BurntIsland to Kirkcaldy (I can’t walk as far as you two). So beautiful. I’ll definitely be going back to walk more of it. After watching this, I want to walk over the bridge and through North Queensferry. 😊 Congratulations on 15K subscribers! 🎉
Another terrific video. Such engaging commentary and great views. You have a real ability to make the viewer feel like they are on the journey with you (without the tired legs!). Please keep them coming. I've never seen such good vlogs.
Just recently found your channel.. I was born in Newbridge midlothian but now living in Dublin. You brought back great memories talking about the Forth Road Bridge. Like your mum and dad I remember queuing for hours to get across on the first day. The queue went as far back as Kirkliston. My dad was also driving his Ford Zephyr. Really enjoying your channel.
Genuinely delightful Steve. Another lovely edition to your endeavours. What a slog though, 21 Miles. Wow - I bet you were utterly exhausted after that effort. Thanks for sharing these, the Scottish tourist board should give you an award or sponsor you or something. You really present Scotland in a beautiful light. Cracking stuff. Well done on fifteen thousand Subscribers. Cheers.
Cheers Ric! Thanks so much for the kind words! We both really appreciate it. And yes, we were EXHAUSTED after this one! I think we have found our daily limit :)
That's a terrific effort. Well done to you both! Always enjoy walking in Fife. I'm walking from Glasgow City Centre to Balloch Castle at Loch Lomond on Friday. Roughly 20 miles. Another enjoyable vlog. Keep up the good work!.
Cracking video Steve. Funnily enough my dad mentioned only last week that he wanted to walk across the bridges at some point this summer and then this gem pops up. Well done on 15k followers too, great work
Amazing, I did not see any trash / litter in this whole video. Along the coast, no junk, cans, bottles on the shoreline. Fantastic video! Glad to know there is a country in the world that takes pride in their cities.
Brings back good memories, I lived in Grangemouth, just up river, back in 1950s, moved to Devon but returned to that area now and again to work in Rosyth Naval Dockyard....
Watching your videos gives me a chance to see places I’d never see otherwise, buildings, towns and countryside. Scotland has always fascinated me and now I’m seeing it. Thank you.
Aberdour, that’s awesome. On our first Scotland trip our family stayed there in a former stable on Christmas Eve and it snowed overnight. Magical. No snow where we live. Thx again for captivating content. Exciting. ☺️
Another great walk Steve......great scenery, as always, you guys really like to punish yourselves for sure! I do remember when I could do that, but not now....knees won't take it or the feet! You're blessed to live in an area that has so many beautiful places to visit close by. I'm sure that train ride felt wonderful on the way home....hope you enjoyed a nice supper after that!
Cheers Bob! It is such a nice reward to do these as one-way walks and have the reward of a wee train journey afterwards! We sure reached our limit on this day though :)
Loved the long walking tour - especially all the details that Steve pointed out - I was googling all the landmarks as the video played - excellent excellent tour - I'm watching from Milwaukee Wisconsin US but feel like I was there today. Thanks Steve ( and hanks to his daughter too!). Tom RUPPERT from Wisconsin

Haha cheers guys! You know what, we weren't even hungry - it was weird, maybe too tired (and as soon as we got back to Edinburgh I had a 2 1/2hr drive to Aberdeen!) I slept well that night :)

We are trying to think of challenges for you, but you seem to have done them all 😂 I felt your pain at the end of this video, jelly legs! Look forward to watching many more, you two are a joy to watch 😍
Hi Steve.I really enjoy your walks around Edinburgh. I get to see parts I normally wouldn't. A pleasant way to start my day here in Germany with my coffee. Please keep these interesting walks going.
Fantastic video Steve, really enjoyed the tour... be careful though.... I think your Glamour's assistant might be taking all the lime light..... :-))))

Great walk Steve that takes a big heart for the two of you to stick with it. My first time over the Forth Bridge would have been Dec. 1964 my father was a haulier and would take fish down to Joe Appleby in North Shields. The following year while at Broomlee School camp in West Linton we had a day out walking over the bridge to North Queensferry.
Hi there, I enjoyed your walk to Aberdour, which I always think sounds Welsh. I have covered all the route you have done today, so it was good to be reminded. Not much fun walking pavements and hard paths, it certainly takes it's toll on your feet and legs, but some of the views en route make it worthwhile. I often take the train ( Prior to covid ) to Aberdour, and I visit a nice cafe/ restaurant just up from the station. Thanks so much for the continued support David! Would be most happy to see your photos, feel free to share via email! I've added Wylde Green station to the list this minute!
@@steve-marsh Wylde Green Station was many moons ago, the line went electric and sadly there are no gardens anymore. I left my email address on one of my comments. I don't have yours. Thank you for your reply.

Brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this VLOG. Congratulations on your milestone! BTW, loved your views of the Forth Bridge from North Queensferry! It really shows what a remarkable, imposing structure it is!
My wife told me about this video a couple of months ago but I didn't watch it until now. Having lived in South Queensferry I thought I knew it all! But the views you provided were, for the most part, a totally new perspective! I couldn't have made that walk even during my thirties, so thanks for providing this vicarious adventure.
Nice to be watching this when you've almost reached 150k subscribers. (You apppeared in my recommendations a few months ago, and I'm catching up with your past videos.)
Thanks for a great video and particularly the Fife part. It brought back many happy memories of more than 50 years ago when that part of the Fife trail was just a walk over the Ferry Hills. There was an old army camp (I think near that beach you admired) where me and my pals used to have great fun playing "sojers". The shipwrecking yard at Inverkeithing broke up many famous ships in its day. Whenever we passed in the train from Cowdenbeath to Edinburgh there was usually an old liner there. My grandad lived in a small house on the Aberdour Road just up the laneway from St Bridget's and we'd walk down there a lot. Also trespassed on what was then (probably still is) part of the Earl of Moray's estate, going past what was left of the "big hoose" at Donibristle Estate and where James Stewart, 2nd Earl of Moray was killed on the beach. Alas, it's a long way from Australia and age is beginning to tell so I'm not sure if I'll ever get back there for another visit. Your videos are a great substitute. Many thanks.
Thanks so much or this! Really appreciate the comment. I have many similar memories from Donibristle especially (and went to the namesake primary school). We hope to do the whole Fife Coastal Path at some point this year when the weather improves - stay tuned for that one :)
You old weather guru you. Another cracking day in Scotland I see. Great walk over the bridge, North Queensferry is a nice wee place. I do love a train journey as well as a walk or cycle so this one was a good one. Fancy a pie from Gregg's though......wonder why???
That was epic Steve and thanks for putting the cat amongst the pigeons for our visit to the two islands this Sunday. We may have to rejig our plans and take in North Queensferry too as it looks a gorgeous place 👍
@@steve-marsh had a fantastic day today Steve. Thanks for the tips. Cramond Island was wonderful. I wish we could have spent more time there. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out North Queensferry as our boat over to Inchcolm was at 1pm. Inchcolm was lovely too although we couldn't explore either end as the nesting gulls kept dive bombing us. My wife is scared of "flappy things" and I'm a wimp! 😅 All in all we had a wonderful time though 👍
@@DaveyPalmer1 Haha sorry I should have told the birds to be more welcoming :) So glad you had a good time, and great to know you have plenty reasons to return :)
Another great video guys thanks. It reminds my of when I had a job to replace the costal path sign posts all along the path from North Queensferry to Buckhaven
@SteveMarsh When I was doing the Scotish tours in the 1980's I we always went into the Albert in North Queensferry for tea and sandwiches. It used to be a dangerous road down to there from the motorway. Cangratulations on your 15k Subscribers. But what a way to celebrate it!
Great stuff Steve and those miles are very good going, weirdly enough I was watching a show a few weeks back all about the Forth bridges, was really good but sadly was saying about some men that lost their lives building it. Been to South Queensferry a few times but never North, those stairs you went up reminded me of the Wallace Monument, bit touristy but still worth a visit if you've not already done it. Thanks again fella enjoyed as always.
Thanks so much Gary! Hope you're doing well :) Wallace Monument is a great shout - and what a setting it has - definitely thinking to do some short 5 minute videos on this kind of attraction
It is Saturday morning here in Oz and I have just driven four hours to get home after a tedious week away working in the bush only to find your wonderful walk on my computer, man this lifted my spirits, what a wonderful journey and what beautiful views thank you so much it has made my day. Stay well both of you and thanks again. Ps- congratulations on reaching 15k I am sure it will not be long before you have double that figure.Cheers.
You made me laugh @ 1:56 ! Congratulations on (more than) 15K subscribers, I look forward to the video that you will make when you reach 100K. Great video, beautiful scenery.
So you took the easy option and hopped on the train, you could have easily walked it back😜I have cycled over the bridge many times, that view never gets old👌Quite an effort you two, I will stick to my cycling🤣I have to cycle 28 miles just to get to the bridges but its always worth it👍
Excellent! By far the best walking videos on the real Scotland and great to see parts I’ve cycled past but never explored on foot. Thanks to you both 🙏
Congrats on the subs mate, you two are obviously full of energy or just aff yer heids min 🤣, wish I could walk that far, nice vlog again showing things I haven't seen down that way 😁
Aw getting close to my turf now! 😁 This makes me supppper nostalgic, i used to cycle from Sputh Queensferry to Glenogle daily on that cycle path and loved every bit of it! At 5am when noone but the farmers are awake, it was beautiful and peaceful 🥺😁 Lived right next to the new high school, the very start of the cycle path, and it was perfect in the summer 🥰 Amazing video Steve, i miss doing things like this, definitely motivated after watching this, and i'll be sure to pack ma wotsits and dreamies incase am hungry! 😉😅
Haha we always carry dreams in case we make some friends along the way :D What a cool commute that would have been, you would have been getting funny looks from the sheep :)
Superb walk Steve; the late spring country-side is the best. A future trek around the coast of Fife would be binge worthy. My arthritic knees are jealous.
Hi Steve, a very interesting and great video, l really enjoyed it, I'm sure you must have been really tired at the end of your walk, l wood have anyway - but glad you enjoyed it.
Another great video showing so many hidden gems! That was some hike for you both, and well done with all the subscribers - as a previous comment said....Well Deserved 😎
Congratulations on reaching your 15,000! I'm sure there are a lot more people who'd be fascinated by your posts. There's nothing more fatiguing than walking the pavements of busy suburban roads, my feet ached in sympathy with you two, but what a gem of a celebratory video! I had no idea you could walk over the Forth road bridge, and what amazing views you get of "the" Forth Bridge from there. I remember queuing to cross on the car ferry at South Queensferry with my parents after staying the night in Edinburgh en route to a walking holiday in Strathpeffer. That was in the July of 1964, so it must have been just before that first road bridge was opened. What spectacular pictures of the railway bridge you took from North Queensferry, the buildings in the foreground gave a real idea of the scale of the structure, and what an attractive little waterside town it is. Loved the permanent graffiti from the sailors of 1771 "We wuz 'ere", they weren't going to be forgotten! The shipbreakers at Inverkeithing was originally part of the "empire" of Thomas W Ward of Sheffield and was set up after the First World War. Many famous ships met their end there, mostly warships, not surprising, given its proximity to Rosyth. These included the original of the famous "Dreadnoughts" in 1923, and post World War II, the pride of the Royal Navy, including "Nelson" and "Rodney", sister ships of the ill-fated "Hood". Liners included in 1937, the hull of the RMS "Olympic", a sister ship of the "Titanic", and Cunard's second "Mauritania" in 1965. It's a bit of a comedown to be breaking up family saloons nowadays! Incidentally I've been watching Paul Murtons "Grand Tours of Scotland's Lochs" and caught the one where he visits the "lost" lochs of Edinburgh: Nor' Loch, once a partial moat for Edinburgh Castle, which became a cesspit and was drained to provide the space where Princes Street Gardens and Waverley Station now stand, and Burgh Loch, now parkland, which I believe you drove around in your video in the snow earlier in the year. He also visited a very attractive "Doctors Garden" on the shores of one of the Moorfoot Reservoir "lochs". Looking forward to the "Fife Coastal Path" adventure. That should be interesting.
Cheers Hugh! I really should call you before posting these videos with all that awesome knowledge you have! Ohhh I'm jealous you've done the proper Queensferry crossing :)
@@steve-marsh I think it's interesting, the way you do it ,"Just go out there and see what happens.".and so obviously do many other people. If anything attracts your interest, you can always check it out later, or nowadays on the spot on your mobile. That was some trip to Strathpeffer. My Dad thought we'd got it nailed when we reached Edinburgh (beautiful drive up through the Borders), but there was a lot more driving to do up into the Highlands via Perth and Inverness. And we were in the old VW van he used for business - nothing like as comfortable as your "customised conveyance"!
Bit late coming to this video. Very helpful as I've planning to head up to Edinburgh next week. Haven't heard the expression - 'Not on your nelly' for a very long time !
Thanks for a really enjoyable video. My wife and I love the Fife area and have walked part of the Fife Coastal Path between Lower Largo and Crail. We would love to see your treatment of this which would certainly be a good watch. You might even fancy doing the chain walk near Elie! Having completed the 15 mile target on this video though I think that I would have headed for Inverkeithing station instead of continuing to Aberdour!
That would have been a good idea Bob - we certainly reached our limit! We did a wee video on the chain walk too - what a great place, and the coastline just gets better as you head east - we really must do the whole thing when we have some time off together :)
For 15k?! Wow!!!!! That’s crazy to think you have 162k now!!!!

Thank you so much. You have made this Scot very homesick indeed. More power to you both.
Thanks so much Tom! Are you in Malta? Would love to go there!
I sit too much here in Stenhouse. Well, thanks fer giving me the motivation to get out and about!
Thanks so much for coming along (at last!) ;)
Nice to be watching this when you've almost reached 150k subscribers. (You apppeared in my recommendations a few months ago, and I'm catching up with your past videos.)
Congratulations 👏 on the 15,000. Subscribers milestone.
Great video
Cheers Dave! Really appreciate it :)
Well done - both for the hike and the subscribers. Today 15.7K - a year from now 1.57 million!
Imagine that walk Jim? :) Hope you're doing well!
Enjoyed seeing that, especially St. Bridgid's Kirk, spectacular ruin.
Thanks Catherine! I've always loved it there :)
@@steve-marsh I look forward to it. Much Regards. :-)
You old weather guru you. Another cracking day in Scotland I see. Great walk over the bridge, North Queensferry is a nice wee place. I do love a train journey as well as a walk or cycle so this one was a good one. Fancy a pie from Gregg's though......wonder why???
Haha cheers Michael - oh not a pie, just a breakfast roll :)
Gosh ! What a wonderful walk !!! Greetings from Hamburg to you both !
Thanks so much Gabi! All the best to you too! :)
That was amazing Steve! If I had been with you, you would have been carrying me back to the ship :):):)
I really enjoyed your walking on the west coast of Scotland brilliant 👏
what a video what a walk Aberdour golf club Ford Zephyr Bridges amazing. Used to have day trips to Aberdour and loved it a long time ago. well done
Glad you enjoyed it Jim! Aberdour could have a video all of its own for sure!
Thank you for the walk. It’s beautiful country.
Cheers Liz! :)
Gosh...from 15k subs to 83k in 2 yrs, amazing. Great vid, I watched the Fife Coast path before this one! Still trawling the back catalogue 😉
That was epic Steve and thanks for putting the cat amongst the pigeons for our visit to the two islands this Sunday. We may have to rejig our plans and take in North Queensferry too as it looks a gorgeous place 👍
Cheers Davey! I'd forgotten how cool N Queensferry was, I'd like to live there now!
Another good video pal. What helps us is your knowledge of the places you show us.
Cheers Alex, appreciate it! :)
Another great video guys thanks. It reminds my of when I had a job to replace the costal path sign posts all along the path from North Queensferry to Buckhaven
Good work! Thanks for keeping us on the right track :)
Lovely area. I added Fife to my Train Simulator. Another great Steve, thanks.
Nice one Jack! Thanks :)
My wife and I have just booked a wee holiday in NQF purely off the back of this video!
Great walk you made. I’m impressed. We stayed overnight with our campervan under the bridge near deep sea world. Grand.
That is awesome Hans! Lovely part of the world :)
@SteveMarsh
When I was doing the Scotish tours in the 1980's I we always went into the Albert in North Queensferry for tea and sandwiches. It used to be a dangerous road down to there from the motorway. Cangratulations on your 15k Subscribers. But what a way to celebrate it!
Cheers! I have memories of the Albert from when I was a kid :)
@@steve-marsh HAppy Christmas to you & Alicja and an adventuras new year. 🎇✨🎄🚐🚐🚐
@@steve-marsh Kelpies is good too fella and Falkirk Wheel 👍
It is Saturday morning here in Oz and I have just driven four hours to get home after a tedious week away working in the bush only to find your wonderful walk on my computer, man this lifted my spirits, what a wonderful journey and what beautiful views thank you so much it has made my day. Stay well both of you and thanks again. Ps- congratulations on reaching 15k I am sure it will not be long before you have double that figure.Cheers.
Wow, I'm just as thankful for this comment! Cheers Simon!
Every time you mention Edinburgh airport, RAF Turnhouse comes to mind
You made me laugh @ 1:56 ! Congratulations on (more than) 15K subscribers, I look forward to the video that you will make when you reach 100K. Great video, beautiful scenery.
Thanks so much Philip! Full-time work is getting in the way of more videos at the moment, but hope to film another video this week :)
Hi Steve another great video of your walk around Scotland I’m still looking forwards to see more of your videos thank you for sharing
Thanks so much Ken, more to come soon I hope :)
Cheers to you, matey! :D Thanks for this fun adventure too! Keep going! Captain of the good old Blackthorne
Thanks Captain! Good times :) Hope you're doing well!
Thanks to you both 🙏
Thanks so much Keith! Really appreciate it!
Congrats on the subs mate, you two are obviously full of energy or just aff yer heids min 🤣, wish I could walk that far, nice vlog again showing things I haven't seen down that way 😁
Cheers Marty! Oh, we really felt it after that walk - I think we've found our limit!
Fantastic.......being a Fifer who now lives in Newcastle really missing home. Thank you
Cheers George! We hope to be back in Fife again soon - love it there!
Aw getting close to my turf now! 😁 This makes me supppper nostalgic, i used to cycle from Sputh Queensferry to Glenogle daily on that cycle path and loved every bit of it! At 5am when noone but the farmers are awake, it was beautiful and peaceful 🥺😁 Lived right next to the new high school, the very start of the cycle path, and it was perfect in the summer 🥰
Amazing video Steve, i miss doing things like this, definitely motivated after watching this, and i'll be sure to pack ma wotsits and dreamies incase am hungry! 😉😅
Haha we always carry dreams in case we make some friends along the way :D What a cool commute that would have been, you would have been getting funny looks from the sheep :)
How amazing is Scotland in the Summer though?!!!
When there IS one, that is 😁
Haha so true! 18 degrees on this day was our summer :)
@@steve-marsh we must cherish every balmy, near tropical second of it!
Superb walk Steve; the late spring country-side is the best. A future trek around the coast of Fife would be binge worthy. My arthritic knees are jealous.
Cheers Peter! We are really excited to do the whole trail as soon as we can get time off together :)
Many congratulations and good wishes on 15K subscribers! I am proud to be one of them!
Yas! Thanks so much Cindy :)
Hi Steve, a very interesting and great video, l really enjoyed it, I'm sure you must have been really tired at the end of your walk, l wood have anyway - but glad you enjoyed it.
More memories for me, Thank you
Love the video, makes me homesick. 👍
Cheers John! Glad to bring a wee bit of Scotland to you :) Aw the best!
@@steve-marsh Thanks Steve. The last time I was back in Fife I walked Fife Coastal Path: Elie to Anstruther, around 10km.
Another great video showing so many hidden gems! That was some hike for you both, and well done with all the subscribers - as a previous comment said....Well Deserved 😎
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it :)
Haha thanks so much! I have another video on Edinburgh coming up, but not until next Saturday!
@@steve-marsh Well that's no good !😁
Thanks for a really enjoyable video.
Brilliant, thank you so much I enjoyed every foot step😁
Thanks so much Rob!
Only just found this video it was brilliant a great day out 👍thanks Steve
Glad you enjoyed it James!
I really enjoyed your walk! (I was watching from Australia.)
Thanks so much Adrian! Still blown away we have viewers all around the world, especially in wonderful Australia! :)
