  • Do you really need a big wing for light wind? Wing foil session at 10 to 12 knots with 4.5qm wing and 1400HA foil. a day with little wind on fuerteventura and still you can have fun with small equipment. always try to keep the wing as small as possible. in this video i was on the road with my Naish hover S26 LE & 1400HA foil with the original 280 stabilizer. Ensis 4.5qm that has a lot of power and is very stable and good-natured.

Moin, at least I found your videos - thanx for posting them. Only few information about windsurfing and Foiling @ Costa-Calma directly. I will stay end August 2023 in Sotavento beach Club with my family and wil bring my wing stuff. Foil GONG VEloce 1300 HA. Question1: can you go out in frot of the Sotavento club directly- will be gusty but who cares with WING ;-) question 2 weight 82kg very experienced Foiling 3 Years winging. my smallest wing is 5 sqm Cabrinha Crosswing which I use up to 20/22kn. Does you recommend bringing smaller Wing? Usualy above 20kn I go windsufing small boards - but beeing felxible would help. Thanky you and Hang loose

Hello I'll be back for the whole of July. trade wind time. Last year in July my smallest wing was 2.5 square meters and the largest 4.5 square meters. The wind there is very gusty and strong in summer. 30 to 40 knots are often. Boarding at the sotavento beach club is one thing. you can get into trouble with the lifeguards. It is only allowed to start at the ION Club, where surfers can get in and out. The people from the ION Club are very nice and I always have my own gear there. foil size I had 1040HA, 1240HA and 1400HA with me but hardly used the 1400HA. Have fun there and hang loose

Hello, how are you?excellent your videos. I want to ask you for some advice on the subject. I weigh 80 kg, I have two teams. One with a 118L board, 1300 square cm foil, medium aspect, 5.8 aspect ratio and it happened to me that even with almost 20 knots I couldn't get it to fly with the 4.5m wing. Yesterday, without wind, I was towed by a boat and managed to make it fly, discovering that the cruising speed of the Foil is high and that the size of the board is an obstacle for it to pick up speed. I already know how to luff from standing to both sides. And here comes the question: I had an opportunity and bought the second team a Naish carbon hover 85L board and HA 1240 foil with a 85 cm mast and I want to try it since from what I see you I don't think it's more difficult than raising the whale that you I mentioned lol. What do you say?

Hello, I drive the naish hover s26 le 85 liters myself and weigh a little under 80 kilograms. I've been doing wing foiling for three years now and have to do a lot with little wind. It is important to pump at the start when there is enough pressure on the wing and pump constantly and vigorously and only work lightly with the board and your feet. Small waves movement because otherwise the stern will slow you down again on the water. Try it out the next time there is a light wind.

the 1240HA from naish is a super foil and if there is enough wind my standard foil from 13-14 knots I have fun. use the 220 stabilizer on the foil and not the 280, this makes the foil even faster and more agile.

I’m 100kg and 1240 is my main foil. Only use jet2000 with 6m on very light days.

hi there, end of november we will be in feurte again.. where is this spot you always ride? Sotavento somewhere? We always ride majanicho and corralejo

Hello, I usually always ride on the Costa Calma at the ION Club in the summer trade winds, cross-offshore winds to completely offshore. Otherwise, in the other seasons, the wind often comes from different directions. Wind from the east because it gets wavy. Otherwise, at high tide you can start directly from the beach and at low tide you can walk in over a small sandbank. the beach is beautiful and there are no stones. I like driving up north. I find sotavento too crowded and prefer Costa Calma. Have fun in November. I'm flying back to the island on December 23rd 🤙

Why didn't you show the most interesting part: pumping up onto the foil?

yes, a good idea, I'll pay attention to it during the next light wind session.
