The 3 dots on my secondary android hp didn't reflect the "link device" until i uninstalled WhatsApp and reinstall it. Then it worked!! Thank you!

Yeah I don't have the three dots on my old iphone. But it is the device that has all the chat history. So should I move primary device back to the old iPhone, delete new Android, reinstall Android and then link Android? Can I still move primary device to the new Android?

Alright, to those who didn't see the "link a device" option. The secondary phone CANNOT have sim card in it when setup. You can put the sim back after everything synced.

So, how is this feature supposed to work in US based iPhone 14 Pro models with e-sims?

I turned the e-sim off in the Cellular settings and reinstalled WhatsApp and still no luck.

I can confirm, an iPhone XR without a SIM card will show the Link a Device option on the 2nd screen after you click the Agree… option on the 1st screen. I guess e-sim iPhones are SOL.

Impossible to do when using an iPhone as a secondary phone. Still have to fill in my phone number first in order to receive a code and there is no option to go to settings.

I currently use an Android smartphone. I want to switch to a feature phone/dumb phone that does not have internet to avoid distraction from UA-cam videos etc. This would mean no internet browsing and no WhatsApp on my primary device. I still want to use WhatsApp for communication (in a restricted manner) - on a different device (smartphone).
