It’s not that they necessarily dislike the video, people put a thumbs down because they don’t want UA-cam to recommend the video to them anymore, when you can just hit the little dots in your feed and do the same thing
Looks great. I think its going to be super solid. On another note.... At 11:15 you can see dad's daily. The ride height is perfect. Sometimes looking at an angle its hard to tell. But from this view, back a little and perpendicular to the car, you get a great view of how the tires fit up in the fender. And as always you gotta stay to the end and see the still shots. Those allow you to pause and look at details on the car and around the shop. Nice work!
As for the seat bottom being very thin, what I did was made a plywood platform with the center cut out then webbing like in a lawn chair was woven over then Covered by a 2 “ cushion, allowed very low , thin yet comfortable
Hey Matt, Mike and Crew Good to see a project coming together as well as this is happening. If you build in good suspension for the car, you won't need much padding in the seat bottom. Be Safe and Well
Huge step forward! Those fiberglass "dune buggy" style seats that bolt right to the floor, with diamond tuck and roll would look cool. Very exciting! Helps me stay motivated.
It warms my old heart to see that body sitting on that frame. It just makes everything right with the World. I’m pretty sure Mr Schroll is somewhere smiling.
Outstanding work with squaring the body up, you guys have a really good eye, the build will be going together with less of a tolerance in measurements than when it came off the line originally. Brilliant job guys and again thank you for all the hard work.
Thank you for the update on the Schroll 32 Ford Coupe ! Take care , stay safe and healthy with whatever you guys maybe doing next ! Doing well here in Kansas .
That’s a great piece of team work, the subframe idea was a moment of genius Matt. Thoroughly enjoying watching this old Hotrod getting a new lease of life. Catch you later. Geof (U.K.)
Sweet, for the height of the roof the channeling depth is perfect. A gusset on the A&B mounts would be a plus in case you get hit in the side. Isn’t overkill better. Love the profile. 👍👍👍
I haven't seen one of those green chairs since the 90s also take a trip to Walmart and look for a memory foam mattress topper with a gel support in it. Cut that up for seat
Very cool 😎 I’ve been getting a lot more done on my project.... sandblasting time on the frame soon - brakes, lines new drums pads all that good stuff ty Steve
Looking good Mat and Mike. Is there room on the inside of the frame to drop your floor like Mike on This old Hotrod did with his 34? May help with the comfort.
Been a while since I've seen a Deuce coupe in the East Coast 50's style (deep channel/no chop); gonna look great! (Staying with the early Olds will make the theme complete - I may be biased...) Seriously consider a recessed floor pan to gain a couple of inches of headroom, (if it doesn't make those swing pedals too high) and at least a 4in. dropped axle to get the front end in the weeds.
Hello Matt, excellent work, I send you a big hug and blessings for everyone from Buenos Aires Argentina take good care of yourself and I always see you
Matt, I'm re-watching some of these earlier videos because I'm doing the same thing on our 30 A coupe, I used your subframe idea which will work out nice...
I Really Realy loves east coast style era perfect rods! And this is so sweet. There was one on The H.A.M.B., where some kid in 50s, cut the toe-board out, and slides the body in on top a part of the sub frame, but it was a pain to get out. But that is so much nicer what you did there! I love to follow along, and I subscribed for this and the red ‘34! Just a small point of criticism, if you named the videos the same way, it’s easier to find, if you want to see em all. Like 32 schol, and then title, it’s easier to find them, when you are late. Because some is named schol, some 32, some heavy channel, radius rod fix and removing 100lbs. Otherwise, I love this!
with the new floor being so much higher you could always make a dropped seat area so you have a little cush for the push ! It seems like a no brainer ! That coupe is looing awesome ! The channeled look has always been my favorite. The only problem is I do like a little chop on the top but, I'm tall so that doesn't work unless I put the dropped seat pan in it. It's yours so do with it as you please ! Keep on having fun with it. Just for a future video, I know you have them on the Eastwood site but, do you have a "Monkey on a stick " ? It's a tension jack but, the more you use it the moe you find uses of it. They are around a hundred bucks but, really do help for all kinds of things. The first time I saw one a body man was using it on the front and rear edge of an old door with clamps to pull the length back into what looked like a NON reusable door. When he started pushing the door popped and was almost as good as new except a small oilcan which with a couple of layers of duct tape on his slapper and a dolly he fixed the door with out even having to paint it. Of course it doesn't always do that but, it was a lasting memory. The nice thing is you can push or pull great amounts with it. I found it very helpfull on cars that had hinges on the radiator support. Well keep up the great work !
Could you perhaps move that rear cross-brace forward and recess the seat in the floor a bit? As long as the compressed foam is still higher than the floor, you could have full padding and a super deep seated position.
Mat you need to get your hands on an old WW II bomb site of a flying fortress to keep it more period correct then you can chuck out the laser lol seriously it is a great idea to use a laser cheers for the tip
People weren’t as big in the 20s and 30s so when you have a deep channel like this 32 you’d expect the seating position and the room for your legs to be cramped.it really is a cool looker. It’s not going to be a distance traveler but it will be great for short jaunts. Sounds to me like we’ve got a couple of commenters that should build there own cars.
Have you thought about making some sheet steel or aluminum bucket seats for it and putting a recess in the floor to drop them down a bit . Because that roof needs a 2 in chop
Matt, with the camera angle it's hard to tell but couldn't you lower the floor boards a couple of inches? Even if it's only under your butt it would help give you room for more foam padding under the seat.
Hi Guys! Any plans on chopping the top some? The frame work looks awesome Lads. One of all time favorite cars! Thanks for sharing and cheers from Motown.
That laser made quick work of placing the body on the frame. Too bad Henry did have use of those when he first built the car. The look is sweet! Mike is going to have to "age" shrink to fit!
@@dalemarshall4878 Wasn't implying that he did. Was just hoping he was sharing in the increased profit. As for the whine, yes I was a bit, as I was just about to place a good sized order. And yes, I would love some cheese to go with it. Stinky cheese. Thank you for asking.
For sure Mike won't be driving this one! Ideally you want to be looking out the center of the windshield, with no seats you should be looking out the bottom. It's amazing how many cars I get in where seating position is ignored! Keep up the good work and videos you do a great job explaining your thoughts and processes
The car looks great! How deep is the body channeled? One of the deepest I've seen. Good thing the top is not chopped...you wouldn't be able to sit in it.
Matt & Mike, seems like your projects are moving right along, as I mentioned in a previous video comment, I really like your subframe idea, will this be the norm with future projects? Like on your 33 project? Be safe.....GOD BLESS!!!!!
Small victories, actually not so small, kinda big. I like the body mounts the way you built them. I think the cast look would have been a bit too much for the spirit of this car. You have to realize that back in the day if the builder cut them out of angle and trimmed one side to make a gusset it would have been considered state of the art so yours fits right in the program. Keep it up it's gonna be a cool project.
Just wondering how difficult it was to drive the Kassa coupe with a deep channel and heavy chop. My own 31 coupe is channeled 4-1/2" with no chop. Once past the steering wheel and the B pillar. It is very comfortable.
cool, yeah why not drop the floor pan a few inches like the other guy said. It'll give you a lot more room over all and it seems you have quite a bit of ground clearance.
Hey guys, Looking great. I think I would nix the roll bar. I mean, do you need it? And just because someone in the past made a questionable decision 60 yrs ago doesn't mean you have to repeat it to stay true to the original vibe. It may have been something he regretted, and contributed to the car being parked. Just a thought. And, Um......urr.....aahh...... at 3:00, did Matt tell Mike he had to wiggle his bottom? Or wiggle his body? I......I.... I mean....I don't judge. Lol
How can anyone dislike these videos!?
I have no idea.
It’s not that they necessarily dislike the video, people put a thumbs down because they don’t want UA-cam to recommend the video to them anymore, when you can just hit the little dots in your feed and do the same thing
I would guess they want less talking and more working on the car. Who knows?
When the weather clears it would be fun to see as many of the cars in the shop outside for a family photo. New poster???
Agree!👍
Or maybe a calendar for next year of all of the cars !
I got my Iron Trap coffee mug today. I'm sipping coffee and watching videos right now!!!
You can channel the floor inside the frame 2 or 3 inches for headroom or seat padding. Enjoy. Looking good guys
This car gets my hotrod juices flowing.
I had to smile when I saw your buddy in the background sipping on a flask...gotta keep warm in a PA hotrod garage!
Looks great. I think its going to be super solid.
On another note....

I don’t know what it is about this car, but it’s my favorite out of them all. I love everything about it.

Looking really good!
Hey Matt, Mike and Crew
Good to see a project coming together as well as this is happening.
If you build in good suspension for the car, you won't need much padding in the seat bottom.
Be Safe and Well
Congrats on getting the body on, major milestone! Badass is the word! Thanks for the fun Matt, Mike and all the "little people".
Bomber seats !
That looks really good sitting there. I like the stance with the channeled body.
Hey Matt, it's a great day when you put your 32 body on the frame. Watched the episode 2 times. Thanks for the video
Great Job! Looks like the rear needs to come up 2 or 3 inches so the radius of the fender well matches the radius of the tire. Looking Great!
Great! Channel seat pan down in??
Huge step forward! Those fiberglass "dune buggy" style seats that bolt right to the floor, with diamond tuck and roll would look cool. Very exciting! Helps me stay motivated.
Great progress and great craftsmanship!!! ROD & CUSTOM IS ALIVE AND WELL IN 2021 !!!!! Great video and education.
She’s channeled, that’s for sure, Looks pretty sweet!
It warms my old heart to see that body sitting on that frame. It just makes everything right with the World. I’m pretty sure Mr Schroll is somewhere smiling.
Absolutely awesome this thing is taking shape quickly.
Looks great nice job thanks for sharing your build your friend from Canada Rob 🇨🇦 😎✌
Outstanding work with squaring the body up, you guys have a really good eye, the build will be going together with less of a tolerance in measurements than when it came off the line originally. Brilliant job guys and again thank you for all the hard work.

Mike- "Buy an old channeled hot rod they said... it'll be fun they said" 🤣 Another great video guys!
Well done👍
Nice work Matt
The reverse chrome's fits the coupe good!
you rock dude. keep it up.
As usual Matt, you and the guys rock.
Looking really nice. Body on the frame is a big step and it suddenly looks like a car again.
Sweet, for the height of the roof the channeling depth is perfect. A gusset on the A&B mounts would be a plus in case you get hit in the side. Isn’t overkill better. Love the profile. 👍👍👍
amazing old ford cars the 34 ford will be a great look one
Such a cool old hotrod! Great job.
it looks great Matt
shaping up nice! really appreciate the camera work you guys do. one of the things that sets you apart.
Absolutely perfect for the occasional drive, it definitely is bad ass. Cheers
Man that body looks great sitting to that chassis !
I haven't seen one of those green chairs since the 90s also take a trip to Walmart and look for a memory foam mattress topper with a gel support in it. Cut that up for seat
Looks cool! A little cozy inside though. 😁
WOW! Great job guys, I can"t wait for the next video. 73 Ed

Great Job Matt! This Car Rocks! 🎸🥇🏆🥇🎸
Matt looking good, man do you have a great talent. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
nice work/rockmusic part in the vid :)
Looking good Mat and Mike. Is there room on the inside of the frame to drop your floor like Mike on This old Hotrod did with his 34? May help with the comfort.
Lookin just right Matt!
Shaping up to be a really cool hot rod.👍🏻
I would get a pair of those aluminum WWII Aircraft style seats for it.
Been a while since I've seen a Deuce coupe in the East Coast 50's style (deep channel/no chop); gonna

wonderful job guys! 💪😎
Why not let the seat pan sink down in the floor pan a couple inch’s? Thanks guys
when he sat in that thing it gave me some claustrophobia anxiety lol pretty sure he's under 5'10", I would never fit at 6'5"
Nice! Love it when a plan comes together. L brackets.. simple.
Awesome seeing this car being put together!
Cool video, love your work 👍
Hello Matt, excellent work, I send you a big hug and blessings for everyone from Buenos Aires Argentina take good care of yourself and I always see you
Thanks for watching!!!
Matt, I'm re-watching some of these earlier videos because I'm doing the same thing on our 30 A coupe, I used your subframe idea which will work out nice...
Pretty groovy man it looks really cool. I wish you could have painted the 1/2 square metal frame before you welded it down.
Another good one brother!! Thank you 👍
Perhaps this should be Kate's car. She will be the best fit!
Another interesting show.
looks awsome
hotrod is lookin sweet keep up the great work
Man! That thing looks soo cool! Love it! Love your work!
Looking good guys.
Am I the only one who looks away when Matt starts welding? Force of habit I guess.
Lookin good.
I Really Realy loves east coast style era perfect rods!

Matt I have seen Jesse James make aircraft aluminum seats for a car like yours came out awesome 😎!!!!!
If you're steering Mike you should be making vroom vroom noises!
We forgot to add the noises!!!

Was thinking the same ,can't they sit down between the frame ?
i was thinking of a pair of recesses where the seat bottoms would go.
Matt is happy ,sorry Mike, you're going to have to do a " DINO " through the roof😆😆😆😆
Hell yeah!
You really need to clean that windshield. LOL
Great content Matt and Mike.👍 Fabricating, welding, sparks flying and body is on the chassis. Now ready for primer and paint, right guys?
I’m visualizing one of your custom fabricated floors that sits down an inch within the rails

Between Eastwood raising most of their prices 20% this month, and cutting your discount code to 10%, I certainly hope they gave you a good raise.
Lol. What makes you think Matt has anything to do with that? Want some cheese with that whine?
@@dalemarshall4878 Wasn't implying that he did. Was just hoping he was sharing in the increased profit. As for the whine, yes I was a bit, as I was just about to place a good sized order. And yes, I would love some cheese to go with it. Stinky cheese. Thank you for asking.

Hay Mat, cars looking great. Why don't you drop the floor pan where the seat is going, that whay you'll have a thicker bottom cushion? Just a thought.
i would still sink seat pans into the floor thanks guys
You don't realize just how tiny the car is till Matt sits in it.
Looks like he is in a pedal car.
Small victories, actually not so small, kinda big. I like the body mounts the way you built them. I think the cast look would have been a bit too much for the spirit of this car.
