How to Make the Cascade Pulley Rig

- The cascade pulley rig is a new, two hook, long distance, sea fishing rig that I invented a few weeks ago. The top part is a restricted pulley rig that acts like a bolt leger while the bottom part of the rig is a fully functioning pulley rig. It casts well, has never yet failed to release upon impact with the water and very rarely tangles. It is a very efficient rig.

Alot of effort went into the editing of this video, fair play 👍
Thank you David. Much appreciated.
Im not knocking you but this rig seems absolutely pointless, the pulley wont work if you only get a fish on the bottom hook and if you get 1 on the top hook the lead will only lift half way so could still get snagged just seems pointless, why not just use a 2 hook clip down, or a pulley rig that works properly
If you get a fish on the bottom hook, the bottom section of the pulley works as normal, lifting the lead up - not as much as on a normal pulley - but enough to get the lead out of danger. If you get a fish on the top hook, that too will lift the lead a little way with the crimp helping to make sure that the two traces are far enough apart so as not to tangle. When a fish takes either hook, the trace will pull through the swivel, enabling the angler to have a little bit of extra time to strike and hook whatever is taking the bait. Now a conventional pulley is fine if you are after big fish but, down this end of the country, there are times when the fish are smaller and that's when this tackle comes into its own. A fixed one up, one down is, by definition, fixed. A fish instantly feels solid resistance and you have less time to strike before it rejects the bait. A conventional pulley is fine, as I said, if you are targeting bigger fish with big baits. This is useful for smaller baits and species, combining features for long distance casting with the advantage of two separated baits, a bit longer traces for additional movement and very few tangles. The thing is, the usual pulley is designed for putting your baits on the other side of rocks and reefs, targeting fish on the other side. Despite that, many people use it for clean beaches and that's fine, if not the purpose for which it was intended. An up and over leger rig would present the bait better. This one separates the two baits nicely and is useful in a variety of situations. I have used the cascade rig many times and caught well on it with very, very few tangles. It may not be for everybody, but it works for me. If it is not for you, that is fine and your choice. Have a nice day.
